Idylle am Drachenteich

Hallo,

... here in Germany we have a saying about April doing anything he wants to (it rhymes in German)... or as Prince so beautifully sang "Sometimes it snows in April"... Since Sunday we're having snowy rain and hail but yesterday topped everything - everything was white! Do I have to mention at all that a certain lady of the house - due to reasons of discretion I'm not going to tell any names - let's just call her... hmm... Madame B... so Madame B is extremely grumpy at the moment because yesterday all of a sudden she had to arrange an appointment with her snow shovel. Well... if it was because of this cold, white, disgusting stuff that fell down in huge flakes out of the sky or if it was just by chance, anyhow, my Birgit (oops *teehee*) decided she was in need of a little comfort. Instead of shoveling snow what about sitting next to an idyllic pond with the water lapping softly, flowers in full bloom filling the air with their scent... oh my... and on top a bowl filled with strawberries and it's a beautiful world again... sweet, red, juicy, aromatic strawberries... *sigh*... eh... where was I... so Birgit thought this might be a nice compensation for the weather - and although not for herself (because you can try this and you can try that - but Birgit will never be in scale for 1:12... *grin*) but at least for Gertie. And so all of a sudden Gertie's garden pond found itself being put on Birgit's schedule as a top priority. Here's a little reminder... this is the piece by Playmobil I'm talking about:

In the meantime a water fountain was added to this pond - I guess you'll remember the very poor dragon head...

Now it was about time to add a little green to the pond edge... Birgit tried a bit of this and tested a bit of that... and then she decided to take the magical frog plant (sure, even when appearing as leaves frogs belong next to a pond) and decided next that the pond would make a nice bed for roses. So the rainbow roses and the sinister roses were planted... some additions here, some details there... and now it looks like this:

And because whenever such a handsome flutterybeary appears on a photo someone might get sidetracked from the motif *giggle* here are some more pictures of the dragon pond for you:

Looks like the Pebbletons too enjoy to stay at Gertie Gumthrop's idyllic dragon pond... but who knows if he enjoys himself in his new role...

*lach*
... he is never going to tell us. Bearsonally I would prefer to spit water at such a nice pond surrounded by roses instead of spreading dread and fear by spitting fire... but would he share this opinion? Maybe it was a good decision that Birgit has never asked him... *LOL*

I suppose this is going to become Gertie's favorite place... provided Birgit is going to add a seating... which shouldn't be a problem at all as far as I know my Birgit. And on top a bowl filled with sweet, red, juicy , aromatic strawberries... *sigh*... oh my... I would like this for sure. Speaking of liking - before I'm going to say bye for today I would like to mention something: Although all of you might have already seen it on Drora's blog, but the first corner project is finished! And it turned out awesome... who doesn't know it so far - you should really have a look HERE! ;O)

Liebe Grüße / Hugs

Hello Flutterby,
I completely agree with poor B...enough snow already! The pond with the dragon head and the amazing flowers is just gorgeous. So beautiful. I know it will be a favourite spot.
Big hug

Viele liebe Brummbärengrüße

Though I was not a fan of a dragon slayering ;D I have to admit the pond is sooooooooooo pretty! Great job Madame B! Yes we too have this saying about April. Over here it is only so wind as in late autum or winter, but it is quite sunny.
And yes I saw a pretty corner finished by Drora. Really soooo nice!!
Hugs and kisses from Peevee and me(still sitting in shawls and by warm heater) and Lady A which is enjoying the weather. :D

Wow Gertie's pond is gorgeous. I love all the amazing flowers plants and the pebbletons look right at home there. The water sprouting dragon is very impressive. Drora made a wonderful job of her corner.

I am really sorry to hear that Dear Birgit had to pull her shovel out of "hibernation"! This is truly a shocking thing when the flowers have started to open... I can say this from experience, unfortunately! But it will most likely melt quickly too... perhaps Birgit should have staged a Sit-down strike until the sun came back out to do his job? LOL!
As for the pond in Gertie's garden... well, Birgit did a fantastic job arranging the beautiful materials that she had already made ahead! So, truly, the Silver Lining to the Bad weather could be the inspiring effect it had on this project! I Love the way the pond looks now, and even though the Dragon (Poor speechless fellow!)cannot tell us what he thinks, we can Think he might feel happy forever spouting off into such a lovely place! At least he looks wonderful and useful and that can make everyone who visits the pond happy! :) As for the Pebbletons... they will keep him company and they are Happy looking little chaps! Although probably no-one should mention "Stone Soup" within their hearing....! Oops... I hope I was not close...! LOL! As usual, there is Nobody who can make better use of Playmobil pieces than Birgit!!!

Skiddi
PS. Wetter soll besser werden !!!

Birgit, you are amazing ! only you could bash a Playmobil piece and make it a wonderful mini work of art! You are truly a master of ingenuity, I love how it is now, completely different from the start.
As for the snow, if it may help you, here we have June sunshine and November chilly wind :o( Better than snow I know but still pretty cold and I hate it.
Hugs, Rosanna
PS in Italy we say: Aprile dolce dormire aka April sweet sleeping. March is the crazy month here: Marzo pazzerello because the weather changes all of a sudden.
PPS thank you for the good wishes on the portrait give away, I am keeping any finger and toe which I possess tightly crossed ;o)

Hallooooooooo, I guess that you will think: finally this oldie is again out of hibernation ;)! Well, in fact I haven't been in the blog world at all, due to my health issues as you know.
I've missed you guys and Mrs B! I see that Mrs B has been very busy......she even had a meeting with her snow shovel in April! Oh yes, we have the same saying: april doet wat het wil ;)! Here, in The Netherlands we had the same very cold, wet weather, with even real snow and hail, while lots of blooming flowers are longing for sunshine and warmth!! Well, next week it will be better, they say.......warmer too.
The pond with the dragon head looks awesome, it has that fantastic touch of Mrs B's magic, she really can do magic with her Playmobil toys, Fluby. The green plant, flowers and the Pebblestones are a gorgeous, calming addition to this angry looking dragon. Thankfully he is not spitting fire anymore, the fire is probably extinguished with water from the fountain and in his new life he can provide the plants for water when it is hot in summer time ;)!
Your blog is actually the first one of my readerslist, so I haven't visited Drora's blog, but I'll do it this weekend, that's for sure! Thank you for showing us your newest miniature magic, Mrs B and you, Fluby for being a good host ;)!
I wish you all a very nice (warmer and no snow!) weekend.
Liebe Grüsse, Schepje (who, being a snowman bearie himself, loved to see the snow falling down) und ilona

Love the spring youve created.. You do have a wonderful mini eye to craft realistic magical wonders out of a bit of a play thing!

I love how life has sprung from this little spot, all the plants are just perfect!

Lovely lovely work ;)
