1-2-3

Hallo,

… oh my, now it's really time that we're showing up again… our blog got covered with dust in the meantime. *LOL* Or in the words of our dear friend Ulrike (who happens to have the same experience): "Oh my! Now half of February is over again and I did not write a single post at all." And because we haven't seen each other for some time we've brought along with us a little kiss for you…

A truly sweet one… *giggle* But we're going to tell the story behind this a little later. Now as promised (or perhaps as threatened… a decision everybody needs to make for him-/herself *grin*) we'd like to introduce the three Christmas elves En, To and Tre a little more who already had their big showtime in our post for Advent 3rd. Here they are - and as soon as I've told you that en, to, tre is Danish for one, two, three you will be easily be able to tell who is who.

When she started to make plans for the Christmas House Birgit knew right away that this could never be complete without tiny Christmas elves. Deciding this was easy... but realizing it was quite a challenge because so far Birgit had never made anything in the range of elf-lookalikes before. And it didn't get any easier after deciding that the elves should be movable - and tiny… and not just tiny but so tiny that they would match with scale 1:48. But Birgit faced this challenge - and started to turn wire into a body structure. After adding elven shoes and hands (who are in fact really tiny but look still so huge… *seufz*) as well as some glue for some belly growth and some first touches of paint it looked like this:

Danach hat Birgit in Sachen Kleidung getüftelt...
Then Birgit struggled with the clothes…

… and after this she made these three *coughcough* character heads out of polymer clay.

"erkunden"):
And right away after they were finished after one more date with Birgit's brushes those three started to explore everything and everybody/-beary (which is a very polite description of the fact that these three appeared to be Trio Infernale, each of them being a first-class pain in the neck but I'm not allowed to say this aloud… you know by now… after the Golden Book is before the Golden Book... eh... where was I... oh yes… "explore"):

But not just Rosey and I had to suffer from being declared to be a playground, those three also discovered Strawberry Hut and felt comfortable there at once (I suppose this has something to do with this wonderful red-green-color-combination… sigh… red and green… red like strawberries… green like strawberry leaves… could there bee a more beautiful color combination in the world???... eh... let's continue…)

But in the beginning poor Mini-Fluby did not know what to think of this invasion!

But due to the fact that all flutterybearies - whether they are proud 9 beary centimeters tall or of the miniminikind - are friendly hosts he became friends with the three elves very fast and had a long conversation with To.

Pfoten...
That's nice, now Rosey and I know the three rascals… eh... little guys, that's what I wanted to say of course, are in good hands... eh... paws...

... that's why we can take care of other things now. Like for example showing the calendar picture for February - of course I've helped my Birgit once more in this month with the update of her several calendars. You know me - I'm a gentlebeary from top to toe. And I don't know if I've ever mentioned this before but one can never start too early to earn some good points in Santa's Golden Book. *grin* This February our wisdom calendar is showing a pair of swans and a saying by Eleanor Roosevelt. She said the future would belong to those who would believe in the truthfulness of their dreams.

A very nice thought from her because dreams are for sure a very special type of fuel... and this is also true for daydreams. I don't know about you... but whenever speaking of daydreams I can't help to think of a very special blogger at once - a miniaturist who not only dreams the most beautiful dreams but is also able to bring them to reality in a most impressive way. *smile* I'm sure you all know by now of whom I'm talking here... but there's a very good reason why I'm mentioning our dear friend Betsy now. Remember my promise that I would tell you about those chocolaty kisses? Well, there were quite some of them coming over to us from the other side of the Atlantic Ocean...

... and Betsy sent them over to us together with these awesome embellishments.

But I suppose you've already guessed that these items were just fantastic sidekicks for the true burner Betsy sent to us:

Hurra!!!
Hooray!!! Also for 2019 we got our own copy of Betsy's legendary Christmas card!!! How great is that??? And once more Betsy managed to create a stunning masterpiece which shows next to many family moments of course also the creation of her four seasonal lilac shrubs. And just have a look who is standing in front of the winter lilac waving hello!!!

It's our Cloude - who was our Christmas gift for Betsy. My… Birgit was indeed very touched when she noticed that her snow being made it to become a part of Betsy's awesome card. But there was so much more to be discovered on that card like for example the making of the lilac blossoms or the sewing of the quilt which was given to Grand-père by Daphne and Renee.

And also Penny Wooden got a prominent place, Betsy introduced her to us last year… although most of us have been familiar with her for long because she's Betsy's icon. Now she's watching Betsy while drawing her masterpiece...

… and I guess she's as fascinated as we are because in the main picture of the Christmas card we can see how Betsy is drawing exactly this card… in which we can see how Betsy is drawing this card… in which once more Betsy is drawing exactly this card. Isn't this incredible??? Betsy's cards are for sure masterpieces in EVERY way!

But I wonder… have you been able to notice how much we're over the moon with this surprise gift??? But this wasn't all yet… because there was also this box included.

And in this we've found - very well packed - a small wonder:

One of Betsy's legendary lilac blossoms!!! Made for us!!! We are over the moon!!! We've tried a close up to show you how well made the shading of the lilac florets and leaves is.

As I said: We tried. *grin* Sadly the camera wasn't very helpful but we hope that you've been able to get at least an impression.

Dearest Betsy, thank you so much for making our day with your wonderful, fantastic, awesome and thoughtful gifts - but even more for the gift of friendship. Oh, and not to forget… of course also for sending home that certain package box. *teehee*

And with this we're saying goodbye for today and wish to you a fantastic time for the remaining days of February - in our case hopefully without any more heavy thunderstorms. *sigh* And remember to believe in the truthfulness of your dreams! ;O)

Liebe Grüße / Hugs
Flutterby

Dear Fluby and Rosey and especially Birgit, I am so glad my package (in the familiar trusty box) made it quickly across the Ocean with its message of Kisses and blossoms and friendship! I don't know how it is, but Birgit's pictures of my card are always better than mine! LOL! It is such a joy to share these mini Dream-worlds with others who can remember the names of the little "people" in the pictures, and know what stories they are showing! Thank you for being such an inspiring blog-friend!
And speaking of inspiring.... those little elves are just SO Perfect.... they are exactly like the ones I have been drawing in my Christmas cards for years... so I know they are the real thing! LOL! Not to mention their names are Wonderful.... and their buttons a dead give-away! :):) But even more Wonderful to my way of thinking is that they are the 1:48 size creatures... this is the size of the Tree House inhabitants! And Birgit has used the same methods I used for the Rats! I must say, there is something about that size that is just enchanting to me!!! :):) So you can tell, I am sure, how much I LOVE these Elves!!! And I am eagerly looking forward to seeing more tales of their "explorations".... I think it is great that Mini-Fluby could share his Tiny Cottage... but I am Sure Birgit has other housing in mind for them! :):):)

Ulrike

Halloooo, I am so glad to see a blogpost from you, dearies!!
I now see that your Birgit has been very busy, wow, the making of these three rascals in green and red must have been quite a challenge! These are movable, and in more than one way, you must have your paws full with them, Fluby, but I see you finally could handle them a bit ;O. But despite their behaviour, they look fantastic, your Birgit has done a great job. She has outdone herself, because of her arms/hands, and the making must have been a meticulous, teeny tiny job. They look naughty guys to me, and I can know this since I have got a lot of experience with rascals at this moment ;O.
It's nice to see mini Fluby once again, and he is such a friendly bearie, because he offers these new rascals a home.
Your Birgit is lucky to receive one of Betsy's selfmade, famous and awesome Christmas Cards. It's a work of art, a true masterpiece, and the fact that Cloude was on the card must have been a big surprise for Birgit. I am so delighted that Fluby/Birgit now shows us more of the miraculous details of this awesome card, because to me it's even more amazing now of how you've drew this card (so this is meant for Betsy, I hope she'll read it!). And Betsy kindly sent some sweet kisses with it, so it's sent with love :)! BUT......what a huge surprise for all of you to find one of Betsy's famous Lilacs in the box: it's a true miracle, how perfect it looks!!
I hope you were safe for the last storm your Victoria/our Dennis? How odd that your storm was a woman, after he was here quite a strong man just before he crossed the German border a few kilometers from my home *grin* ;O) (thankfully he left without lots of damage, except for lots of trees fallen, again).
Liebe Grüsse to you all (including your silent reader ;O),
Schepje (who is a bit sad since we haven't totally had not a bit of frost, or snow, or coldness this past winter) und Ilona

Welcome back dear friends, please don´t worry you are not the only ones who have disappeared for a while in Blogland, *cough*cough*. I want to congratule Birgit, those tiny elves are precious, I know Fluby you find them a little bit, mmm let´s say too active, but aren´t they adorable? I think they are!
And of course I cannot leave without commenting Betsy´s wonderful gift. I understand why Birgit feels so honour, Betsy´s cards are a Christmas item like snowflakes or baubles, or Birgit´s Christmas market, you know what I mean. They are unique and special and I am very happy that Birgit got one and also got her beautiful gift featured in the Card, awesome! Have you all a very happy rest of February 😊😘

Oh Birgit En, To and Tre are such jolly little fellows and their faces so lively and sweet! Marvelous job, and also amazing costuming!!! I love the candy cane buttons distinguishing one from another! How does one sculpt things so impossibly small?!? And tiny Fluby? PRECIOUS!
Like you, Betsy is also a marvel of creation, with so many layers of talent and creativity that each encounter leaves you delighted and inspired to try something marvelous yourself! And just to prove your divine origins and sacred mission, each of you, like fairy dust, spreads kindness and love wherever you go, even digitally! I am so happy that you received Betsy's card, and that you can truly appreciate all of the amazing things she includes to make it outstanding!
