Hallo,
… we hope this post's title did not confuse you… I mean it's in fact confusing enough that we're finding ourselves in July now!!! More than half of the year is already gone, days are getting shorter and the opportunities to gain yourself some good points in Santa's Golden Book become more and more rare. *gulp* This is somehow frightening and even more because I do not have the tiniest clue what has happened to the first 6 months of this year.

But when it comes to the Beary House I'm able to comfort you - this remains a single project. Anyhow a project with the house number "2". And everybody who has sent us something via mail once knows the reason why… *wink* And to make sure that it's visible that the Beary House's postal address is the No. 2 Birgit painted a wooden 2 in silver.

But this wasn't all yet… matching to the maritime theme of the house the 2 also got a... let's call it this way... matching frame:

We've received this tiny row boat from Maria for Christmas. Birgit painted it with matching colors (there's also a white stripe at the side) and added some shells. Yes, you may have noticed by now - the makeover of the Beary House's porch has started. Here's once more a reminder for you - this is how the house's front looked like:

The very first thing Birgit started with was a new coat of paint for the porch's posts. These looked like this in the beginning…

And to inform any visitor that this is the Beary House Birgit made a custom order for a metal plate.

It was a very happy coincidence that this sign had exactly the same size as the old mail box...

… and because the symbol of our national mail company is the post horn Birgit added some kind of a little joke with the help of a maritime themed decorative button.

And after Birgit was finished the mail box looks like this now:

The glass window at the entrance door was also renewed. Birgit happened to find a background sticker in her craft stash that reminds - when using a bit of fantasy - of stylized waves. This was attached to steady foil and painted with permanent markers.

Next in line were the two boxwood pots standing next to the entrance door. Sadly these could not be removed anymore that's why Birgit had to treat them carefully with her paint and green scatter in their place.

*grins*
At least better than the plastic look before. And I suppose you've noticed the fish who's found a place at the entrance door in the meantime. Well, the lower field of the entrance door was not made very well. But because the entrance door can't be removed (the risk of causing serious damage would be too big) Birgit glued the fish to it (which was next to other wooden ornaments a gift for Advent from Ilona). Camouflage was yesterday, today it's fishoflage… *grin*

And if we're stepping back a little more you're able to get quite a good impression how the area around the entrance door is lookin now.

But this was of course only the beginning… the next in line was the porch's swing. One blue coat plus new holds and upholstery later it looks like this now:

Stock. Birgit fand zufällig heraus, dass dieses Metallornament...
After this Birgit started to care about the plants. Let's be honest... a porch without flowers… that's for sure a no-go! *smile* Anyhow it started with the planting pots for the 3 windows of the first floor. Birgit happened to find out that this metal charm...

Danach gab es einen weißen Anstrich...
After this they were painted white…

… and then it was time for the flowers. For loads of flowers… and even more leaves. But first it was necessary to answer the question what kind of flowers were needed. Well, they should for sure match the color scheme of white-red-blue. And be handmade. And having in mind the required amount they should not be too time consuming to make.

*grins*
Rosey and I are still assuming that this is the very rare and only to be found at our house variety of Petunia Birgittiae… *teehee* Well, when it comes to realism my Birgit is somehow very flexible... as long as one can recognize that these are supposed to be flowers she's totally fine with that. *grin*

And after Birgit had made many flowers, buds and leaves she had the the 3 required planting boxes done in the end.

But to make sure that there are also blooming flowers at the porch itself Birgit has already started to build two plant pots.

As I've already mentioned at the beginning Christmas isn't that far away anymore as someone needing to earn loads of good points in the Golden Book would like it to be. That's why Rosey and I tried to earn ourselves a few good points by making helpful suggestions how to plant these pots.

What a pity, this didn't work, our suggestions were not accepted - I have no idea why. *LOL* But Birgit said it would have been nice from us anyhow - hooray! "Nice" is of course good for our account in the Golden Book! And I was lucky having the opportunity once more to earn me some good points at this month's beginning because of course I - being the gentlebeary that I am - have helped my Birgit once more with the update of her several calendars. For July our wisdom calendar is offering a very nice picture of a ripe dandelion with a saying by Arthur Schopenhauer. He said every day would be a small life on its own. Btw in German we have an extra word for the dandelion in this special state - we call it "Pusteblume" (= blow flower).

Yes, this is a very nice thought…which means that it's important to enjoy this daily small life. Nevertheless the "Pusteblume" makes me wonder too… there's a very lovely saying about it: One see the weeds, others see the wishes. We hope you are among those who recognize the potential for good wishes! ;O) Have a great July!

Habt noch eine schöne Woche
Ulrike
what an adorable house that this "Beary house" welcoming and full of cool summer and sea. Good month of July
hugs
Beary House is so lovingly adorned with these adorable seaside themed accessories! I really enjoy what you did to the mailbox, and the address plaque is such a wonderfully creative way to display the house number! The way you created the wavy glass insert is a stroke of genius! I don't know how you'd pass by without wanting to come onto the porch for a swing and a closer look at the lovely flower boxes filled with petunias! Finding all of the supporting themed pieces in your stash is just life's little synchronicity to let you know you are making something really special here. Fluby and Rosie's unique planter boxes should be included, too, as it is Beary House after all! I can't wait for the reveal photo of the entire front facade because with all of these special elements coming together it is going to be a WOW moment!
And the wisdom of the calendar is a great reminder that our lives are an exact reflection of how we perceive them. To me, encountering a Weed is a precious opportunity to grow ourselves into what we Wish to be. :O)
Beary house with maritime items is amazing and it looks like a very summer house. The colors are percfect. I really like the porch with many flowers and the original mail box with a decorative shell. The area around the entrance door makes a nice impression.
Happy July to Birgit and her Bears.
Oh oh, I see that your Birgit has been busy, creating the most unique miniature works for this Beary House! This house even got his own metal plate for telling a visitor where he is, very unique ;).
I love your miniature Briefkasten with the famous post horn, as I know very well, because I'm living at the border with Germany :). I think that your Birgit made something quite special, for something which is meant for daily use, hehehe, the result is so lovely, fresh.
The waves of the glass window of the front door are waving to every visitor now, yet another great find. The two boxwood plants with the new coats on suit the dooor perfectly. I must say that every visitor feel himself very welcome by such a new, fresh and lovely entrance of the Beary House ;). What to say about the porch's swing.....well, it's something for lazy summer evenings, or very early summer mornings, for getting a moment of relax. I love the upholstery, the fabric is so nice.
But you always amazes me with the most inventive ideas of your Birgit: metal charms for making planting boxes for the windows...!! What an excellent idea AND result, Fluby, you can be so proud of your clever Mom. What coincedence that there are waves in the charms. And these planting boxes now filled up with the famous Petunia Birgittiae, they look cheerful and wonderful for the Beary House!! Those plant boxes from AofM are gorgeous, not seen yet. And why not filled by the excellent choices of your both for plants........? Why didn't Birgit accept them, I don't have any idea :O
*grin*!!! But don't worry, Fluby, I'm pretty sure that you'll still get your needed points in the Golden Book of Santa, being a gentle beary as you are ;). The calendar has for the month of July a wise saying: "every day would be a small life on its own", it's so true....and we see the wishes :D!
Liebe Grüsse, Schepje, Little Me (who's walking sulking around on my work table, because the build of the farm has come temporarily to a halt ;O) und Ilona
Besos.
Wow! This turned out to be the most fantastic beary/beachhouse I've ever seen.
I love all the details, the post box with the shell/horn, the boat, the fish, the wavy glass. everything!
Yes, Mr. Flutterby, you won many good points in Santa's book just for leading this wonderful tour. Birgit deserves praises for doing a great job on renovating this house.
Hugs,
Drora
Somebody has been busy!! And all that hard work has paid off. I love all those little details for the porch, all of them perfectly in sync with the theme. I have to say that my favourite one is the glass window, it´s awesome! The entrance looks gorgeous and very inviting. I want to shrink to be able to enjoy such a beautiful spot. Big hugs to all of you.
Buen verano,besos:-)
Great idea for the little boat :))) I love the postbox it is wonderful. The porch is so welcoming I would love to sit on the swing seat and relax. Birgit has done an amazing job on this house I love everything about it. The flower boxes are awesome.
Hugs Maria
Lieber Fluby,
Dear Fluby and Rosey and Birgit too, I am late to comment, but happy to be able to report that I can see Wishes Everywhere! Lol! Yes, I have been weeding in my garden, where I "cultivate" a surprising number of "weeds"! :) But now for the real topic (not the one about shorter days already!) but the one about how Amazing the Transformation of the Beary House is looking!!! I just Love the many ways Birgit is working the Maritime theme into the project! The waves on the door are very lovely and the "Fishoflage" is sure to start a new design trend! :) The special effect frame for the House number 2 is totally sweet and unique! And I just love the mailbox with the house name and the "postal horn" decoration! Brilliant!!! As for the window boxes and planters... I am glad Birgit takes the flexible route with blossoms.... I could learn a thing or two from her! LOL! I am eagerly waiting to see what plants Birgit has made for the new planters! And I am absolutely determined Not to dwell on the shorter days and upcoming Holiday.... but we all know the clock is ticking! :):):)
The flower boxes are such a clever idea! I love them!
Your plant pots and flowers are stunning Birgit, and you're making such lovely progress with renovation of the house. Everything comes together once you have a theme to work with!
