Einfache Entscheidungen / Easy decisions

Hallo,

ich kann es immer noch nicht fassen... August!!! In Worten: AUGUST!!! *schluck*
… I'm still not able to get this into my mind... August!!! In words: AUGUST!!! I can't believe it! Does anybody know what happened to July? Well, and now August... let's face it... not much time left until Christmas... and the opportunities to gain some good points in Santa's Golden Book get rarer and rarer. *gulp*

But honestly speaking, it's not always that easy to be nice all the time to make sure Santa will bring presents… it's in fact easier to celebrate a birthday. Like our silent blog reader aka Birgit's Mom aka our Grandma who traditionally celebrates her birthday at the beginning of August and - our longtime blog readers know this already - traditionally gets a BiWuBeary gift. And because the silent blog reader is well known to be a snowman fan Birgit is often sewing a new BiWuBear snow being for her. With big pleasure we can now proudly present the newest member of our BiWuBeary gang: Lady Tatiana de Winter!

*lach*
Naming her was very easy because this snow lady is proudly wearing a hat and a bag which we've received from our blog friend Tatiana for Christmas. Birgit says rarely before finding a name has been that easy... and making a decision went that fast. *LOL*

And of course it was also a very easy decision to invite Lady Tatiana first to a welcome "Kaffeeklatsch" at Strawberry Cottage.

As a little side bonus we're now able to show how beautifully made the hat is.

Decisions related to gifts from dear blog friends are a nice bridge to the next topic because we would also like to show you some news about the porch of the Beary House. The first to show are two garden chairs and a small table…

… made from a kit by Iriginals. Birgit added sticker lines to hide the joints of the parts before painting everything white.

B. ein gutes Buch lesen will.
But there were still some cushions missing for the chairs… because one would prefer to sit comfortable while for example reading a good book at the porch. Well, since I'm owning my new fabulous chair (which we've shown in May) my old chair cushion was lying unused in Birgit's Sometime-for-something-boxes… next to its twin.

We've received these chair cushions as a gift from Fabiola some time ago… and they fit perfectly on the new garden chairs. However they do not fit as well to Birgit's color scheme for the Beary House which is of course blue-white-red. So it was time for another decision - keeping up with the color scheme versus perfect fitting, ready to use chair cushions being given to us by a dear friend. My, if all decisions were as easy to make as this one! *LOL* This is how it looks now:

Green is such a lovely color… this will fit indeed. And this is also true for gifts given to us by another very special blog friend - which is called Ilona. *wink* In fact we're talking about some orange roses which Birgit received from Ilona for two very special occasions - last year for her birthday…

Link zu / to Ilona's blog: https://minimumloon.blogspot.com/

… and back when Ilona visited us together with Schepje. A good opportunity to show once more the "Kaffeeklatsch" photo we've taken back then.

It always makes us smile how similar the Dutch flag (held by Rosey) is to ours (held by me). Maybe you remember - the flag of our home state Schleswig-Holstein was Birgit's inspiration for the color scheme of the Beary House. But back to the orange colored roses - as all flowers created by Ilona these are stunning masterpieces… but so far we did not have the right place for them. Sadly orange is a color that doesn't fit in Strawberry Cottage... and not at all in Flower Cottage... and Bowler's Snowball House is of course much too cold for roses. But a little patch of orange in the Beary House - this will work… no doubt about it. And so the birthday roses will find a place at the Beary House's porch in some near future…

*schmunzel*
… and the orange rose bouquet will get a place in the Beary House's living room some day. And this was yet another easy decision. *smile*

Not as fast to decide however was the question what to do with the geranium pots which hung in front of the windows in the old version of the Beary House.

*huch?*
But Birgit managed to find an answer - and this starts with a pallet! *huh?*

Well, pallet furniture are for sure a big garden trend nowadays… *grin* But Birgit did not need the whole pallet, just a part of it.

This would make a nice shelf or planting box for sure. But Birgit needed it this way...

… as a small storage table where one of the geranium pots will find its place in the future.

And if you're having a closer look you might discover that the pot did not only get a white coat of paint but also that the plant is bigger now. Birgit simply took the blossoms and leaves out of two pots and arranged them new in one pot… and stored the second, now empty one in one of her Sometime-for-something-boxes. And now there was only one thing missing for the new porch: A garden lantern.

Birgit made these once more from a kit by Iriginals (see above for the link) but she thought there was something missing still... But this is of course nothing that couldn't be healed easily.

The lantern standing left in the picture will go into the Christmas House that's why it wasn't painted yet. And of course a candle will be added still - as soon as Birgit will get out her polymer clay again some day. And as I'm already mentioning Birgit's other big project, the Christmas House... there's really not much time left until Christmas. So do I have to mention at all that I've earned myself some good points in Santa's Golden Book again at the month's beginning by helping my Birgit with the update of her several calendars? The August photo of our wisdom calendar seems to be in an early autumn mood… and the saying is by Rene de Masny, she said happiness would consist of many dreams and a bit of reality.

Regarding this we're wishing to all of you an August with many dreams and a bit of reality! And the next time we're going to show to you how the porch looks like after being decorated after all these decisions! ;O)

Liebe Grüße / Hugs
Flutterby

What a marvelous post to sip my artificially sweetened breakfast water to (it's too hot here for warm beverages!)!
Your mom must be absolutely thrilled with Tatiana and her adorable little purse and hat! I imagine the mints in her purse must be Ice Breakers, lol! Her nose is just too stinking cute!
The garden scene all set up with the gang and goodies was such a pleasure to look at! Such lively red and white flowers, and until you pointed out that the flags were different, I did not notice they were opposites! I guess I will have Golden Book points taken away for not knowing my world flags!
The crisp white table and chairs with their charming little cushions look so comfy and inviting, and Ilona's roses are a marvel in their vibrant orange splendor! I am so glad that you will be able to display them in the Bärchenhaus, and the vases really do them justice!
The pallet furniture is awesome, and I love them painted in that happy blue! When set against the beautifully full geranium planter, it's a match made in heaven! Those lanterns are also awesome, and I love how you have made each one a perfect complement to it's environment! Now I am even more eager to see the entirety of both project in photos!
Wise words to live by in the calendar! I hope you get lots more dreaming time than reality time!

I've certainly enjoyed reading about your new Tatiana snowlady, and her special hat and matching handbag. It is so much fun when your special blogger gifts can be so beautifully displayed on someone so special as Lady Tatiana de Winter!
Birgits snow-bearys are so magical they can easily withstand any kind of weather throughout the year so a BIG WELCOME to milady! :D
I love the scene of her visiting the Strawberry garden and partaking of those elegant refreshments on such a glorious summers day! The revamped potted geraniums, painted garden table and chair with the perfect cushions from Faby along with the roses from Ilona, round out a Delightful visit with the BiWuBears.
I'm looking forward to another invitation Real Soon as I'm sure that more Red, White and Blue, as well as the Christmas House are just around the next corner!

Ulrike

Oh, how beautiful lady Tatiana looks with her gorgeous hat and handbag! A perfect and loving gift for Birgit's mom.
And. I agree these exquisite roses will look ravishing anywhere. Faby's cushions look lovely on the new chairs. How wonderful to be able to use and display our friends' beautiful gifts.
The painted and double filled geranium box is stunning.
For me, the only sad thing about the suddenly disappearing months is that I'm getting older more quickly.
Hugs, Drora

How beautiful is Lady Tatiana with her hat and purse. What a great time you spend in the garden so beautiful. The chairs look beautiful with their new cushions, they seem custom-made, and those lanterns will shine beautifully in the evening. It has been a great idea to cut the pallet in half to place the geraniums. A big hug to the all Biwubar family, especially Birgit.
