Snowy Chic

Hallo,

 

nachdem wir Euch beim letzten Mal Bowlers fertig dekoriertes Regal gezeigt haben, wird es ja nun wirklich Zeit, dass unser  kühler Freund auch noch Möbel bekommt. Obwohl... äh... mal ehrlich... ganz unter uns... Möbel? Wie und worauf sitzt eigentlich ein Schneewesen? Ich hatte wirklich keine Ahnung, aber das muss ich ja auch  nicht, es reicht ja, wenn meine Birgit eine passende Idee zum Problem hat. *grins* Und so sieht Birgits Idee aus:
... after showing Bowler's fully decorated shelf the last time it is now about time for our cool friend to receive some furniture. Though... eh... honestly speaking... just among us... furniture??? How does a snow being manage to sit down? I must admit I didn't have the slightest clue but luckily I don't have to because it's enough when Birgit comes up with an idea matching the problem. *grin* And this is how Birgit's idea looks like:

Zwei Schlitten! Ja, das ist eine wirklich gute Lösung... und passt perfekt zu Bowlers Einrichtungsstil. Snowy Chic eben! *schmunzel* Und sie erfüllen auch wirklich ihren Zweck, sowohl für Schneewesen als auch für Besucher mit Beinen.
Two sleds! Yes, this is for sure a great solution... and matches Bowler's decoration style perfectly. True Snowy Chic! *smile* And they're doing well to serve as seats either for snow beings as well as for visitors on legs.
 

 

Aber natürlich brauchte Bowler auch noch einen Wohnzimmertisch - und da kam ein Tisch von Playmobil zum Einsatz, den Birgit noch in ihren Irgendwann-für-Irgendwas-Kisten hatte. Der hatte nicht nur zufälligerweise eine passende Größe, sondern auch einen transparenten Unterbau, der gut zu Bowlers eisigem Fußboden passt. Die Tischplatte hatte ursprünglich eine scheußliche Farbe in Richtung hell Ocker *schauder*, aber die hat Birgit so schnell passend zur übrigen Einrichtung hellblau gestrichen, dass wir nicht mal mehr ein Vorher-Bild zeigen können. Fertig jedenfalls sieht er so aus:
But of course Bowler also needed a coffee table - which meant show time for a table by Playmobil who was found in Birgit's Sometime-for-somewhat-boxes. It not only had by chance a matching size but also a transparent base which matches well with Bowler's icy floor. The table top used to have a horrible color somehow in light ochre *shudder* but Birgit was so quick at hand with painting it light blue to match with the rest of the interior that we're not able to show a before-picture anymore. Being finished it looks like this:
                

 

Obwohl... sagte ich fertig? Na, ein Tisch kann ja wohl nicht komplett sein ohne das hier, oder? *lach*
But did I say finished? Well, no table can ever be complete without this... *LOL*
              

 

Und es gab noch ein Teil, das fertig gestellt werden musste. Vielleicht erinnert Ihr Euch noch an das kleine Regal, das ich Euch gezeigt habe, als wir angefangen haben, von Bowlers Hausbau zu berichten. Irgendwas musste da ja noch drauf stehen...
And there was still another piece waiting to be finished. Maybe you're remembering the little shelf I've shown you when we startet to post about building Bowler's home. It still needed something to be placed on it...

Birgit hatte die Idee mit diesen Schneemännern, weil sie solche als Christbaumanhänger für ihren Etsy-Shop macht...
The idea to use these snowmen came to Birgit because she offers similar ones as Christmas tree ornaments in her Etsy shop...

              

So hat Bowler nun auch eine typische Birgit-Bastelei bei sich. Und wo wir gerade bei typischen Birgit-Basteleien sind - wie immer Anfang August hatte unsere stille Blogleserin alias Birgits Mama alias meine Oma Geburtstag und in diesem Jahr hat Birgit ihr wieder ein neues Schneewesen für ihre Sammlung gemacht. Für alle, die sie noch nicht auf unserem Nebenblog gesehen haben, möchten wir das neueste Mitglied unserer BiWuBären-Truppe auch hier gerne vorstellen: Lady Marina de Winter!
Now Bowler is owning typical handicraft made by Birgit. And speaking of typical handicraft by Birgit - as usual at the beginning of August our silent blog reader aka Birgit's Mom aka my Granny celebrated her birthday and this year Birgit gave to her a new snow being for her collection. For all of you who haven't already seen her on our side blog we would like to introduce the newest member of our BiWuBeary gang here too: Lady Marina de Winter!

... der Marina hinterher zu sich eingeladen hat, um ihr seine Schneeflockensammlung zu zeigen. Äh... ich bin mir immer noch nicht sicher, was ich davon halten soll... aber ich bin ja zum Glück nicht Marinas Vater... *hihi* Außerdem hatte ich zu tun, es galt nämlich wieder einmal unter Beweis zu stellen, dass ich immer noch der amtierende Champion im Paketeöffnen in der Bärchenklasse bis 10 cm bin, jawohl!
... who invited Marina to visit him suggesting to show to her his collection of snow flakes. Eh... I still haven't decided what to think about this... luckily I'm not Marina's Dad... *teehee* And whatsmore I was busy because it was time again to prove that I am still the actual champion of opening parcels in the beary class up to 10 cm, yessssss!
 

 

Und wieder einmal war ich so schnell, dass Birgit mit der Kamera nicht hinterher kam. Naja, sie ist ja inzwischen auch schon wieder ein Jahr älter geworden... *grins* Unsere liebe Freundin Ilona hat es sich nicht nehmen lassen, Birgit zu diesem Anlass jede Menge Freude, Freundschaft und Glück in einem Paket zu schicken. Und natürlich hat Ilona auch wieder an eine Karte mit Marjolein-Bastin-Motiv gedacht. *strahl*
And once more I've been so fast that Birgit wasn't able to catch up with her camera. Well, let's have in mind she's one year older now... *grin* Our dear friend Ilona thought this would be a good occasion to send joy, friendship and happiness in a parcel. And of course Ilona didn't forget to add a card with a motif by Marjolein Bastin. *beams-with-joy*
 

 

Und es kamen ganz viele wunderschöne Päckchen zum Vorschein - sogar eines nachträglich für Birgits Mama.
Hidden inside were many lovely packages - one even belated for Birgit's Mom.
              

Ich kann Euch jetzt schon verraten... da ist wieder mal ganz schön viel Augenschweiß geflossen... *zwinker* Aber auch kein Wunder bei solchen Schätzen! Schaut mal:

Diese Darstellung der Heiligen Familie war übrigens das Geschenk für unsere Oma. *liebrüberwink* Und nun kommt es zum Äußersten - heute können wir Euch endlich mal ein Gruppenfoto mit Birgit zeigen! Trommelwirbel, bitte!
Btw this nativity scene was the gift for our Granny. *waves-hello* And now let's talk business, we're getting serious - today we can finally show you a group photo together with Birgit! Drumroll, please!
 

 

Buaaaahaaaa... wir konnten nicht widerstehen! *LOL* (Hoffentlich hat mir der kleine Scherz jetzt keinen Minuspunkt im Goldenen Buch des Weihnachtsmannes eingebracht... *schluck* Lieber schnell weitermachen...) Diese Bastelpackung von Nalladris hat uns auch total begeistert...
Buaaaahaaaaaaa... we couldn't resist that one! *LOL* (Hopefully this little joke won't gain me some bad points in Santa's Golden Book... *gulp* I'd better carry on now...) This kit from Nalladris totally fascinated us...

Meine kleine Schwester aus naheliegenden Gründen (Rosa... *augenverdreh*) und mich, weil ich wirklich verblüfft war, dass aus diesen Metallteilen eine so tolle Hochzeitstorte entstehen soll. Man lernt nie aus... Und schaut mal hier - ist das nicht der Oberhammer?
For my little sis' the reason is clear to see (Pink... *rolls-his-eyes*) and as far as I am concerned I was indeed amazed that such a stunning wedding cake can be made out of these metal pieces. You live, you learn... And now have a look - aren't these true burners?

 

Weihnachtsratte / Santa rat: Georgia Marfels

Und dann war da noch eine oberleckere Torte... belegt mit den wunderbarsten Früchten, die man sich vorstellen kann... ach ja... süße, rote, saftige, aromatische Erdbeeren... *seufz*... äh... wo war ich... also, die Torte ist perfekt, damit Bowler gewisse Flatterbärchenbesucher großzügig bewirten kann. *hihi*
And another highlight... a yummy cake covered with the most fantastic fruits one could ever think of... oh my... sweet, red, juicy, aromatic strawberries... *sigh*... eh... where was I... well, the cake is just perfect to help Bowler when generously hosting certain flutterybeary visitors... *teehee*

A propos... wir mussten Bowler rufen, damit er mal die schicke Kappe anprobiert. Meine kleine Schwester und ich, wir haben echt kein Hutgesicht und wenn man schon mal einen Schneemann herbei rufen kann, der normalerweise eine Melone trägt, ist das dann echt praktisch.
And speaking of Bowler... we had to call him to try this nice cap. My little sister and I have no hat faces at all and it comes in quite handy when you're able to call a snowman who usually wears a bowler hat.

Steht ihm richtig gut... und deshalb hat er das Teil auch gleich aufbehalten, denn wir müssen ja noch "Danke!!!" sagen...
He looks very good with it... and that's why he kept this piece while we're doing what we need to do now - say "THANK YOU!!!"...

Dearest Ilona, once more... thank you so much for all of these fantastic, stunning, awesome, well chosen and most generous birthday gifts, but above all for being the special friend you are. Thanks from all of us, including of course the silent blog reader and the voice from the background... ;O)

Und Birgit möchte sich auch noch ausdrücklich bedanken bei allen, die ihr einen lieben Geburtstagsgruß geschickt haben. Und nun wünschen wir Euch eine schöne Woche - genießt die letzten Augusttage!

Willkommen im August

wie konnte das denn passieren? August??? Wo bitte ist der Juli geblieben??? Nun wird's aber wirklich Zeit für einen neuen Post von uns... in den wir folgende Themen reinpacken:

- Ein Gentlebärchen verdient sich Pluspunkte im Goldenen Buch des Weihnachtsmannes

- Jede Menge oberleckere rote, saftige, aromatische Früchte

... how could this ever happen? August??? Can anybody tell me about July??? Now it's really time for a new post from us... and we are going to handle these topics today:

- A gentlebeary earning himself some good points in Santa's Golden Book

- Lots of yummy red, juicy, aromatic fruits

- Volume 93884 of our series "And once more many pictures of BiWuBearies in the garden" (Mercy! *broadgrin*)

- Interior design for snow beings

- A little bit of luck

 

Ihr seht, wir haben viel vor, also starten wir gleich mit dem 1. Programmpunkt, also dem Gentlebärchen, das jeden Pluspunkt im Goldenen Buch gebrauchen kann - oder anders gesagt, es war plötzlich August und ich habe wie an jedem Monatsanfang meiner Birgit beim Aktualisieren ihrer zahlreichen Kalender geholfen. Schauen wir mal... diesen Monat erwartet uns ein sehr schönes Bild mit Sonnenblumen.

You see, there's a lot on our agenda so we're starting right away with topic No. 1 which is the genlebeary in need of every good point in Santa's Golden Book - or in other words suddenly August was here and I've helped my Birgit with the update of her several calendars as I always do at every new month's beginning. Let's see... this month offers a very nice picture of sunflowers.

                   

                

Ich finde ja, dass Sonnenblumen immer richtig freundlich und fröhlich aussehen. Und ein schönes Zitat von Thomas Carlyle ist auch noch dabei: "Aus der Stille werden die wahrhaft großen Dinge geboren." Ja, da ist was dran, in der Ruhe liegt die Kraft... und es gab auch keinen Lärm, als die Protagonisten unseres zweiten Themenpunktes heran gewachsen sind... was ich durchaus für eine Bestätigung der Carlyle-These halte. *kicher* Ja, die oberleckeren roten, saftigen, aromatischen Früchte... und wer von Euch jetzt gedacht haben sollte "Ach, der Fluby schwelgt wieder in seinen Erdbeer-Phantasien..." Nein, meine Lieben... ich habe nichts von süß gesagt, oder? Also können meine süßen, roten, saftigen, aromatischen Lieblingsfrüchte ausnahmsweise nicht gemeint sein. Nein, ich spreche natürlich von unserer diesjährigen Johannisbeerenernte! Wir haben nur einen einzigen Johannisbeerenbusch im Garten, aber der trägt immer reichlich und da machen meine Menschen immer einen oberleckeren Saft draus, der schmeckt prima über Vanilleeis... hmmmm... Schaut mal, so viel hat Birgit geerntet... und das war schon das 2. Mal, das sie gepflückt hat.

According to me sunflowers always look very friendly and cheerful. And now to this month's saying - Thomas Carlyle once said the real important things do come out of tranquility. Yes, there's something about the power of silence... and there was no noise while the protagonists of our second topic were growing... I'm taking this as some evidence of Carlyle's theory. *giggle* Yes, the yummy red, juicy, aromatic fruits... and all of you who were just thinking "My, Fluby, he's once more lost in his strawberry dreams..." No, my dears... I did not say anything about sweet, did I? So for a change my sweet red juicy aromatic favorite fruits don't have the staring role. No, of course I'm talking about this year's red currant crop! We have just one single red currant shrub in our garden but it always carries plenty of fruits and my humans make a very yummy juice out of the currants which is really fantastic in combination with vanilla icecream... hmmm... Have a look, Birgit has picked this much... and it was already the second harvest. 

                                    

                       

Der Topf war wirklich richtig gut gefüllt... zum Beweis gibt es noch mal ein Foto mit Größenreferenz.

Ein BiWuBärchen bringt es immer auf ungefähr 9 stolze Bärchenzentimeter - und da ist meine kleine Schwester Rosey keine Ausnahme. *schmunzel* Und wenn wir uns schon zu Erntezwecken im Garten befinden, dann kommen wir auch schon zu unseren neuesten Gartenbildern. Ja, Folge 93884... *seufz*... das lässt sich nicht ändern, im Moment blühen die Hortensien so schön... und deshalb kommt hier nun wieder die nächste Bilderflut:
A BiWuBeary is always about 9 proud beary centimeters tall - and my little sister Rosey is no exception from the rule. *smile* And while we are already for harvest purposes in the garden we're coming now to our newest pictures from the garden. Yes, volume 93884... *sigh*... we can't help it, at the moment the hydrangeas are in full bloom... and that's why here's the next flood of pictures:

Habt Ihr sie entdeckt? War doch nicht schwer, oder? Oder wollt Ihr doch noch eine nähere Aufnahme?

Und wer nach diesem Ausflug und der Fülle an Farben eine kleine Abkühlung vertragen kann... auch mit Bowlers Heim ist es natürlich in der Zwischenzeit weiter gegangen. Birgit hat sich überlegt, wie sie das neue Regal am Besten füllen kann - und Bowler und mich mit diesem Ergebnis völlig überrascht.
And all of those who would like a little refreshment after this tour with it's many colors... of course there has been some progress with Bowler's home in the meantime. Birgit thought about the best ways to fill the new shelf - and the result was a big surprise for Bowler and me.

                     

            

Das hat wirklich meine Birgit gemacht - die Schnee ja immer nur "ekliges, kaltes, weißes Zeug" nennt. *lach* Aber für uns macht sie sogar so was, wenn es sein muss. Und aus ihren berüchtigten "Irgendwann-für-irgendwas"-Kisten hat sie noch einiges zusammen gesucht, was in Bowlers Heim passen könnte.
This was really made by my Birgit - who always calls snow "that disgusting cold white stuff". *LOL* But for us she even creates something like this if she has to. And in her infamous "Sometime for somewhat"-boxes she searched for items that might fit into Bowler's home.
 

 

Das kleine Blumenarrangement haben wir vor einiger Zeit von Tatiana zu Weihnachten bekommen - liebe Tatiana, hoffentlich verzeihst Du meiner Birgit, dass sie Deine Miniatur ein wenig eingefärbt hat... Hier noch mal eine Nahaufnahme von Bowlers Bonbongläsern:
The little flower arrangement was given to us some time ago as a Christmas gift by Tatiana - dear Tatiana, we hope you will forgive my Birgit that your miniature received a little paint makeover... And here's a close-up of Bowler's candy jars:

Ich finde, das sieht richtig edel aus... und Bowler gefällt's und das ist ja die Hauptsache. Und damit kommen wir schon zum letzten Programmpunkt: Der kleinen Dosis Glück! Ja, wir haben das Glück gefunden, genauer gesagt Birgit und das obwohl sie gar nicht danach gesucht hatte. Und ausgerechnet in unserem Hinterhof hat sie es gefunden - wer hätte es da schon vermutet?! *schmunzel*
According to me it looks quite noble... and Bowler is over the moon with it and that's all that counts. And now we come to our last topic: A litte bit of luck! Yes, we've found luck, to be more exact it was Birgit and she didn't even search for it. And she found it of all in our backyard - who would ever have expected it to be there?! *smile*

Willkommen im Juli

Hallo,

 

nun ist es amtlich... mehr als die Hälfte des Jahres ist um. Und es nützt auch nichts, die Augen davor zu verschließen... wir müssen tapfer sein und uns eingestehen: Es bleiben nicht mehr allzu viele Tage übrig, um Pluspunkte im Goldenen Buch des Weihnachtsmannes zu sammeln. *schluck* Und wenn man wie ich die Pfoten nicht immer aus der Bonbonschale lassen kann... *flööt*... tja, dann muss man zusehen, dass man jeden Pluspunkt mitnimmt, den man bekommen kann. Eine schöne Gelegenheit dafür sind ja Gentlebär-Tätigkeiten aller Art - also habe ich auch diesen Monatsanfang genutzt und meiner Birgit wie immer beim Umstellen ihrer vielen Kalender geholfen. Schauen wir mal, was unser Sprüchekalender für den Juli bereit hält...

 ... now it's official... more than half of the year is gone already. And there's no way to deny it... we have to be brave and face the truth: There are not many days left to collect some good points in Santa's Golden Book. *gulp* And if you like me are not able to keep your paws out of the candy jar... *tweet*... well, than you have to make sure to collect any good point you can get. A nice way to gain some are gentlebeary jobs of all sorts - so I've taken the opportunity at this month's beginning to help my Birgit as usual with the update of her several calendars. Let's have a look what our wisdom calendar offers for July...

             

                      

Ein schönes Rosenarrangement... Sieht ein bisschen aus wie die Rosen in unserem Garten, oder?
A very pretty arrangement of roses. They're looking a bit like the roses in our garden, don't they?

                   

 

Nein, keine Angst, jetzt kommt keine neue Folge von "Und schon wieder jede Menge Fotos von BiWuBärchen im Garten"... *lach* Wir müssen uns ja noch den Spruch anschauen, diesmal von Vincent van Gogh: "Wenn Blumen, gleichgültig welcher Farben und Formen, zusammenstehen, kann niemals ein Bild der Disharmonie entstehen." Ja, der Mann kannte sich natürlich aus... es stimmt, in einer Blumenvase oder einem Blumenbeet kann man alles kombinieren und es sieht immer gut aus. Wenn man allerdings ein Haus für einen Schneemann baut, dann passen nicht unbedingt alle Farben - zumindest, wenn meine Birgit im Spiel ist, die beschlossen hat, nur ganz bestimmte Farben für Bowlers Haus zu verwenden. Übrigens bin ich gerade von mir selbst begeistert, wie gut ich diese Überleitung hin bekommen habe... *hihi* Beim letzten Mal hatten wir Euch ja diesen kleinen Appetizer gezeigt:
No, do not fear, this is not the start of a new volume of "And once more many pictures of BiWuBearies in the garden"... *LOL* We still need to have a look at this month's saying coming from Vincent van Gogh who said whenever flowers - no matter what color or shape - stand together this could never become a picture of disharmony. Yes, this man knew for sure what he was talking about... it's true, in a flower vase or a flower bed you can combine everything and it will always look good together. But if you're building a house for a snowman not every colors is supposed to match - at least if my Birgit is involved who has decided only to use special colors for Bowler's home. Btw I'm somehow proud of me how well I managed this bridge to the next topic... *teehee* In our last post we had shown you this little appetizer:
 

 

Wie man sieht ist Hellblau neben Weiß und Silber eine der Farben, die in Birgits Farbkonzept vorkommen - und weil dies das Fenster eines Schneemannhauses wird, durfte eben auch außen eine Portion von diesem kalten, weißen Zeug nicht fehlen.
As you can see light blue is next to white and silver one of the colors that appear in Birgit's color vision - and because this is a window for a snowman's home a little dose of this cold white stuff could not be missed either.
 

 

Die Scheibe bekam noch eine Deko aus Schneeflockenstickern, die Fassade der Ecke dagegen hat Birgit einfach gehalten und nur mit weißer Wellpappe verkleidet. Das sieht dann so aus:
The glass also got a decoration with snowflake stickers but for the facade of the corner Birgit kept it simple and just covered it with "Wellpappe" (= special type of cardboard) in white. This is how it looks like:
            

 

Als Nächstes hat Birgit sich an die Gestaltung des Fußbodens gemacht. Dabei kamen Holzornamente in Schneeflockenform zum Einsatz.
After this Birgit started with creating the floor. For this she used wood ornaments in the shape of snowflakes.
                   

 

Die hat Birgit weiß angemalt und sogar beglittert, was eigentlich sonst nicht so Birgits Ding ist, aber in dem Fall sorgt es für eine frostige Optik... sagt meine Birgit.
Birgit painted them white and even put glitter on them which is usually not really Birgit's alley but in this case it shall create a frosty look... that's what my Birgit says.
 

 

Gut, auf diesem Foto sieht man den frostigen Glitterschimmer leider nicht wirklich... Jedenfalls wurden die Schneeflockenornamente auf dem Fußboden verteilt, der zuvor mit Strukturpaste bestrichen wurde.
Well, sadly this photo doesn't show the frosty glittery shimmer at all... Anyhow, the snowflake ornaments were spread all over the floor which was covered with structure paste first.
 

 

Und damit das ganze schön eben wird, kam noch eine Schicht Eis drüber...
And to make all of this nicely plain a layer of ice was placed on top...
 

 

Okay... eigentlich ist es Bastelfolie, aber Birgit wollte halt, dass es so aussieht, als ob man auf dem Boden Schlittschuhlaufen könne. Und nachdem die Ecke tapeziert war, sah das Ganze so aus:
Okay, in fact it's foil for crafting projects but Birgit wanted all of this to look as if you'd be able to go ice skating on that floor. And after the corner got wallpapers all of this looked like this:
 

 

Nun bin ich ja kein Schneemann, sondern ein Flatterbärchen und Erdbeerliebhaber... ach ja... Erdbeeren... süße, rote, saftige, aromatische Erdbeeren... *seufz*... ich könnte schon wieder eine ganze Schüssel voll verputzen... äh... wo war ich...also, ich hätte Bedenken, ob man in so einem Raum nicht irgendwann anfängt zu frieren, aber Bowler sagt, das ist echter Snowman Chic und er sei total begeistert, nun, er soll ja darin wohnen und ich nur hin und wieder mal auf ein Erdbeereis zu Besuch kommen... *zwinker* Auf jeden Fall ist so ein Schneeflockenboden schon irgendwie interessant - so was muss man erst mal haben. Und es gibt da noch einen schönen Nebeneffekt: Ihr habt ja eben schon gesehen, dass diese Holzornamente in einem Holzkasten mit Fächern verpackt waren - und daraus hat Birgit gleich noch ein schönes Regal für Bowlers Wohnzimmer gemacht.
Well, as you know I'm not a snowman but a flutterybeary and strawberry connoisseur... oh my... strawberries... sweet, red, juicy, aromatic strawberries... *sigh* I could have a bowl full right here and now... eh... where was I... so, I have in a way concerns about starting to freeze in such a room but Bowler says this would be true Snowman Chic and he would be over the moon with it, so, he's the one who's supposed to live there and I will only visit him every now and then to have a strawberry ice cream together... *wink* Anyhow such a snowflake floor is somehow interesting - and very unique for sure. And there's also a very nice side effect: You've already seen that these wood ornaments were packed in a nice wood box with compartments - and Birgit used this to create a lovely shelf for Bowler's living room.
            

 

Fragt sich, wie Birgit das Regal dekorieren wird... und was für Möbel Bowler noch bekommen wird... ich meine, wie und worauf sitzt eigentlich ein Schneemann? Tja, da sind noch einige Fragen offen... und die werden wir bestimmt irgendwann beantworten... mal sehen... vielleicht im nächsten Post??? *grins*
But now I wonder how Birgit is going to decorate this shelf... and what kind of furniture Bowler will get... I mean how and where does a snowman sit down? Well, there are many questions still needing to be answered.. and I suppose we are going to answer them some time... let's see... maybe in our next post??? *grin*
