Das "100.000 Pilze für Gertie"-Projekt

Hallo,

... I don't know about you - but speaking for myself I'm not able to understand that November is already waiting around the corner. Here at our place it's once more dangerous to use the C-word because this makes Birgit shout: "AAAAAHHHHHRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHH... just a few days left until Christmas!!!" And honestly speaking I get a bit shaky too... only so little time left for earning good points in the Golden Book and to convince Santa that I am a very nice flutterybeary... not being involved in any incident of empty cookie jars... *coughcough*

Yes, in the meantime fall is reigning around here... the trees managed to defend their green for long but now all of a sudden they changed to autumn colors. And of course the typical messengers of fall can now be found everywhere - and even Birgit's craft table is no exception from the rule. *LOL* As we all know witches are deeply related to the fruits of fall... could you imagine a witchy home without any mushrooms or pumpkins? Impossible, isn't it?  And of course Gertie Gumthrop is no exception - au contraire, having taught the secrets of herbs for more than 300 years to young witches and wizards she can't be without magical plants in her retirement. And that's what brought up a special plan by Birgit for Gertie's retirement home which we call here the "100.000 mushrooms for Gertie"-project.

Well... looks like there are three unnecessary zeros in this project's name... *grin* I'm going to show you Birgit's handmade mushrooms a little closer now...

B. in Blau.
In the left of the picture you can see Birgit's so-called standard mushrooms, these are the most common and they come in all sorts of color like for example here in blue. The mushrooms at the right side of the picture were made from glow-in-the-dark polymer clay with accents of color and glitter, next to terracotta they also come in green and blue. And then there are also these two sorts:

But not only mushrooms were made... pumpkins too are for sure a must-have in a witchy home. This was the beginning of Birgit's pumpkin production...

... and she also made a few jar stoppers.

After a little meeting with Birgit's brushes they looked like this:

I've asked Birgit if this was the "1 million pumpkins for Gertie"-project but she just told me I would be making a good effort to go on with the "1000 entries for Fluby in the Golden Book"-project... *gulp* It's not always that easy for me around here... especially not during the time when the Golden Book is appearing threateningly on the horizon... *groan* But I wanted to show you some more... Birgit still had a big vase from the set we got as a gift from dear Tatiana (the other pieces were used to decorate the fireplace) - now a miniature fall tree was planted into it. And from her Somewhen-for-somewhat-boxes Birgit took out this witch flower she had bought long time ago from Georgia Marfels. And after the pot had met Birgit's brushes it looked like this:

And also from her Somewhen-for-somewhat-boxes Birgit got these dishes she has bought from Sofia at Twelvetimesmoreteeny.

*kicher* Und was das Pilz-Projekt angeht... nun ja...
Hmm... looks like this is the "11 dishes for Gertie"-project... *giggle* And getting back to the mushroom project... well...

... in the meantime Birgit got a little bit closer to the 100.000 mark... *LOL* But in case you might wonder what Birgit might be planning with 100.000 mushrooms, 1.000.000 pumpkins and 11 decorative dishes... well, that's a pretty good question - which deserves an answer... in another post... ;O)

Liebe Grüße / Hugs
Flutterby

Only counting to 100.000 mushrooms seem hard enough.. making that many.. I get tired just thinking of it ;) But I guess they will make a lovely picture, I love the picture with all the mushrooms now, seeing 100.000 in one picture would be very cool I think =)

Hallo Fluby! I think that your Birgit has gone mad with making all those mushrooms, pumpkins and plants for her Gertie ;)! The jar stoppers are so cute to see and the piled up pumpkins are great work, I do love their faces :D! But among us, Fluby, I think you still can earn some good points if you behave like a good boy and be willing to help your Birgit ;D!
I'm very busy too with making miniatures and a proper, useful display for the miniature fair. If I'll get some time (I think it will be in November!) I'll write you all an e-mail, okay?
Wishing you all a lovely weekend........for making enough stuff for Gertie ;)!
Liebe Grüsse, Schepje und Ilona

Birgit has been seriously busy. I can hardly believe she made so many mushrooms, just thinking about making all those white dots makes me dizzy. Both mushrooms and pumpkins are fantastic. I too, love the piled up pumpkins and the jar stoppers.
Can't wait to see what next.

Hallo Birgit !
Skiddi

Dear Fluby, I can't Imagine that Santa would Ever find Anything but good marks next to your name in his Golden Book..... you being Such a Gentle-Beary Through and through! So just remember that the cookie jar is always open to those who Offer the cookies to Others first.....! :)
(At least it has always worked for me....)
As for the Thousands of fantastic mushrooms and pumpkins for Gertie.... they are looking Amazing!!! And I must confess.... they look like they are even Fun to make.... (unlike punching endless leaves....) with all those fun colors and glitter on top! Those plates are Wonderful (making me wish i had some too!)and the special tree looks perfect in that special vase! Now I am really eager to see how all these wonderful pieces will look when Birgit has assembled Gertie's House!!! (But no rush.... if Christmas has to come first, I will understand! LOL!)
