Schachtelblumen

Hallo,

*grins*
… it's us… And it's about time that we're showing up again - we don't want our blog to get covered with dust. *grin*

Well, we haven't been in the mood for blogging for some time... it's the calendar's fault because for us this time is full of sad memorial days. Anyhow… we thought it would be nice to start right away with a little handicraft with flowers. After all we've missed Valentine's Day and at this time of the year flowers are especially welcome. Do you know "flower boxes"? They are quite trendy at the moment and oh so stylish... which means Birgit isn't related to them *teehee*… not to speak about their heavy prices (although for reasons of fairness we need to mention that mostly flower boxes contain of preserved roses who will last for years). But after reading a tutorial lately in a newsletter of our favorite online craft shop about selfmade flower boxes Birgit came up with the idea that in miniature these things might be quite nice. First thought, then done… and the first step was a look into the somewhen-for-somewhat-boxes. And hooray, Birgit did not only find some paper roses who were just right for this purpose but also two small boxes.

Of course it would also be great to make the boxes out of nice papers but in the end Birgit has her somewhen-for-somewhat-boxes to make somewhen something out of this stuff. *broadgrin* So Birgit grabbed her brushes and painted the boxes. Afterwards she searched for some nice labels in the internet (one of them is a frame in which Birgit has added the word "Flower Box"), next to come were a few coats with glossy varnish and finally pieces of very thin paper were glued to the boxes' edges. This is how it looked like:

The rest was easy and fast to make - a bit of polymer clay (Birgit used air dry clay) was pressed into the box and the paper roses were cut to a size that the flowers would just peep over the edge… et voilà!

A nice little craft along… and needless to say that my little sis' was very fond of this. But this was just an in-between project next to the bigger projects Birgit is planning for this year. We have mentioned one of these very often so far so it's about time that we're finally going to show you the beginning of this. Nevertheless… somehow we've already done this… because the first picture of this post was taken in exactly this new project which is so far called "The Christmas House". Well, strictly speaking it should be called "The Christmas room boxes" because we can't really call this a house. See, Birgit is just stacking three big room boxes.

Originally she had just planned with two, but four rooms turned out to be not enough for Birgit's ideas. At the moment (You know this well… you're never ending the way you've planned it at the beginning) Birgit is planning a big kitchen, a work room, a living room and a bedroom on two floors. And the third floor… well, what am I supposed to say… this one is a Birgit-project… and Birgit's projects always need enough space for crazy... eh... creative Birgit-ideas. For now I'm not going to tell anything about this… But I can already show you that those openings for the doors which looked like this in the beginning...

… inzwischen richtige Türen passen.
… were treated in the meantime to make real doors fit in there now.

And the rooms' walls were carefully loosened to make sure that all the rooms are not of the same size and the doors at the same place because this would look way too boring.

Now Birgit will be able to fix this to her likings and needs, maybe like this:

You see, we will still continue the "christmassy" way for a while following Birgit's motto "After Christmas is before Christmas"! *LOL* Anyhow Christmas can sometimes happen at surprising calendar days… if for example a surprise package is delivered coming all the way from Massachusetts to us. Yes, we've received a late Christmas greeting coming from Betsy - bringing to us so much joy!

(Link zu / to Betsy's blog: http://aboutmydollhouses.blogspot.com/)

And what amazing treasures we have found in this package, have a look:

Fantastic charms and pearls that would also be great as flower pots. And you know, another Birgit-motto is "One can never have enough dragons" *grin* And we've also received beautiful papers...

… und auch diese Sticker sind ein Traum:
… and these stickers too are a dream come true:

We already know who will be the lucky one to get them in a far away future… but we go on with the the next treasures because we've also received some awesome pieces of fabric:

Birgit is especially happy about this big piece of "leather" which looks so worn and used - just perfect for magical pieces of furniture. Speaking about magical… why do we have to think of Betsy's wizard and her legendary Halloween posts while looking at this incredibly beautiful organza fabric? Hmmmm… *wink* But of course Betsy did not only think about how to keep Birgit occupied, she also did not forget certain beary members of the house!

Schokolade!!! Moment mal...
Chocolate!!! With raspberries… almost as good as strawberries… yummy… eh... wait a moment...

* * *
Flutterby: (sprachlos)
Rosey: Paws away… may I remind you of the house rule?
Flutterby: (speechless)
Rosey: I'm sorry, Fluby - if it is pink it belongs to me. And this very yummy chocolate is for sure very pink... well, and raspberries too have to be added to the pink section…
Flutterby: (speechless)

Rosey (lacht): Du solltest mal Dein Gesicht sehen!!! Herrlich!!!
Rosey (laughing): You should have seen your face!!! Great!!! Don't worry, Fluby... the fact that this chocolate belongs to me doesn't mean that I'm supposed to eat it all on my own. For example I might hand one over to my big brother...
Flutterby: Just one??? My, if it was strawberry chocolate I would have shared a whole half with you!
Rosey (grinning): It's somehow hard for me to believe this...
Flutterby (outraged): Hey, what you're saying...
Rosey (laughing): Calm down... I'm only able to give just one chocolate to you - but I too will only get one myself because the other two are meant for Birgit and the silent blog reader.
Flutterby: Okayyyyy... my... if it's like this...

* * *

That's once more so typical for my little sis'... she's already gaining herself good points in Santa's Golden Book. *sigh* I really wish I was as good as her in doing so... but back to Betsy's gifts because in the package there was still something waiting... something very special... a treasure we are going to keep and cherish - as we already do with the ones we've received in the years ago. Yes, all of you who know Betsy know it by now - we are now the proud owners of one of Betsy's Christmas cards for the year 2018. Nevertheless... card is for sure not the right expression... these drawings are true pieces of art!

And they're always showing among other events the miniature projects Betsy was working on during the past year. And of course the lilac shrub Betsy is making for the garden of her house "The Folly" got a prominent place in the drawing.

But did I say lilac shrub... oops... no, lilac shrubs... because Betsy would not be Betsy if she would not be creating four identical ones at the same time, one for each season. And for the spring lilac in bloom she is adding a blossom each week to make sure one day it will be a shrub blooming in full splendor. However this will now happen one week later because Betsy has attached one of the tiny florets of her lilac blossoms to her Christmas cards - one for each card. Can you spot ours at the picture?

And right under this you can discover something that made Birgit extra happy - Marmalade and Buttercup who have visited Betsy together with Betsy's sister last year made it also on the card - as well as the BiWuBeary gang of the Cloud Palace who was able to enjoy a lightened Christmas tree last year (with a light chain sent by Birgit).

Birgit is always especially happy whenever she can spot her bearies at Betsy's cards… but it's also pure joy for her to discover all those tiny special details on Betsy's cards… like for example in the "Lovely Old Dollhouse" shown in the background.

This brings back sweet memories of wonderful posts by Betsy published in the last year… and it's so much fun to meet old friends… like Pollyanna who is so thrilled to work on her dollhouses. Or her husband Arthur who's taking a nap meanwhile - he's very supportive. Or the nativity with the camel that has its own secret because it never tells whether its place is on the right or left side of the fireplace. And not to forget Beth, the Little Dreamer, who is still dreaming herself into the "Secret Christmas House". Or… well, there's so much to discover in Betsy's incredibly beautiful and detailed drawings. But there was one more detail that made Birgit extremely happy:

Dearest Betsy - once more but this time from this place: Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for spoiling us rotten and for making our day!!! We're over the moon with your gifts and you know we're going to cherish our collection of your gorgeous cards forever!

Endlich!!!
Finally!!! Finally Betsy's beloved hinges made it onto a Christmas card!!! This was about time for sure - let's not forget that Betsy is known as the "Queen of Hinges"! *teehee* But we've received yet another late Christmas greeting - coming from our dear blog friend Yvonne from Switzerland who is an outstanding photographer. For thus the calendar with Yvonne's photos is a feast for the eyes - and also in this year there's a special picture of a dandelion. (In German we've got a special expression for a dandelion in this state which is "Pusteblume"... literally translated this would be blow flower in English)

This is a true burner, isn't it? But this picture is dedicated for May - and we're still finding ourselves in February. Of course I've helped my Birgit at this month's beginning once more with the update of her several calendars, you know me, once a gentlebeary, always a gentlebeary. Believe it or not but Rosey likes the February picture of our wisdom calendar very much. *rolls-his-eyes* The saying is this time by Friedrich Hebbel, he said who believes in happiness will have happiness… at least something like this. You must know that the German expression "Glück" has a lot of meanings… we use it not only for happiness but also for joy and for luck.

*grins*
Until now Birgit had a lot of "Glück" in the meaning of luck which made her very happy - in the case of dates with her snow shovel. So far we didn't have much snow and at the moment we're experiencing an extraordinary early spring. But when it snowed for the first time at our place in January Rosey and I visited at once our garden (of course wrapped up in our warm and cozy scarves). We're going to show them to you still - because this is volume 93904 of our series  "And once more many pictures of BiWuBearies in the garden". *grin*

And with this we're saying goodbye for now - with best wishes for the remaining days of February. And don't stop to believe in happiness! ;O)

Liebe Grüße / Hugs
Flutterby

1. Post in 2019 - darauf einen Kaffeeklatsch!

Hallo,

*lach*
here it is - our 1st post in the new year. That's why Rosey and I thought: This is for sure worth a "Kaffeeklatsch"-post! *LOL*

I suppose you've noticed that we're greeting out of a very special mug today. Of course special because once more this very handsome flutterybeary can be seen on it. *grin* But also because there's a saying on it that's worth to be remembered:

A "Kaffeeklatsch" is always a great idea!!!
Enjoy one, two cups of tasty coffee or tea…

That's right - a "Kaffeeklatsch" can never be wrong. But this mug is also special because it has been among the Christmas gifts that Birgit has given to our dear friend Ilona - which makes it perfect for appearing in today's post. Our first post in a new year is traditionally reserved for a showcase of our Christmas gifts. You may remember - at Christmas Eve many packages were waiting to be opened by the actual world champion in opening packages in the beary class up to 10 cm. This is how Birgit's craft table who always becomes part of the decoration during Christmas time looked before the gift opening:

So many presents… one was even delivered at the morning of Christmas Eve. We've received another one right after Christmas at December 27th and another one not until January 5th - but at least still in time for the Day of the 3 Kings. *smile* Well, because we have to show a lot we're starting right away with our parade of fantastic gifts chosen with so much care by blogfriends who have been thinking of us so gently. And we've decided to do it alphabetically that's why we're starting with the gifts from Alex.

This looks so yummy that you'd want to take a bite… well, despite of the plant of course. But I'm wondering now if Alex wanted to tell me something with this… because according to the house rule (red for Fluby, pink for Rosey) the dish with the vegetables is meant for me. Hmmm… oh no… this is just a funny coincidence! *grin* Thank you very much, dear Alex! We had already shown the gifts from Drora and Fabiola in our Advent posts that's why we're continuing with the Christmas greeting from Hannah.

A colourful bouquet of fantastic and very useful items - and we all are fascinated by these peach halves. Nevertheless… we have to admit it... what fascinated us the most was this one:

Was für ein tolles Steckenpferd!!! Vielen Dank, liebe Hannah!
What a gorgeous hobby horse!!! Thank you very much, dear Hannah! And now we're getting to the Christmas gifts coming from our dear Ilona - who apparently wanted to make sure that Birgit doesn't get bored some day.

Link zu / to Ilona's Blog: https://minimumloon.blogspot.com/)

Schaut selbst:
Not just one, not two, no, three pieces of fabrics for mini bears. But this wasn't all yet; in a beautiful golden box we've found something that Ilona had made just for us. Look:

Photos can't do justice to this masterpiece - we are over the moon with this incredibly awesome work. Thank you very much, dear Ilona! We continue with the Christmas greeting coming from Jodi - in which this card was included:

Link zu / to Jodi's Blog: https://my-miniaturemadness.blogspot.com/)

And believe us - we've been indeed merry and bright when finding all these treasures:

All of this is just incredibly beautiful!!! And what touched us especially - Jodi invented just for us - who are known for being no tea drinkers - a coffee version and created this package of coffee just for us. How great is that??? Thank you very much, dear Jodi. And the next in line is the Christmas greeting from Maria.

Jede Menge Leckeres *yummy*…
And once more we've received a big bunch of many fantastic pieces, many of them being just perfect for the projects Birgit is planning for this year. Yes, you've read it well… plural... but we're going to tell you more about this another time, now we're continuing with the Christmas gifts coming from Nina and the Riversiders. Plenty of sweet treats *yummy*...

Link zu / to Nina's Blog: http://at-the-periwinkles.blogspot.com/)

… a very lovely soap and three gorgeous handmade pumpkins (The Witch Tower Crew says "Thanks!")

Und außerdem diese tolle Szene:
And we've also found this little vignette:

Könnt Ihr das erkennen? Das sind tatsächlich Kekse in Teddyform! Vielen Dank, liebe Nina!
Have you been able to spot this? These are actual cookies in the shape of teddies! Thank you very much, dear Nina! And now we can finally show you the gift coming from our dear friend Rosanna - which was delivered with the help of this well-known big online shop starting with ama- and ending with -zon that's why it arrived unwrapped.

Link zu / to Rosanna's Blog: http://rosanna-theredhouse.blogspot.com/)

Tolle Ornamente...
Isn't this a true burner??? Birgit is already excited to work with this kit... thank you very much, dear Ro! And Tatiana too has spoiled us so much - in a beautiful handmade box loads of treasures have arrived here. Fantastic ornaments…

… und wunderschöne Weihnachtsdeko.
… and beautiful Christmas decoration.

We're hoping you're able to see that there's a reindeer in the middle. But this wasn't all yet, we've also received a big basket filled with apples and a stapling toy.

And believe it or not; this toy even works!

But Rosey should better not have any illusions about the use of this awesome hat and the gorgeous handbag… although there is of course pink involved one can't deny that my little sis' has - like myself - in fact no hat face… and even more… the silent blog reader said at once that this would be just perfect for a future snow lady. I do suppose that Birgit shares this opinion… but there can't be any doubt about the destination of this awesome guy:

Der gehört natürlich eindeutig in magische Hände. Vielen Dank, liebe Tatiana!
This one belongs for sure into magical hands. Thank you very much, dear Tatiana! And also our dear Tine knew exactly how to make us happy.

Link zu / to Tine's Blog: http://sophies-dailys.blogspot.com/)

Süßes und Kalender gehen hier immer! *lach* Vielen Dank, liebe Tine.
Around here sweets and calendars are always a good choice! *LOL* Thank you very much, dear Tine. Our dear Ulrike must have had something like this in mind too because she also gave a calendar to us.

This is btw a very stunning piece because there are three different parts enabling you to combine the pictures and sayings to your likings. I've spontaneously chosen a combination:

Ist das schön oder ist das schön??? Hach...
Is this lovely or is this lovely??? The saying says laughter would remind of butterflies' wings. My… strawberries… I could have a bowl full right away… but Rosey and Birgit are clearing their throats well audible, so: Thank you very much, dear Ulrike! And now we're coming to the gifts from Véronique - which arrived in a big green box. Inside we've found a beautiful card…

… und jede Menge wunderschöne Ornamente und Fimostangen.
… and plenty of nice ornaments and polymer clay canes.

But this wasn't all yet, Véronique did not forget to generously think of the Witch Tower Crew.

The dragon skeleton, the unicorn frame and the mysterious piece which is according to Véronique a "purba" belong for sure into magical paws. But as far as these yummy Belgian chocolates are concerned which we've received… well, Rosey and I do also know the spell that makes them disappear. *grin* But we also got something handmade from Véronique that will be perfect for Birgit's Christmas house project - a beautiful poinsettia pot and an awesome nutcracker.

Seht mal:
We are over the moon - thank you very much, dear Véronique. And this was the end of our Christmas gifts on parade… well… almost… because there's still one we haven't shown yet. It's another present coming from Ilona... which she had bought especially for Birgit... It was made by Bas Middel from Poppen(T)huis and is for sure a real burner. Have a look:

Ein Luxusmodell von Hexenbesen - ein Heksus 2018! Wie toll ist das denn??? Danke, danke, liebe Ilona!
A luxury version of a witch's broom - a Heksus 2018! How great is that??? Thank you so much, dearest Ilona! Nevertheless… I'm wondering now… maybe I could just once… just thinking… I might have a try...

Rosey: Bist Du verrückt??? Denk nicht mal dran!
Flutterby: Warum denn nicht? Was soll da schon groß passieren?
Rosey: Are you nuts??? Don't dare to even think about that!
Flutterby: But why not? What ever could happen?
Rosey: You're no magical beary! You need to be able to master these magical things otherwise it can become really dangerous.
Flutterby: Did your boyfriend tell you so? Come on, I got wings…
Rosey: Yes, but not the tiniest clue how to direct a magical broom… (Twinkling stars start to appear) Oh, thanks goodness - here comes the cavalry… if you refuse to listen to me.

(Gertie Gumthrop appariert)
Gertie: Fluby!!!
(Gertie Gumthrop apparates)
Gertie: Fluby!!! I almost got a stroke when my crystal bowl howled out an alarm… You know quite well that magical things can not be used just so.
Flutterby: Sorry, but I was just thinking out loud. But... ehem... now, that you're already here, Gertie... couldn't I give it a try now being under magical observation?!
Gertie (sighing): Okay, but just once… and only if you promise that you're never going to try anything like this without magical help.
Flutterby (climbs onto the broom being excited): Promised! How do I start this thing?

Rosey (giggling): And I was worried about him… and now he can't even make the broom start to move.
Gertie (smiling): Well, you need to know the right commands for sure, listen now: (For reasons of security we're not going to publish the commands how to fly a magical broom here - we don't want to lead anybody into temptation and most important not to endanger anyone!)
Flutterby: (mutters the magical spell and lifts up into the air… nevertheless… well… let's just say it this way… he's flying "freestyle")

Flutterby:  Holla!
Flutterby: Whoops! This is the speedy type for sure!
Rosey (whispering): Please take good care of him!
Gertie (whispering): Don't worry, Rosey, the broom is totally under my control. But your brother really needs to learn his lesson. (Shouts up to Flutterby): Did you understand now that this isn't as easy as you supposed it to be? I'm going to help you a little more.

Flutterby: Juhuuuuu… das macht voll Spaß! So was würde mir auch gefallen!
Flutterby: Yippiiieeee… this is so much fun! I really would like one too!
Gertie: Better don't get used to it... so, now I'm bringing you back down.
Flutterby: Oh noooo… already??? This is pure fun!
Gertie: (brings the magical broom back to earth)

Rosey (grinst): Echt sportliche Landung!
Rosey (grinning): Quite a sporty landing!
Flutterby: Ouch… flying was so much better.
Gertie: What would you suppose why broom flying is a mandatory lecture at every magical school? I've already told you that this is not as easy as it looks like.
Flutterby: Okay, okay... I have noticed that I would not have mastered this without your help. So thank you… and I might come along to try it again.
Rosey: Good Heavens… this was just missing still... my flutterybearybrother plans to get a witch's broom flying licence. I guess my nerves and I are in need of a "Kaffeeklatsch" now!

I really don't like to admit it but sometimes it can be noticed that Rosey is my little sis' - not only because every now and then she makes quite good suggestions but even more because she's almost as good with bridges to new topics as I am. *teehee* But I still need to point out that no stuntbeary was involved in the taking of the previous action scenes! *grin* And now we're wishing to you loads of fun with a nice Sundayafternoon-"Kaffeeklatsch" with one, two cups of tasty Sundayafternooncoffee and one, two, three, four pieces of yummy Sundayafternooncake. At least Ilona will always be reminded of this because the back side of her new mug looks like this:

And this is all for today - nevertheless I can't say goodbye without showing the calendar picture for January. You did not really expect me to stop being a gentlebeary from top to toe in the new year?! Of course I've helped my Birgit to hang up her numerous calendars - besides… just among us… after the Golden Book is before the Golden Book... you can never start too early to earn yourself some good points. *grin* So here it is - the picture for January with a saying by Buddha who said there would be no way to happiness; happiness would be the way.

There's nothing to add to this saying. And with this we're wishing to all of you a great January and much joy on your way to happiness. ;O)

Liebe Grüße / Hugs
Flutterby
