Osterkaffeeklatsch

Hallo,

 

ich vermute mal, Ihr seid nicht allzu überrascht, dass wir uns heute mit einem Osterkaffeeklatschpost melden. Aber wenn Ihr mal genauer schaut, wer hier alles aus dem Ei grüßt, dann kommt sie vielleicht doch noch, die Überraschung...
… I suppose you're not very surprised to find an Easter "Kaffeeklatsch" post from us today. But if you'd have a closer look to all of those greeting out of the egg it might happen that there will show up some surprise still...

        

Ja, "BiWuBären on the Blog" macht's möglich... bei uns kommt sogar der Osterhase persönlich zum Osterkaffeeklatsch vorbei. *schmunzel* Wie es dazu gekommen ist, erzählen wir am Ende dieses Posts... vorher wollen wir Euch aber erst mal zeigen, was Birgit in der letzten Zeit so gewerkelt hat. Erinnert Ihr Euch noch... an ihren guten Vorsatz für die Renovierung vom Bärchenhaus?! Ich zitiere aus unserem Post vom 16. März: "Und noch eine Vorgabe hat Birgit sich gesetzt... nämlich die Überarbeitung möglichst mit vorhandenem Material vorzunehmen und möglichst wenig neu zu kaufen." Tja, das hatte ja bei den Stühlen schon richtig gut geklappt... *grins* Und die Stühle sind auch irgendwie schuld daran, dass Birgit schon wieder von ihrem Vorsatz abgewichen und einen ganz besonderen Bausatz gekauft hat.
Yes, "BiWuBären on the Blog" makes it happen... here at our place the Easter Bunny is dropping by in person for an Easter "Kaffeeklatsch". *smile* But we're going to tell the story how this was made possible at the end of this post… Before this we would like to show what Birgit had crafted during the last days. Do you still remember... her good resolution for the makeover of the Beary House?! I may quote from our post of March 16th: "And Birgit made another decision - her intention is to do the makeover with material that is already at hand and hopefully not to buy new stuff". Well, this already worked really well with the new chairs... *grin* But somehow those chairs are responsible that Birgit threw her good resolution once more overboard and bought a very special kit.

 

Meine Birgit hat nämlich beschlossen, den Essbereich im Wohnzimmer unter zu bringen - dadurch wird dann der große Raum besser genutzt und der kleine Raum neben der Küche frei. Und was macht man mit einem freien Raum, wenn man Birgit ist und sich überhaupt nicht schert um realistische, sinnvolle Raumnutzungen in einem Hausprojekt in dem es z. B. weder ein Badezimmer noch ein Schlafzimmer gibt? Genau - man richtet ein Bastelzimmer ein. Was sonst? *breitgrins* Diese Idee hatte Birgit schon länger... denn sie meint, es wäre sicher lustig, dort ein paar Miniaturhäuser aufzubauen. Richtig konkret wurde die Idee aber, als Birgit rein zufällig auf einen Bausatz von Ketty Pierro für einen Arbeitstisch gestoßen ist. Und was soll ich Euch sagen - es war Liebe auf den Blick. Diesen Schreibtisch und keinen anderen wollte Birgit für das Bastelzimmer im Bärchenhaus! Und sie hat sich auch nicht von der Menge der Teile abschrecken lassen... Rosey und ich haben aber schon gestaunt, aus wie vielen Teilen alleine ein Schubladencontainer besteht.
See, my Birgit decided to put the dining table into the living room - with this the space of this big room will be used better and the small room next to the kitchen will be free. And what should one do with a free room if this someone is Birgit who doesn't care at all about realistic, reasonable room use in a house project with for example no bathroom nor a bedroom? Sure - installing a craft room. What else? *broadgrin* Birgit had this idea for some time... she said it might be fun to arrange some miniature houses in there. But this vague idea did not become concrete until Birgit happened to find a kit for a working desk made by Ketty Pierro. And what am I supposed to tell you - it was love at first sight. Birgit wanted this desk and no other for the craft room of the Beary House! And she wasn't afraid of all the parts that were waiting to be assembled... but Rosey and I were in fact amazed how much parts were already needed just to assemble one of the containers with drawers.

Und das sind noch längst nicht alle Teile... aber die Anleitung war gut gemacht und die Teile gut gearbeitet und so war der Anfang vom ersten Container schnell gemacht...
And these are not all the needed parts yet... but the instruction was well explained and the parts well made so the start with the first container was speedily made...

Auf der linken Seite beinhaltet der Bausatz einen Tafelrahmen. Birgit hat das ein bisschen variiert und sich ein schönes Chalkboard-Motiv im Internet gesucht.
For the left side of the kit a chalkboard is included. Birgit made a small variation for this and searched for a nice chalkboard motif in the internet.

"Coffee is always a good idea"... stimmt... obwohl wir hier bis heute nicht verstehen, warum es uns nicht möglich war, den Spruch in einer richtigen Version zu finden. Ich meine, es muss ja eigentlich "Kaffeeklatsch" is always a good idea" heißen, oder??? *lach* Naja, das hier ist ja auch ganz nett. Auf die andere Seite hätte eigentlich noch ein kleines Regal hingehört, aber darauf hat Birgit ganz bewusst verzichtet. Sie möchte, dass man richtig gut auf die Rückwand schauen kann und findet, dass das kleine Regal genau so gut z. B. als Gewürzregal zum Einsatz kommen kann. Folgerichtig kam an die andere Seitenwand also nur ein schönes Bild passend zum maritimen Thema des Hauses.
"Coffee is always a good idea"... so true... nevertheless around here we still can't understand why we did not manage to find the saying in the correct version. See, it is in fact meant to be "A Kaffeeklatsch is always a good idea", isn't it??? *LOL* Well, but this one is also quite nice. At the other side a small shelf was planned but Birgit decided not to use it. Her intention is to have a full view to the back wall and according to her that small shelf would also be good as for example a spice rack some day. So Birgit covered the other side wall with just a nice picture matching the maritime theme of the house.

… aber vorher wurde noch eine kleine Finesse elektrischer Art eingebaut.

Bastler brauchen immer eine gute Beleuchtung! *schmunzel* Und die erste Deko in Form eines fliegenden Fisches ist auch schon da... aber das reichte natürlich nicht... also fing Birgit an, ihre Irgendwann-für-Irgendwas-Kisten zu durchsuchen und ein bisschen hier und ein bisschen dort zu werkeln:
Crafters always need good lighting! *smile*And the first decoration appearing as a flying fish is also already in place... but of course this wasn't enough... so Birgit started to rifle her Someday-for-Something-Boxes and began to work a bit on this and a bit on that:

Das ist wirklich die originale Untertasse, auf der Birgit seit vielen Jahren ihre Farben drauf kleckert... jetzt auch endlich in der Mini-Version erhältlich... *grins* Und selbst die A-sager alias Bastelhölzer, die Birgit oft benutzt, um z. B. Farben umzurühren oder Strukturpaste aufzutragen, wurden inzwischen en miniature ergänzt... und noch ein paar andere Dinge wie Scheren und - wie sollte es anders sein - ein aktuelles Bastelprojekt. Wenn man dann noch den silbernen Kaffeebecher gegen einen etwas kleineren in weiß austauscht und all das auf dem Arbeitstisch verteilt, dann sieht der am Ende so aus:´
This is really the original saucer Birgit uses since many years to spread her paint on... now finally available in a miniature version… *grin* And even the wood stirrers or wooden sticks Birgit often uses to stir her paint or to attach structure paint were added as miniature versions… next to some other things like scissors and - what else to expect - a current craft project. And after exchanging the silver coffee mug with a smaller one in white and spreading all of this at the work desk it is looking like this:

Irgendwann will Birgit noch mal einen Becher voll mit Stiften und Pinseln ergänzen aber für den Moment hat sie das Schreibtischprojekt für beendet erklärt. Und was macht man, wenn man ein Projekt beendet hat? Klar, man fängt ein neues an... aber vorher guckt man im Garten nach dem Rechten. Mit anderen Worten: Herzlich willkommen zu Folge 93906 von "Und schon wieder jede Menge Fotos von BiWuBärchen im Garten"! *breitgrins*
Someday Birgit plans to add a jar filled with pens and brushes but for the moment she declared the work desk project to be finished. And what is one supposed to do after finishing a project? Sure, starting a new one… but only after having a look into the garden first. In other words: A heartfelt welcome to volume 93906 of our series "And once more many pictures of BiWuBearies in the garden!" *broadgrin*

Nachdem Rosey und ich uns bärsönlich davon überzeugt haben, dass der Frühling endlich richtig in unserem Garten angekommen ist, haben wir uns anschließend in unsere eigenen Gärten begeben. Und was soll ich Euch sagen... wir haben da einen heimlichen Besucher auf frischer Tat ertappt! Erst war er bei Rosey in Flower Cottage...
After Rosey and I checked bearsonally that spring has finally arrived at our garden we went into our own gardens afterwards. And what am I supposed to tell you… we happened to catch a secret visitor in the act! First he was at Rosey's in Flower Cottage...

Und nun wisst Ihr auch wie es dazu gekommen ist, dass der Osterhase persönlich an einem Fotoshooting für unseren Osterpost teil genommen hat. Zum Dank dafür haben wir ihn auf eine kleine Stärkung eingeladen, ein spontaner Osterkaffeeklatsch ist schließlich nie verkehrt.
And now you know how it could happen that the Easter Bunny took part in our photo shooting for our Easter post in person. As a "thank you" we have invited him to a little snack because a spontaneous Easter "Kaffeeklatsch" can never be wrong.

Und mal ganz unter uns - ich mag den Osterhasen total! Er droht nicht mit Einträgen ins Goldene Buch, bringt leckere Schokolade und am Allerbesten - er mag lieber Karotten als Erdbeertorte!!! Kann ich zwar gar nicht verstehen, dass jemand lieber Karotten als süße, rote, saftige, aromatische Erdbeeren mag, aber hey... so bleibt mehr für mich! *freu* Schade war nur, dass ich meinen treuen Hund Wuff leider im Haus lassen musste - er wollte einfach nicht verstehen, dass man Osterhasen noch weniger jagen darf als normale Hasen. *seufz* Wir jedenfalls wünschen Euch schöne Ostertage und nachher ganz viel Spaß bei einem schönen gemütlichen Osternachmittagskaffeeklatsch mit ein, zwei Tässchen leckerem Osternachmittagskaffee und ein, zwei, drei, vier Stückchen oberleckerem Osternachmittagskuchen.
And just among us - I truly like the Easter Bunny! He doesn't threat anyone with reports in the Golden Book, brings tasty chocolate and best of all - he prefers carrots more than strawberry cake!!! I really can't understand how anyone could ever choose carrots instead of sweet, red, juicy, aromatic strawberries but hey... this way there's more left for me! *beams-with-joy* But sad somehow that I had to keep my loyal dog Wuff in the house - he resisted to understand that hunting the Easter Bunny is even more forbidden than hunting common bunnies. *sigh* Anyhow, we're wishing to you lovely days of Easter and later on much fun while enjoying a nice and cozy Easterafternoon-"Kaffeeklatsch" with one, two cups of tasty Easterafternooncoffee and one, two, three, four pieces of yummy Easterafternooncake.

Frische Brise

Hallo,

 

so, nun haben wir also schon das erste Quartal von 2019 hinter uns und finden uns im April wieder... kann es eigentlich sein, dass in diesem Jahr die Zeit NOCH schneller läuft? *lach* Mittlerweile hat der Frühling bei uns Einzug gehalten. Den Pflanzen kann man im Moment regelrecht beim Wachsen zuschauen... was Rosey und ich natürlich auch ab und zu mal machen. Und damit herzlich Willkommen zu einer neuen Ausgabe (genauer gesagt zu Folge 93905) von "Und schon wieder jede Menge Fotos von BiWuBärchen im Garten"! Obwohl... so viele Fotos sind es diesmal gar nicht... *grins*
my, now we're already done with the first quarter of 2019 and do find ourselves in April... could it be that time is running EVEN faster this year? *LOL* In the meantime spring has arrived at our place. At the moment it's possible to watch the plants while growing… and of course Rosey and I are doing this quite often. So now a cordially welcome to a new issue (to be exact volume 93905) of "And once more many pictures of BiWuBearies in the garden!" Nevertheless… there's not the usual photo overkill this time... *grin*

Wir waren aber längst nicht die Einzigen, die im Garten unterwegs waren. Diesen Heimkehrer aus Afrika hat Birgit mit ganz viel Zoom erwischen können:
But we weren't the only ones touring our garden. Birgit was able to catch this returnee from Africa using all the zoom she could:

Ein Grünfink - der ganz offensichtlich froh war, dass er sich nach der langen Reise stärken konnte. Lass es Dir schmecken, kleiner Kerl... Aber nicht nur die Natur erwacht, auch der Rasenmäher hat den Winterschlaf beendet und ist wieder mit Birgit im Einsatz. Und am letzten Wochenende hat Birgit zum ersten Mal ihre Wäsche draußen trocknen können... Mögt Ihr das auch so? Den frischen Duft von Wäsche, die draußen an der Luft getrocknet hat... herrlich, so eine frische Brise. Und damit habe ich dermaßen elegant übergeleitet auf das Bärchenhausprojekt, das ich selbst ganz begeistert von mir bin. *kicher* Denn bei der Renovierung vom Bärchenhaus geht es ja letztlich um eine frische Brise für das "alte" Haus. Während langsam aber stetig immer mehr Klinker an der Hauswand hinzukommen, hat Birgit sich auch schon mal Gedanken über die Inneneinrichtung gemacht. Und hat dabei gleich mal ihren guten Vorsatz, möglichst nichts Neues zu kaufen, so richtig strapaziert. *hihi* Allerdings ging es bei dieser Neuanschaffung um die Stühle vom Esszimmer - und die sehen so aus:
A greenfinch - and without any doubt the birdie was glad to find a good meal after the long journey. You're welcome, little chap… But not only nature is awakening, the lawn mower too came out of hibernation and had its first date with Birgit. And last weekend Birgit was able to dry the washing outside on the line for the first time... Do you also like this as much as we do? The fresh scent of clothes which dried outside in the air… such a wonderful fresh breeze. And with this I've built such an elegant bridge to the Beary House project that I'm somehow proud of myself now. *giggle* Because in a way the renovation of the Beary House is supposed to bring a fresh breeze into this "old" house. And while one by one more and more bricks are added to the house's facade Birgit started to think about the interior. And right from the start she stressed her good resolution not to buy any new stuff whenever possible. *teehee* But this new acquisition was about the chairs from the dining room - and this is how the old ones look like:

Birgit hat sich für neue Stühle entschieden, weil sie gerne einen moderneren Look wollte und es viel Aufwand ist, diese gelackten Teile neu anzustreichen. Aber die alten werden natürlich aufbewahrt, denn irgendwann wird es noch einmal einen magischen Neubau geben... und dafür wird Birgit sie dann sicher gut gebrauchen können. Vielleicht erinnert Ihr Euch - Birgit hat aus einem sehr ähnlichen Modell die Stühle für Gertie Gumthrop gemacht.
Birgit decided to use new chairs because she wanted to have a more contemporary look and also because it takes a lot of effort to paint these varnished pieces. But she's going to keep the old ones because in some future time there's a new magical mansion waiting to be built... and Birgit thinks they will be useful then. Maybe you remember - from a very similar chair Birgit has made the chairs for Gertie Gumthrop.

Es ist ja auch wesentlich einfacher, die Teile dunkel anzustreichen als sie weiß zu bekommen... aus diesem Grund hat Birgit auch den Esstisch aus dem Bärchenhaus ausgetauscht durch einen Naturholztisch, den sie bereits in ihren Irgendwann-für-Irgendwas-Boxen hatte.
And of course it's so much easier to paint these pieces in a dark tone than coloring them white... for this reason Birgit has also exchanged the dining table from the Beary House with a barewood table she had already stored in her Sometime-for-somewhat-boxes.

Man kann gut darauf sitzen! Und nachdem Birgit sich die vorgenommen hat...
It's quite comfortable to take a seat on them! And after Birgit was done with them...

... sehen sie auch ohne BiWuBärchen gut aus. *schmunzel* Diese Farbkombi ist wirklich wie eine frische Brise... und so erstrahlt nun auch der neue Esstisch in frischem Weiß.
... they even look good without BiWuBearies on them. *smile* This color combination is for sure like a fresh breeze... that's why the new dining table is now shining in a fresh white too.

Und wo Birgit schon mal das Weiß auf dem Pinsel hatte, hat sie auch gleich noch dem vorhandenen Couchtisch eine frische Brise verpasst. Vorher:

Wie immer - jeder Weg beginnt mit dem ersten Schritt. Und so wie beim Bärchenhaus nun die ersten Schritte erledigt wurden, sind auch für ein Überraschungspäckchen mehrere Schritte erforderlich, bis der amtierendeWeltmeister im Paketeöffnen in der Bärchenklasse bis 10 cm den Inhalt in Rekordzeit ans Tageslicht befördern kann. Ja, uns erreichte kürzlich ein Überraschungspäckchen, das schon von außen verriet, das es mit Liebe gepackt wurde.
It's as always - every journey begins with the first step. It took a few first steps to get started with the Beary House and it also took a few steps for a surprise package until the actual world champion of opening parcels in the beary class up to 10 cm was able to bring the content to daylight in a wink of an eye. Yes, we've received a surprise package lately that was already telling from the outside that it was packed with love.

Kein Wunder, die Absenderin war ja unsere liebe Freundin Ilona! Ja, Ilona war dieses Jahr sehr früh dran mit ihrem Ostergruß, weil sie sicher stellen wollte, dass wir diese beiden Schönheiten rechtzeitig erhalten.
Not very surprising indeed because the sender was our dear friend Ilona! Yes, Ilona was very early this year with her Easter greeting because she wanted to make sure that we'd receive these two beauties in time.

Zwei wunderbare Dahlienknollen - und es lässt sich nicht verheimlichen... Ilona hat gewusst, was sie tut und die Sorten mit gaaaaaanz viel Bedacht ausgesucht! *schmunzel*  Eine Rosey-Dahlie und eine für Fluby… allerdings habe ich keine Ahnung, warum die "Caribbean Fantasy" heißt. "Strawberry Cream" wäre doch so viel passender!!! Ach ja... Erdbeeren... süße, rote, saftige, aromatische Erdbeeren... *seufz*… äh... wo war ich... ach ja... aber es waren natürlich nicht nur die wunderschönen Dahlien in dem Paket. Ilona hat es auch wieder einmal geschafft, eine Osterkarte mit Motiv von Marjolein Bastin für Birgit zu finden.
Two fantastic dahlia "bulbs" (or whatever the English expression for this part of plants is, I suppose you know what we mean) - and there's no way to deny it... Ilona knew exactly what she did and has chosen the varieties with loads of care! *smile* One Rosey dahlia and one for Fluby… although I have no idea at all why this one is called "Caribbean Fantasy". "Strawberry Cream" would have been so much better!!! Oh my… strawberries… sweet, red, juicy, aromatic strawberries… *sigh*… eh... where was I.... oh yes… but of course there was even more in that package than the beautiful dahlias. Ilona managed once more to find an Easter card with a motif by Marjolein Bastin for Birgit.

Außerdem haben wir wunderschöne Dekosachen bekommen. Die Ostereier hat die stille Blogleserin alias Birgits Mama alias unsere Oma gleich in den Osterstrauß gehängt.
And we've also received gorgeous items for decorating. The silent blog reader aka Birgit's Mom aka our Granny hung the Easter eggs right away into her Easter bouquet. (I don't know about other countries but in Germany we have the custom to put some twigs in a vase and decorate them with eggs and other stuff for Easter)

Und weil Birgit ja bekanntermaßen ein großer Disney-Fan ist, hat Ilona statt Osterhasen auch noch diese prominenten Mäuse mitgeschickt.
And because Birgit is well known to be a huge fan of Disney Ilona sent these very famous mice instead of Easter bunnies.

Und damit nicht genug - schaut Euch mal diese fantastische Schale an!
And there was still more in the package - just look at this stunning bowl!

Fast zu schade, um sie zu füllen und das Motiv zu verdecken. Aber ich sagte "fast"... denn Ilona hat noch jede Menge Füllstoff dafür mitgeschickt.
Almost a pity to fill it and thereby cover the motif. But I was saying "almost"... because Ilona did not forget to send plenty of stuff to fill it.

Dearest Ilona, thank you so much for spoiling us with this wonderful Easter surprise package - but even more for the biggest gift of all: Your friendship!

Doch... ja... sieht auch gefüllt hammermäßig aus. Und ich finde das echt praktisch... man hat eine echt tolle Begründung, wenn man mit der Pfote an den Schokoeiern erwischt wird: "Ich wollte doch nur, dass man das tolle Frühlingsmotiv auf der Schale wieder sehen kann!" *grins* In dem Zusammenhang... da ich wie immer jeden Pluspunkt im Goldenen Buch des Weihnachtsmannes gebrauchen kann und weil ich außerdem nun mal ein Gentlebär von Kopf bis Fuß bin, habe ich natürlich auch am 1. April meiner Birgit beim Umstellen ihrer zahlreichen Kalender geholfen. Unser Sprüchekalender zeigt wie immer ein schönes Bild und dieses Mal ein Zitat von Christoph Wilhelm Hufeland: "Seelenruhe, Heiterkeit und Zufriedenheit sind die Grundlage allen Glücks, aller Gesundheit und des langen Lebens."
Well... yes… this also looks great when being filled. And according to me this is quite handy… it offers a fantastic explanation to anybody being caught in the act while having a paw at the chocolate eggs: "But I only wanted to make sure that the beautiful spring motif is visible again in that bowl!" *grin* Speaking of this… as usual I am in need of every single good point in Santa's Golden Book and let's not forget that I am well known to be a gentlebeary from top to toe so of course I've helped my Birgit once more at April 1st with the update of her several calendars. Our wisdom calendar is once more showing a lovely picture and the saying by Christoph Wilhelm Hufeland is about peace of the soul, cheerfulness and contentedness being the base of all happiness, all health and of a long life.

Der gute Mann war ja ein sehr bedeutender deutscher Arzt, sehr engagiert für arme Menschen aber auch mit etlichen Promi-Patienten wie Goethe, Schiller oder Königin Luise von Preußen... der hat bestimmt gewusst, wovon er spricht. *schmunzel* In diesem Sinne wünschen wir Euch einen tollen April mit ganz viel Seelenruhe, Heiterkeit und Zufriedenheit... das Schöne ist ja, das Ihr das ganz einfach in Eurem Hobby finden könnt! ;O)
Well, this guy was indeed a famous German doctor, devoted to the poor but also having several prominent patients like Goethe, Schiller or Queen Luise of Prussia… I suppose he knew well what he was talking about. *smile* So having this in mind we're wishing to you a great April with plenty of soul peace, cheerfulness and contentedness… and the best is that you're able to find all of this in your hobby! ;O)

Noch eine Baustelle

wir haben hier derzeit eine grausame Wetterphase zu fassen - ein Sturmtief folgt auf das Nächste... brrrrrrr. Normalerweise ist Strawberry Cottage in Birgits Wohnzimmer ja wetterunabhängig, aber im Moment... wann immer Birgit die Fenster aufmacht, pustet das heftig rein. Da haben Rosey und ich uns heute lieber für einen Kaffeeklatsch drinnen entschieden. Auch mal ganz schön... *schmunzel*
… at the moment the weather around here is horrible - one heavy storm is followed by the next one… brrrrrr. Usually Strawberry Cottage being situated in Birgit's living room is not depending on the weather but nowadays… whenever Birgit is opening the windows the wind is blowing inside with might. That's why Rosey and I decided to enjoy an indoor "Kaffeeklatsch" today. Also nice every now and then… *smile*

 

Und bei einer Tasse Kaffee und köstlichen Erdbeerleckereien können wir wunderbar darüber erzählen, was Birgit derzeit  noch so alles vor hat. Das Weihnachtshaus ist nämlich nicht das einzige Projekt, das Birgit dieses Jahr beschäftigen wird - parallel dazu wird es auch noch eine Art Renovierung vom Bärchenhaus geben. Irgendwie schaut Birgit im Moment mit einer Mischung aus Melancholie und Verzweiflung auf ihrer frühen Projekte - und selbst wenn sie mein Häuschen anschaut, stöhnt sie, weil ihr vieles auffällt, was sie heute anders und auch besser machen würde. So viel steht fest - irgendwann bekommt mein Haus noch mal einen neuen Fußboden. *lach* Und wer aufmerksam geschaut hat, dem ist vielleicht aufgefallen, dass ich vor einiger Zeit einen neuen Sessel bekommen habe in der schönsten Farbe, die man sich vorstellen kann: Erdbeerrot! *freu*
And while enjoying a cup of coffee and yummy strawberry treats we can also tell you about Birgit's plans. The Christmas House won't be the only project that'll keep Birgit busy this year - next to this there will also happen some kind of renovation of the Beary House. Somehow Birgit is looking at her early projects with a mixture of melancholy and despair these days - even when looking at my cottage she's moaning because she's noticing many things she would do in a different or even better way today. There can't be any doubt - some time my house will get a new floor. *LOL* And those of you who have been looking attentively might have noticed that some time ago I've received a new armchair in the most beautiful color one could ever imagine: Strawberry red! *beams-with-joy*

Aber zurück zum Bärchenhaus… Die meisten von Euch werden dieses Haus gar nicht kennen, das war bereits fertig, bevor wir unseren Blog gestartet haben. Es war dann eines der ersten Projekte, das wir auf unserem Blog vorgestellt haben - und auch eines der ersten Miniaturenprojekte, die Birgit je gemacht hat. Übrigens ist es auch kein BiWuBärchen-Haus, es haben immer einige von den Miniatur-Bärchen darin gelebt, die Birgit gesammelt hat, bevor sie selbst angefangen hat, BiWuBärchen auf die Welt zu bringen. Das Bärchenhaus entstand aus einem Bausatz, bei dem vieles bereits vorgefertigt und die Außenseiten bereits farbig waren. Damals hat Birgit sich noch nicht vorstellen können, dass man so einen Bausatz auch individualisieren könnte... oder Möbel anstreichen... oder Dekogegenstände selbst machen. Und damals war es auch noch nicht so einfach wie heute, an tolle Miniaturen zu kommen und die Auswahl war viel kleiner... Langer Rede, kurzer Sinn: Birgit hat sich seitdem ein wenig weiter entwickelt - und um so mehr ärgert sie sich über ihre limitierten Möglichkeiten von damals. Ganz unter uns - erschwerend kommt noch hinzu, dass das Bärchenhaus genau das Minaturen-Projekt ist, das Birgit als Erstes sieht, wenn sie aufwacht, und das Letzte, wenn sie schlafen geht. *grins* Also hat Birgit irgendwann beschlossen, dass es so nicht weiter gehen kann. Ich dagegen habe gerade beschlossen, dass ich Euch nun erst einmal zeigen muss, wovon wir hier die ganze Zeit sprechen. *lach*
But back to the Beary House... Hardly anybody will know this house, it was already finished before we've started our blog. It was one of the first projects we've shown on our blog - and one of the first miniature projects Birgit has ever made. Btw this is not  BiWuBeary House, the inhabitants have always been some of the miniature bearies Birgit used to collect before she started to bring BiWuBearies to life. The Beary House was made from a pre-colored kit. Back then Birgit could not imagine that it was possible to build such a kit in an individual way… or to paint the furniture… or to make decoration on her own. And back then it wasn't as easy as today to purchase fantastic miniatures and the offer was smaller… To make a long story short: Since then Birgit has developed a bit - which adds to her regrets about her limited possibilities back then. And just among us - it adds to her pain that the Beary House is exactly the miniature project she's seeing first when waking up and the last when going to bed. *grin* That's why Birgit decided that things had to change. I however have just decided that it's now really time to show to you what we're talking about the whole time. *LOL*

Ich vermute, jetzt versteht Ihr, warum sich Birgit so sehr daran stört. Seht Euch nur den Boden von der Veranda an... und dazu die Pfosten und Fensterläden. Und diese Zuckergußverzierung an der Gaube mit diesem merkwürdigen Blau (die sich übrigens auch an den Seiten des Daches befindet)… alles nicht Birgits Fall. Und auch drinnen gibt es Vieles, von dem Birgit heute nicht mehr nachvollziehen kann, warum sie das damals so gemacht hat.
I suppose you'll understand right away what's annoying Birgit so much about it. Just look at the porch's floor… in combination with the posts and the shutters. And this gingerbread trim at the dormer in this strange blue (which btw is also at the sides of the roof)… all of this is for sure not Birgit's cup of coffee. And also inside there's so much where Birgit can't understand anymore today why she made it this way back then.

Eines würde Birgit aber auch heute nicht anders machen - nämlich das Weglassen der Treppen. So sehr wir bei vielen Projekten von Blogfreunden die tollen und durchdachten Treppen bewundern... Birgit meint, dass sei für "Puppen"häuser wichtig, aber in "Bärchen"häusern könne man den Realismus gerne mal durch einen Schuss Fantasie ersetzen und sich am gewonnenen Platz erfreuen. *grins* Und demzufolge die Treppen ruhig weglassen und die Badezimmer auch... tsssss… es ist auch nicht immer einfach mit Birgit... *breitgrins* Keine Erklärung hat sie allerdings dafür, warum sie die Treppenlöcher damals nicht dicht gemacht hat... aber gut... der Bau war vor dem Blog... damals hat Birgit ihre Werkeleien noch nicht fotografiert. Fotos können ja doch manchmal recht unbarmherzig sein. *kicher*
But there's one thing that Birgit would do again - skipping the stairways. Although we're admiring the stunning and well made stairways in many projects of blogfriends… Birgit says this would be important for "doll" houses, but when it comes to "beary" houses realism could always be replaced by a touch of fantasy while enjoying the plus of space. *grin* That's why stairways can be left out as well as bathrooms… tssssss… it's not always that easy dealing with Birgit... *broad-grin* But she's not able to explain why she did not cover the holes of the stairs back then… well… the building process was before blogging… back then Birgit did not take any pictures of her crafting results. And photos can be quite merciless sometimes. *giggle*

Und unabhängig von dem Loch in der Decke sind die Wand- und Bodenfarben in der Küche nicht nur fade und langweilig sondern auch nicht wirklich harmonisch. Besonders schlimm fand Birgit allerdings immer das Esszimmer...
And despite of the hole in the ceiling the colors of the kitchen's walls and floor are dull and boring and not very harmonic. But Birgit always thought the dining room was even worse...

Das strahlt regelrecht Dunkelheit aus... *schudder*  Auch das Wohnzimmer ist nicht wirklich gemütlich und über die Tapete wollte Birgit sich merkwürdigerweise nicht äußern... *grins*
It really does spread darkness… *shudder* And the living room too is in fact not very cozy and inviting and strange but true but Birgit refused any comment about the wallpaper… *grin*

Das Gleiche gilt auch für die Tapete im Spielzimmer, die Birgit heute nur noch scheußlich findet im Zusammenspiel mit der Einrichtung... nun ja... Geschmäcker ändern sich halt auch mit der Zeit.
It's the same with the wallpaper in the playroom, today Birgit thinks this really does not match with the furnishing… well… personal taste does change when time goes by.

Wie ist das bei Euch... seid Ihr mit Euren Erstlingswerken rundum zufrieden oder denkt Ihr auch, Ihr würdet heute anders heran gehen... einfach, weil Ihr inzwischen dazu gelernt habt? Birgit jedenfalls hatte wie gesagt schon lange vor, einiges im Bärchenhaus zu ändern - aber ihr fehlte noch eine zündende Idee, irgendein Thema oder eine Geschichte für dieses Haus. Aber irgendwann... *zack*… schaute die Idee dann doch vorbei. Bekanntermaßen leben wir im meerumschlungenen Schleswig-Holstein - da war es naheliegend, einmal ein maritimes Thema zu wählen und sich an den Schleswig-Holstein-Farben zu orientieren: Blau, Weiß und Rot. Und noch eine Vorgabe hat Birgit sich gesetzt... nämlich die Überarbeitung möglichst mit vorhandenem Material vorzunehmen und möglichst wenig neu zu kaufen. Und ich sollte vielleicht noch erwähnen, dass das Haus kein reales Vorbild hat... ehrlich gesagt sehen die Häuser bei uns völlig anders aus (bei uns sind rote Klinker üblich) - aber die Farben passen halt gut in Birgits Schlafzimmer... *grins*
What about you… are you still totally satisfied with your firsties or are you too thinking you would do it in a totally different way now… just because you've learned a lot since then? Well, as I've already told you Birgit had planned since long to make a few changes in the Beary House - but there was still a good idea missing, some kind of a theme or a tale for this house. But all of a sudden the needed idea showed up. Living in Schleswig-Holstein being embraced by two seas it was in a way natural to choose a maritime theme for a change and to stick to a color scheme inspired by our flag with blue, white and red.  And Birgit made another decision - her intention is to do the makeover with material that is already at hand and hopefully not to buy new stuff. And maybe I should mention still that this house has no real model… in fact the houses in our area look totally different (and red bricks are common) - but these colors fit so well in Birgit's bedroom… *grin*

(For those of you who are not so familiar with the Federal Republic of Germany in general and our location in detail here's a bit of flutterybeary service - we're living in the most northern state of Germany which is called Schleswig-Holstein. We have Denmark above us and a sea at each side - the Baltic Sea to our right and the North Sea to our left. Our state's hymn starts with "Schleswig-Holstein - meerumschlungen..." = Schleswig-Holstein, embraced by the seas. And it's possible to drive from one shore to the other in about two hours… But we're not living too close to a beach, we live in a region called the Switzerland of Holstein... our beaches are the shores of our lakes, almost every village has its own lake *grin*)

Leider gab es aber auch von Anfang an einige Einschränkungen, mit denen Birgit sich abfinden musste. Die Elektrik funktionierte nicht mehr und so schön es auch wäre, zusätzliche Fenster für mehr Licht einzusetzen... aber dazu ist Birgit wegen ihrer Armprobleme immer noch nicht in der Lage. Und leider zeigte sich auch schnell, dass etliche Teile absolut nicht zu entfernen waren - was insbesondere die Bemalung schwierig macht. Das gilt zum Beispiel für die Fensterläden, die Türen und die beiden Pflanztöpfe neben der Haustür - die sitzen leider bombenfest. Immerhin ließen sich wenigstens das Verandageländer, die Zierleisten, der Briefkasten sowie die Blumentöpfe gut entfernen.
Sadly Birgit had to accept a few restrictions right from the beginning. The electrical light didn't work anymore and although it would be great to have additional windows for more light... but due to her arm problems Birgit isn't able to do something like this. And sadly she had also to find out very fast that some pieces could not be removed - meaning big problems while painting. This includes for example the shutters, the doors and the two plant pots next to the entrance door. But to Birgit's relief the porch railing, the gingerbread trim, the mailbox and the flower pots could easily be removed.

Angesichts der nicht zu entfernenden Fensterläden und dem nicht gerade saugfähigen Untergrund der Fassade befürchtete Birgit, dass ein neuer Anstrich schwierig werden würde.
Regarding the shutters that could not be removed and the non-absorbent ground of the facade Birgit was worrying that painting the exterior could become difficult.

Was also dann... Steine aus Eierkarton? Auch die müssten bemalt und verfugt werden... wobei die blöden Fensterläden ewig im Weg wären und das Risiko groß, festsitzende Teile einzusauen. Irgendwann kam Birgit dann auf die Idee, die Fassade auf eine ganz besondere Art und Weise zu verklinkern - nämlich anders herum. Dazu wurde erst einmal die Fassade in Grau grundiert, dann die Fensterläden in einem schönen Blauton gestrichen und danach jede Menge "Ziegel" aus weiß gestrichenen Holzrührstäbchen gemacht. Begonnen hat Birgit damit schon im letzten Sommer auf der Terrasse... aber ich glaube, es liegt nicht nur am Sonnenschein, dass die Hausfront gleich ganz anders wirkt. *schmunzel*
So what else could she do... stones from egg carton? But those would also need to be painted and to get grout… while those damn shutters would always be in the way with the risk of ruining non-removable parts with paint. In the end Birgit came up with the idea to use bricks for the facade in a very special way - somehow vice versa. For this she gave the facade a grey coat , painted the shutters afterwards in a nice blue and started to make many "bricks" from wooden coffee stirrers being painted white. Birgit started with all of this already during last summer at the terrace… but I suppose it's not only because of the sunshine that the facade looks quite different at once. *smile*

Gleichzeitig wurde der Verandaboden mit Holz verkleidet.
At the same time the porch's floor was covered with wood.

Und hier noch mal die "Ziegelwand". Klar, das ist absolut nicht der klassische Weg... und das Ergebnis ist auch immer noch nicht perfekt. Aber das ist Birgit egal - sie musste halt Kompromisse eingehen und solange es besser aussieht als vorher reicht ihr das vollkommen.
And here once more the "brick" wall. Okay, this is not the classical way… and the result still far from being perfect. But Birgit doesn't care - she had to make compromises and as long as it's looking better than before she's fine with that.

Inzwischen ist Birgit mit der Fassade noch ein bisschen weiter gekommen. Auf diesem aktuellen Foto kann man anhand der noch nicht bearbeiteten Dachgaube recht gut erkennen, welchen Unterschied die "Klinker" und die neue Farbe an den Fensterläden machen.
In the meantime Birgit has made some more progress with the facade. This current photo shows well the difference the "bricks" and the new color of the shutters make compared to the dormer which wasn't changed yet.

Ihr seht, Birgit hat sich viel vorgenommen - gleich zwei Großprojekte auf einmal. Aber für einige von Euch ist das ja vielleicht erleichternd, wenn wir hier nicht ausschließlich weihnachtliche Werkeleien zeigen werden. *lach* A propos Weihnachten... das kommt ja eh immer schneller als man denkt, deshalb kann so ein Flatterbärchen wie ich nicht früh genug anfangen, sich Pluspunkte im Goldenen Buch des Weihnachtsmannes zu verdienen. Ein sicherer Weg für mich, Pluspunkte zu bekommen, ist natürlich meine Hilfeleistung am Monatsanfang beim Kalenderumstellen. Diesen Monat zeigt unser Sprüchekalender ein sehr schönes Bild (Das wird Euch überraschen - aber ich finde Schmetterlingsflügel klasse! *hihi*) und einen Spruch von Shakespeare: "Ein fröhlich Herz lebt am längsten."
You see, Birgit has big plans - even two big projects at a time. But maybe some of you feel a bit of relief  because now we're not going to show just Christmas related stuff over the year. *LOL* Speaking about Christmas... we all know this always comes faster than expected that's why a flutterybeary like me can't start too early to gain himself some good points in the Golden Book of Santa. For me a very good way to earn good points is of course helping with the calendar update at the month's beginning. This month our wisdom calendar is showing a beautiful picture (You might be surprised - but I really like butterflies' wings! *teehee*) and a saying by Shakespeare who said a happy heart would live the longest.

Super, dann habe ich ja noch ganz viel vor mir! *strahl* Euch allen wünschen wir einen schönen Restmonat und ganz besonders ein fröhliches Herz - und natürlich viel Spaß bei allem, woran ihr gerade werkelt.
