Hallo,
hört sich fast an wie beim Arzt... *lach* Nein, wir meinen natürlich den nächsten renovierten Raum vom Bärchenhaus, den wir Euch heute vorstellen wollen. Bevor wir Euch aber zeigen, wie das Wohnzimmer nach der Renovierung aussieht, wollen wir noch ein paar Dinge zeigen, die Ihr noch nicht kennt oder aber die wir vor langer Zeit gezeigt haben. Dazu gehört der Fotodruck einer Glückwunschkarte, die Birgit einmal von Ilona zum Geburtstag bekommen hat.
... sounds as if we were at the doctor's somehow... *LOL* No, of course we're talking about the next renovated room of the Beary House which we would like to present today. But before we're going to show how the living room looks after its makeover we would like to show a few things first which you don't know so far or which we have shown a long time ago. To this category belongs a photo print of a greeting card Birgit once received for her birthday from Ilona.

Die war doppelt perfekt - die Fische passen zum maritimen Thema des Bärchenhauses und die Zeichnung stammt von Marjolein Bastin. *schmunzel* Verstärkt mit Karton kommt das Bild nun endlich an die Wand des Wohnzimmers. An der anderen Wand wollte Birgit eine Collage aus mehreren Bildern haben - was leichter beschlossen als gemacht war. Es ist nämlich nicht so einfach, mehrere Bilder in einem bestehenden Raum auszurichten - und das komplette Haus auf die Seite zu kippen, war irgendwie auch keine Option. Birgit hat sich beholfen, indem sie die Bilder auf einen Untergrund geklebt hat, denn ein großes Objekt lässt sich ja einfacher ankleben als mehrere kleine. Und so sieht das aus:
This was perfect in even two ways - the fishies match perfectly with the maritime theme of the Beary House and the drawing is by Marjolein Bastin. *smile* Glued on some cardboard this picture will now finally get a home at one of the living room's walls. For the other wall Birgit wanted to have a collage from several pictures - which was easier decided than done. See, it's not that easy to align several pictures in an already built room - and putting the whole house at its side wasn't an option neither. Birgit helped herself by gluing the pictures on a background because one big object can easier be attached than many small ones. And this is how it looks:

Wir hoffen, Ihr könnt das "gefährlichste Tier auf der ganzen Welt" neben dem Weißen Hai auf dem Foto erkennen... Birgit mag diesen Denkanstoß sehr, genau so wie die beiden Sprüche. Natürlich durfte unsere BiWuBären-Collage nicht fehlen, unsere langjährigen Leser erinnern sich vielleicht, dass sich die irgendwo in jedem Haus findet, das Birgit gebaut hat (bei mir zum Beispiel hängt sie neben meinem Schreibtisch und bei Rosey über dem Bett). "Die große Welle vor Kanagawa" von Hokusai passte einfach wunderbar zum maritimen Thema des Hauses - und aus dem gleichen Grund hat Birgit zwei der Motive unten ausgewählt. Eines davon ist ein Kreuzstichbild unseres Heimatstaates, das andere (von einer Papierserviette) zeigt Leuchttürme und nennt einige der großen Inseln von Nord- und Ostsee, was man auf dem Foto leider kaum erkennen kann. Und die beiden Bilder mit den Ducks durften bei Birgit und ihrer Liebe zu Comics und insbesondere zu Carl Barks natürlich nicht fehlen.
We hope you could detect "the most dangerous animal in the world" next to the white shark at the photo... Birgit likes this food for thought very much as well as the two sayings. And of course our BiWuBear collage could not be missed, our longtime readers may recall that this can be found somewhere in every house Birgit has built (for example in my home it hangs next to my work desk and at Rosey's over her bed). "The Great Wave Off Kanagawa" by Hokusai was a wonderful match with the maritime theme of the house - and for the same reason Birgit chose two of the motifs at the bottom. One of them is a picture in cross stitch of our home state, the other one (in fact a paper napkin) shows lighthouses and names some of the big islands from the North Sea and the Baltic Sea which is sadly hardly visible at the photo. (Question to our foreign readers: Have you ever heard of our beautiful German islands? To give you an impression here are just the islands printed on the napkin: Spiekeroog, Helgoland, Fehmarn, Langeoog, Sylt, Borkum, Rügen, Föhr, Amrum and Norderney. We suppose to some of you they may sound like lands from a fantasy novel *LOL*). And the two pictures featuring the Ducks were also a must have for Birgit with her love for comics and especially the work of Carl Barks.

Aber diese beiden Bilder wurden nicht nur wegen der maritimen Motive ausgewählt, sondern auch, weil Drucke genau dieser Ölgemälde von Carl Barks tatsächlich bei Birgit an der Wand hängen. *schmunzel*

Ohne Zweifel eine ganze Menge Birgit-Touch... *lach* Und das gilt auch für die Miniaturversion von Disneys 7 Zwergen - wir hatten Euch diese besonderen Olszewski-Miniaturen ja schon einmal vorgestellt. Und weil es wichtig ist, dass man besondere Miniaturen auch besonders gut sehen kann, hat Birgit noch eine Art Podest mit Hilfe einer passenden Leiste für die prominenten sieben Herren gemacht.
Undoubtedly a lot of Birgit-touch... *LOL* And that's also true for the miniature versions of Disney's 7 dwarfs - we've already shown these very special Olszewski miniatures to you. And because it's important that very special miniatures can be seen very well Birgit made some kind of a pedestal with the help of a small piece of wood strip for those seven famous gentlemen.

Und damit sind wir auch schon beim Inhalt der Regale angekommen - in denen auch wunderschöne Geschenke von Blogfreunden endlich einen verdienten Ehrenplatz erhalten. Diese hier zum Beispiel - die dekorierten Muscheln und die kleinen Keramikhäuschen waren Geschenke von Drora, den Metallanhänger, der wie ein Tauchhelm aussieht, hat Ilona uns geschenkt. Das Schild hatte Birgit noch in ihren Irgendwann-für-Irgendwas-Kisten und es ist ja immer wieder schön, wenn Irgendwann dann tatsächlich zum Jetzt wird. *grins*
And with these we've arrived right away at the shelves and their content - some beautiful gifts from blogfriends will finally receive their well deserved places of honor there. These for example - the decorated shells and the tiny ceramic houses were gifts from Drora, the metal charm resembling a diving helmet was given to us by Ilona. The sign was waiting in Birgit's Sometime-for-Somewhat-boxes and it's always great whenever sometime is turning into now. *grin*

Auch das tolle Papiertheater, das wir letztes Weihnachten von Pilar bekommen haben, wird in dem Regal einen Ehrenplatz erhalten. Die bepflanzte Muschel und die Beatrix-Potter-Figur (beides Geschenke von Ilona) sowie die Asterix-Miniatur (aus Birgits Irgendwann-für-Irgendwas-Kisten) haben allerdings doch nicht ihren Weg ins Wohnzimmerregal gefunden - denn die hat Birgit sich fürs Bastelzimmer aufgehoben.
And also the stunning paper theater we've received last Christmas from Pilar will get a place of honor in the shelf. The planted shell and the Beatrix-Potter-figurine however (both gifts from Ilona) as well as the Asterix miniature (from Birgit's Sometime-for-Somewhat-boxes) did not find their way into the livingroom shelf after all - because Birgit reserved these for the craftroom.

Das gilt auch für die Metallanhänger, die Ihr auf dem folgenden Bild sehen könnt - auch die sind im Bastelzimmer gelandet. Die sehr einfachen Bücher sind die Reste von denen, die schon im alten Wohnzimmer in den Regalen standen - einige davon hatte Birgit ja bereits für das Spielzimmer genutzt.
And this is also true for the metal charms which you can see at the next picture - those too made it into the craftroom. The very simple books are the leftovers of those which had their place in the old living room shelves - Birgit had already used some of them for the play room.
Da diese vor vielen Jahren gekauften Bücher sehr einfach gemacht sind, mussten unbedingt noch ein paar richtig schöne Bücher her. Wie gut, dass wir inzwischen eine große Anzahl von Büchern besitzen, die Ricardo uns geschenkt hat. *freu*
Because these books being bought many years ago are in fact really simple it was a must to add a few really well made books. So it came in handy that in the meantime we own a big variety of books given to us by Ricardo. *beams-with-joy*

Und damit können wir Euch schon mal zeigen, wie die Regalwand nun mit der neuen Dekoration aussieht - mit und ohne Beleuchtung.

Weiter geht's - Birgit hat auch noch ein paar Bücher selbst gemacht... Die beiden Ozean-Bildbände und der Klassiker "Die Möwe Jonathan" (von Richard Bach) sind für das Wohnzimmer (genauer gesagt für den Wohnzimmertisch) und die Miniaturversion von "Unten am Fluß" (von Richard Adams) geht ins Bastelzimmer. Zugegeben, das ist nun wirklich kein maritimes Buch, auch wenn Wasser im Titel involviert ist. *grins* Aber es ist eines von Birgits Lieblingsbüchern und durfte daher nicht fehlen. Das Buch "The Guardians of Childhood" war schon in unserem letzten Post zu sehen, das befindet sich nämlich im Spielzimmer neben dem Bett.
Let's go on - Birgit also made a few books by herself... The two ocean themed picture books and the classic "Jonathan Livingston Seagull" (by Richard Bach) are meant to go into the living room (to be more exact under the living room table) and the miniature version of "Watership Down" (by Richard Adams) will go into the craftroom. We admit it, that's for sure no book with a maritime theme even though water is involved in the title. *grin* But it is one of Birgit's favourite books so it could not be missed. The book "The Guardians of Childhood" was already shown in our last post as it can be found in the playroom next to the bed.
Als Birgit die Vorlage dafür entdeckt hat, konnte sie nicht widerstehen, denn sie mag den Film (blöder deutscher Titel "Die Hüter des Lichts") sehr und auch die Bücher von William Joyce... wobei die sich (wie so oft) sehr vom Film unterscheiden.
When Birgit discovered the template for this she could not resist it because she really likes the movie and also the books by William Joyce... which are (as so often) very different from the movie.
Weiter geht's mit etwas Deko, die Ihr noch nicht gesehen habt. Der kleine Tisch links im Bild war ein Weihnachtsgeschenk von Alex, die drei Kerzenständer daneben hat Birgit nach einem Tutorial von Jodi gemacht. Die beiden Kerzen rechts sind von Dollhouse Design und die Laterne wurde mit Hilfe eines Bausatzes vom Puppenstübchen Fichtner gemacht.
Let's continue with some decorations you did not see so far. The small table at the picture's left was a Christmas gift from Alex and Birgit made the 3 candle holders next to them following a tutorial from Jodi. The two candles at the left were bought at Dollhouse Design and the lantern was made using a kit by Puppenstübchen Fichtner.

Derartige Glasdome mit maritimer Deko hat Birgit früher viel in ihrem Etsy-Shop verkauft, es lag daher nahe, so einen auch im Bärchenhaus zu haben. Übrigens nutzen einige Miniaturisten für ähnliche Arrangements echte präparierte Seepferdchen - aber so etwas lehnt Birgit ab... ihres kommt von Playmobil und sah früher so aus:
Birgit used to sell quite some of these glass domes with maritime decoration in her former Etsy shop so this was somehow a must-have in the Beary House. Btw some miniaturists are using real preserved seahorses for similar arrangements - but this was never an option for Birgit... hers is from Playmobil and used to look like this:

Was uns angeht, war die Renovierung aber so was von notwendig... *lach* Und unabhängig von der Tapete, bei der sich Birgit nicht mehr erinnern kann, warum sie die je verwendet hat und der Tatsache, dass man sich nun mal mit der Zeit weiter entwickelt - aber wenn wir uns heute diesen Raum anschauen, wie er mal war, erscheint er uns sehr klein und vollgestopft. Und das obwohl er ja eigentlich die ganze Etage einnimmt. Wir sind jedenfalls sehr gespannt, ob Ihr auch findet, dass der Raum jetzt größer wirkt... obwohl sogar noch der Essbereich dort Platz gefunden hat. Aber genug der Vorrede - so sieht das Wohnzimmer jetzt aus:
According to us this makeover was really necessary... *LOL* And despite the wallpapers where Birgit doesn't remember anymore the reason why she ever used them and the fact that everybody develops with time - but looking nowadays at this room and how it was it appears to us being small and stuffed. And this although it is in fact one room over the whole floor. We are somehow curious if you too think that the room appears now to be bigger... although even the dining space got into it. But enough of talking - this is how the living room looks now:
Lustig, wir haben erst auf den Fotos gemerkt, dass die Laterne nicht richtig auf der Basis drauf sitzt. *lach* Aber das stört uns nicht weiter... ganz im Gegensatz zum Blick auf den Kalender. Meine Güte, Juli!!! Die Hälfte vom Jahr ist schon rum... und ein gewisses Fest am Jahresende rückt immer näher. Nur noch so wenig Zeit, um Pluspunkte für das Goldene Buch zu sammeln - um so wichtiger ist es also, die sicheren Punkte einzusammeln. Oder in anderen Worten: Birgit beim Umstellen ihrer Kalender zu helfen. Für den Juli zeigt unser Sprüchekalender ein maritimes Bild, das definitiv nicht an der Ostsee entstanden ist. *grins* Der Spruch stammt von Hans Kruppa: "Wirklich reich ist der, der mehr Träume in seiner Seele hat, als die Wirklichkeit zerstören kann."
Funny, but we didn't notice the lantern wasn't sitting right on its base until we uploaded the photos. *LOL* But we don't bother... but I really do when looking at the calendar. OMG, July!!! Half of the year is over again... and a certain holiday at the end of the year is coming nearer. Only so little time left to gain good points in the Golden Book - the more it is important to make the easy points. Or in other words: To help Birgit with the update of her calendars. For July our wisdom calendar shows a maritime photo which was for sure not taken at the Baltic Sea. *grin* The saying is by Hans Kruppa, he said truly rich is the one who has more dreams in his soul than reality could ever destroy.
Ein sehr schöner Spruch... wobei ich aber ergänzen würde, dass nicht nur viele Träume reich machen, sondern auch schöne Pflanzen.
