 Hallo,

nun wird's aber Zeit, dass wir uns mal wieder melden. Birgit mag immer noch nicht so recht an ihren Basteltisch zurück kehren und hat auch viel im Garten zu tun, aber ein bisschen was zum Füllen eines Juni-Posts haben Rosey und ich dann doch gefunden. Und Ihr wisst ja... wenn gar nichts mehr geht, dann eben eine weitere Folge unserer *hüstel* Erfolgsserie "Und schon wieder jede Menge Bilder von BiWuBärchen im Garten". *breitgrins*

... once more it's time for us to drop by again. Birgit is still not very much in the mood to get back to her working desk and she also has a lot of work in the garden these days but Rosey and I still managed to find something to fill a June post. And you all know... if nothing else goes then it has to be another episode of our *coughcough* successful series "And once more many pictures of BiWuBearies in the garden". *broadgrin* 

Dazu kommen wir gleich, aber beginnen werden wir mit einem Detail vom Bärchenhaus, das wir noch nicht gezeigt haben - und mit dem wir uns auch erst mal von diesem Projekt verabschieden werden, denn die Renovierung ist ja nun abgeschlossen. Grund genug, Euch noch mal alle Räume im Ganzen zu zeigen. Und ein Rätsel haben wir auch noch wieder im Gepäck... ja, so gesehen wird dieser Post ein bunter Blumenstrauß aus diesem und jenem. Und beginnen werden wir wie gesagt mit der letzten noch fehlenden Ergänzung für das Bärchenhaus, das noch in Birgits Irgendwann-für-Irgendwas-Kisten geduldig auf seinen Einsatz wartete. Ein kleiner Bausatz von Arjen Spinhoven für eine Wetterfahne, die einfach pefekt für das Bärchenhaus ist.

We're coming to this soon but first we're starting with a detail for the Beary House which we have not shown so far - and with this we're going to say goodbye to this project for the moment because the renovation is done by now. Reason enough to show you once more all the rooms altogether. And we also have another riddle in store... yes, regarding all these things this post will become a flower bouquet filled with this and that. And as I already said we're starting right away with the last missing addition for the Beary House which was patiently waiting in Birgit's Sometime-for-Somewhat-boxes for its showtime. A little kit by Arjen Spinhoven for a weather vane which is just perfect for the Beary House.

Wie Ihr wisst, sollte daraus ein helles, freundliches Haus mit maritimem Thema und den Kernfarben weiß, rot und blau werden (also den Farben unserer Landesflagge) - und das Ergebnis sieht nun so aus:

You may remember that the intention was to turn it into a bright, friendly house with a maritime theme and the major colors being white, red and blue (which are the colors of our home state's flag) - and the result looks like this:

Ein Bild haben wir noch - und Birgit sagt, wenn sie dafür einen Titel finden müsste, würde sie sich für "Glück" entscheiden... *lach*

Mit "Glück" hat auch das Wenige zu tun, das an Birgits Basteltisch entstanden ist: Glückwunschkarten!

And the little things Birgit created at her working desk lately are also related to happiness: Greeting cards!

 Zwei mal für Hochzeiten und zwei mal für zwei neue Erdenbürger - und einer davon ist ein neues Familienmitglied, denn eine von Birgits Kusinen ist zum 2. Mal Mama geworden. Und wenn Ihr aufmerksam auf das folgende Bild schaut, könnt Ihr nicht nur den Namen sondern auch das komplette Geburtsdatum erkennen. 

Two are for weddings and two for welcoming two new earth inhabitants - one of them being a new family member because one of Birgit's cousins gave birth to her second child. And if you're having a close look at the following picture you could not only discover the name but also the date of birth.

Habt Ihr es herausgefunden? Genau, die kleine Lilli wurde am 12.05.22 geboren. Und wo wir schon mal bei Rätselfragen sind - wisst Ihr, wie lange es gedauert hat, die Freiheitsstatue zu bauen? Na...??? Überlegt ruhig... 

Have you been able to find it out? Sure, little Lilli was born in 22, May 12th. And while we're already dealing with riddles - do you know how long it took to build the Statue of Liberty? Well...??? Just think this over...

... und... habt Ihr eine Vermutung? Was hören wir da? Tja, tut uns leid... leider falsch... die richtige Antwort lautet nämlich: 18 Tage!

Ja, da staunt Ihr, oder? *grins* Aber wir haben nicht nach der Bauzeit der weltberühmten Einwohnerin von Liberty Island gefragt, sondern nach der Bauzeit von dieser Version hier:

Now you're amazed, aren't you? *grin* But we did not ask about the building time of the world famous inhabitant of Liberty Island but about the building time of this version:

Die kommt auf eine Größe von 380 cm und besteht aus ungefähr 50.000 LEGO-Steinen. Gut gemacht, das Teil, oder? Und apropos "gut"... wusstet Ihr, dass der Name "LEGO" vom Dänischen "leg godt" abgeleitet ist, was so viel wie "spiel gut" bedeutet? Und angefangen haben die mal mit Holzspielzeug... aber dann ein paar Jahre später die Steine entwickelt, die wir heute alle kennen und aus denen man so schöne Sachen bauen kann wie diesen süßen Fratz...

This one comes along in a size of about 380 cm and contains of about 50.000 LEGO bricks. Well done, this piece, isn't it? And speaking of "well"... did you know that the brand name "LEGO" comes from the Danish expression "leg godt" which means "play good"? And they started with wooden toys in the beginning... but a few years later they created the bricks we all know today and which offer the opportunity to build lovely things like this cute fellow...

Ja, es gab kürzlich eine LEGO-Ausstellung in Neumünster, also nicht weit von unserem Wohnort entfernt - und die hat Birgit sich nicht entgehen lassen. Ein weiteres Bild haben wir noch:

Ihr habt doch wohl nicht wirklich geglaubt, dass ich in diesem Monat aufgehört hätte, ein Gentlebär zu sein, oder? *breitgrins* Natürlich haben Rosey und ich unserer Birgit auch im Juni bei der Umstellung ihrer zahlreichen Kalender geholfen, denn... seien wir mal ehrlich... gewisse Feste am Jahresende, deren Name nicht genannt werden darf, sind gar nicht mehr so weit weg... und gewisse Flatterbärchen, deren Name aus Diskretionsgründen nicht genannt werden darf, können wie immer jeden Pluspunkt im Goldenen Buch des Weihnachtsmannes gut gebrauchen. ;O)

I really hope you did not expect me to stop being a gentlebeary this month... *broadgrin* Of course Rosey and I helped our Birgit once more with the update of her several calendars because... let's face it... certain holidays at the end of the year which shall not be named are not that far away anymore... and certain flutterybearies which shall not be named for reasons of discretion are as always in need of every good point in the Golden Book of Santa. ;O)

Advent, Advent... das 1. Lichtlein brennt

Hallo

 

und liebe Grüße zum 1. Advent! Nun ist es so weit... die wunderbare Weihnachtszeit beginnt nun ganz offiziell. *freu* Die Weihnachtsmärkte haben geöffnet, die Geschäfte überschlagen sich mit Rabatten, nächsten Donnerstag darf endlich das 1. Türchen vom Adventskalender geöffnet werden und heute entzünden wir die erste Kerze am Adventskranz. Und natürlich wurde bei uns die Weihnachtszeit schon längst eingeläutet mit dem lang ersehnten Ausruf meiner Birgit: "Ich hab' einfach zu viel Weihnachstgedönse!!!" *lach* Nun, ich kann Euch berichten, dass es Birgit auch dieses Jahr wieder gelungen ist, all ihr Weihnachtsgedönse rechtzeitig zum 1. Advent aufzubauen. Auch Strawberry Cottage hat sich rechtzeitig wieder zu Christmas Cottage verwandelt.
... and heartfelt greetings at the 1st Sunday of Advent! Not it's the time... when the wonderful Christmas season begins officially. *beams-with-joy* The Christmas Markets are now open, the shops started a battle of discounts, next Thursday I am finally allowed to open the fist door of my Advent calendar and today we are going to lit the first candle at our Advent wreath. And of course Christmas season was opened around here with the long awaited first exclamation by Birgit: "I have too much Christmas stuff for sure!!!" *LOL* Well, I can tell you that also in this year Birgit managed once more to find a place for all of her Christmas stuff and was done in time for Advent 1st. And of course Strawberry Cottage has changed into Christmas Cottage now.

              

             

Ah... ich liebe mein Zuhause! *schmunzel* Und natürlich hat auch der BiWuBären-Weihnachtsmarkt wieder geöffnet - Ihr dürft genau 1 x raten, wer heute noch dort hin geht, um liebe BiWuBärchenfreunde auf einen Punsch und ein paar Leckereien zu treffen... Und wem das zum Raten doch zu schwer ist *kicher*, da habe ich noch eine kleine visuelle Hilfestellung vorbereitet! Ihr wisst ja... einmal Gentlebär, immer Gentlebär (und ich kann nach wie vor jeden Pluspunkt im Goldenen Buch des Weihnachtsmannes gebrauchen... *schluck*)
Ah... I just love my home! *smile* And of course the BiWuBeary Christmas Market has opened again - and you can make just one single guess who is going to visit it later on to meet dear BiWuBeary friends to enjoy some mulled wine and some yummy treats... And in case you might find this riddle too tricky *giggle* I've prepared another visual helper! You know me... once a gentlebeary, always a gentlebeary (and I can still need every good point in Santa's Golden Book... *gulp*)
             

         

Birgit war gestern auch auf einem Weihnachtsmarkt... und zwar in Schwerin. Unnötig zu sagen, dass ich nicht mitdurfte - Birgit hat immer Angst, dass ich in dem Gedränge verloren gehen könnte. *seufz* Naja... da mag sie Recht haben... Weihnachtsmärkte werden ja auch von Taschendieben gerne besucht. Es ist nur immer ärgerlich, weil Birgit in dem Gedränge auch immer nicht ihre Kamera rausholen mag... alles was sie an Fotos mitgebracht hat, waren Bilder vom Schweriner Schloß. *seufz* Birgit hat nämlich eine Führung mitgemacht - durch den Teil, der sozusagen Museum ist, leider nicht in die Bereiche, wo der Landtag sitzt. Jedenfalls befindet sich das Schweriner Schloß auf einer künstlichen Insel, die man über eine prächtige Brücke erreicht. (Kleiner redaktioneller Hinweis: Menschen, die sich auf Birgits Fotos verirrt haben, wurden mit Hilfe von Photoshop unkenntlich gemacht)
Yesterday Birgit too visited a Christmas Market... in Schwerin (The capitol of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, one of the northern states of Germany and former part of the GDR). No need to tell that I wasn't allowed to go on that trip with her - Birgit is always afraid I might get lost in such a crowd. *sigh* Well... she might be right somehow... pickpockets too love to visit Christmas Markets. But it's always annoying when crowded places hold Birgit back from taking her camera out... the only pictures she brought home were photos from Schwerin Castle. *sigh* You must know Birgit joined a guided tour - visiting the parts that are somehow museum, sadly not to the parts that host the local parliament of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Anyhow, Schwerin Castle is placed on an artificial island and you need to approach via a splendid bridge. (Editor's note: All faces of human beings wandering through Birgit's photos have been treated with photoshop)

...wir haben Euch deshalb noch mal zwei Fotos aus unserem Archiv rausgesucht, die Birgit 2009 gemacht, als sie in Schwerin die Bundesgartenschau besucht hat.

So könnt Ihr das Schloß doch wenigstens mal in seiner ganzen Pracht bewundern. Nicht wirklich überraschend, dass sich die Erbauer die französischen Schlösser an der Loire zum Vorbild genommen haben, oder? Auch innen ist man fleißig am Renovieren und versucht auch, originale Möbelstücke zurück zu bekommen. Bedingt durch die Kriegswirren und die Zeit in der DDR ist doch einiges abhanden gekommen. Jeder Raum ist individuell gestaltet - teilweise sehr hell und leicht...
Now you are able to admire the castle in all its splendor. And it won't be a surprise that the builders took their inspiration from the French castles along the Loire, right? They're busy renovating the interior too and try to get back original furniture. Due to war time and the times of the GDR many pieces got lost. Every room has an individual look - sometimes very light...

Die Bilder zeigen einige Besonderheiten. Die Decken zum Beispiel, die ja aussehen wie kunstvoll verzierte Vertäfelungen, sind tatsächlich "Mecklenburger Pappmaché". Unglaublich... alles nur bearbeitetes Altpapier. Und es ist verblüffend, dass man das heutzutage nicht mehr nachmachen kann - man kennt zwar das "Rezept", weiß aber nicht mehr, wie man das handhaben muss. Zum Glück hat es sich ja sehr gut erhalten. Interessant ist auf den letzten beiden Bildern vom Salon des Herzogs auch das weiße Paneel an der Wand. Dort stand früher ein großer Kachelofen... der aber wie so vieles andere auch geplündert wurde und nun hat man aus Verlegenheit eine Vitrine davor gestellt. Und wenn Ihr Euch das Bild mit der Tischgruppe anschaut, dann wisst Ihr, auf welchen Stühlen der Herzog und die Herzogin gesessen haben. Noblesse oblige... *grins*
The pictures above show some interesting details. The ceilings for example look like panels being carved by skilled wood artists but they are indeed "Mecklenburger Pappmaché". Incredible... all of this is just treated paper. And it's stunning that they are not able to do this anymore - they know the "recipe" but not how to handle this. Luckily it's still in a very good condition. Interesting too is the white panel on the wall in the last two pictures of the Duke's salon. In former times there stood a big oven with tiles... but it got plundered together with many more pieces and they tried to mask this by placing a cabinet in front of it. And if you're looking at the picture with the table surrounded by chairs you can recognize on which chairs the duke and the duchess were sitting. Noblesse oblige... *grin*
