Nr. / No. 1 in 2021

 Hallo,

wir hoffen, Ihr seid gut ins Neue Jahr gekommen... obwohl 2021 ja wie erwartet da weiter macht, wo 2020 aufgehört hat. Wir halten hier ja unsere eigenen Traditionen hoch, deshalb konnte man wie in jedem Jahr schon am 1. Januar "Weihnachten?!" rufen und bekam keine Antwort mehr. *lach* Und so grüßen Rosey und ich heute wieder aus Strawberry Cottage... und denken manchmal mit Wehmut daran, wie lecker doch Teddys Punsch war. *seufz*

... we hope all of you made it well into the New Year... although as we all expected 2021 keeps going the way 2020 ended. Around here we're keeping up to our own traditions that's why as in every year at January 1st you could have called out loud "Christmas?!" and would have received no more answer. *LOL* And so Rosey and I are greeting today from Strawberry Cottage again... but sometimes we remember with loads of regrets how yummy Teddy's punch has been. *sigh* 

 

Ich muss allerdings ein bisschen aufpassen, was ich sage, sonst provoziere ich wieder einen Vortrag von Birgit zum Thema "Alles hat seine Zeit..." *grins* Und ehrlich... wenn man bedenkt, wie schnell die Zeit immer vergeht... dann ist der November gar nicht mehr so weit weg und der BiWuBären Weihnachtsmarkt öffnet bald wieder! Heißa!!! Birgit meint ja auch immer, nach Weihnachten wäre vor Weihnachten... gut, sie meint das basteltechnisch und so... aber was mich angeht... *schluck*... es ist nie zu früh, um sich ein paar Pluspunkte für das Goldene Buch zu verdienen. Ich hoffe zum Beispiel sehr, dass ich mir ein, zwei, drei, vier Pluspunkte durch meine engagierte Hilfsleistung beim Neuaufhängen von Birgits zahlreichen Kalendern verdient habe. Und weil das ja im Januar mehr Arbeit ist als sonst, hat Rosey diesmal auch geholfen... wobei... ich bärsönlich vermute ja, meine kleine Schwester möchte auch ein paar leicht verdiente Pluspunkte haben. Ob das wohl mein Kontingent verkleinert??? Hoffentlich nicht... äh... aber zurück zur Sache... natürlich hat Birgit auch in diesem Jahr wieder einen Sprüchekalender. Und der zeigt uns neben einem schönen Bild einen Spruch von Titus Maccius Plautus: "Behalte dein Glück stillschweigend für dich und erfreue dich daran."

But I need to take care about what I'm saying or otherwise I'm provoking another sermon of Birgit about the topic "Everything has its own time..." *grin* And honestly... regarding how fast time always runs... then November isn't that far away anymore and the BiWuBeary Christmas Market will soon open once more! Yippiieee!!! And according to Birgit after Christmas is before Christmas... well, this is a crafter's point of view... but as far as I am concerned... *gulp*... it's never too early to gain a few good points for Santa's Golden Book. For example I really hope that I've gained myself one, two, three, four good points with my dedicated help with hanging up Birgit's numerous calendars. And because this is more work in January than usual Rosey also helped this time... however... bearsonally I suppose that my little sis' is hoping for a few easily earned good points too. Could this reduce my contingent??? Hopefully not... eh... but back to our topic... of course Birgit has another wisdom calendar for this year. And this is showing next to a lovely picture a saying by Titus Maccius Plautus who advised us to silently keep our happiness to ourselves and enjoy it on our own.

Mit Verlaub - das sehen wir anders. Glück sollte man teilen... und genau das tun wir jedes Jahr in unserem 1. Post, denn da zeigen wir ja immer, wie unglaublich lieb viele in Blogland zu Weihnachten an uns gedacht haben (wobei viele Päckchen erst im Januar eingetroffen sind... vermutlich haben die Heiligen Drei Könige ihnen erst den Weg zeigen müssen *schmunzel*). So viel vorweg: Wir sind wieder so reichhaltig und wunderbar beschenkt worden... unglaublich, wie sehr wir verwöhnt wurden. Und mit wie viel Liebe und Bedacht Geschenke extra für uns gemacht wurden... nun, seht selbst. Wir halten uns wie immer an die alphabetische Reihenfolge und starten daher mit den Geschenken von Alex. Da gab es jede Menge wunderschöne Miniaturen für das Weihnachtshaus...

With all due respect - but we don't agree with him. Happiness should be shared... and that's exactly what we're doing every year in our 1st post because that's when we're showing how incredibly kind so many in blogland have thought of us for Christmas (although many packages arrived in January... perhaps the Three Kings had to help them find their way *smile*) This much in advance: Once more we've received loads of wonderful gifts... it's incredible how much we've been spoiled. And it's amazing with how much love and care gifts were made just for us... well, have a look now. As always we're doing it in alphabetical order and so we're starting with the gifts from Alex. We received loads of beautiful miniatures for the Christmas House...

Viele werden das aus Carmens Adventskalenderbeitrag kennen - und Birgit muss jetzt nicht mal mehr selbst basteln. *hihi* Unnötig zu erwähnen, dass dieses fantastische Elf-on-the-shelf-Ensemble inklusive der wunderbaren Bücher einen Ehrenplatz im Weihnachtshaus bekommen wird. Und Carmens legendärer Kalender wird sich richtig gut im Bärchenhaus machen. Aber da war noch mehr... und das hat Rosey und mich so richtig gerührt... und bei Birgit zu Augenschweiß geführt.

Many of you will know this Advent calendar contribution by Carmen - and Birgit has no more reason to craft this herself now. *teehee* And needless to mention that this gorgeous Elf-on-the-shelf-ensemble including the terrific books will get a place of honor in the Christmas House. And Carmen's legendary calendar will be perfect in the Beary House. But there was still more... and this touched Rosey and me deeply... and caused some eyesweat from Birgit.

Wie alles aus Droras Händen einfach nur wunderschön - und Drora hat auch die stille Blogleserin nicht vergessen und extra eine ganz tolle Seife mitgeschickt. Was für eine wunderbare Idee für eine Familientradition... wir freuen uns jetzt schon darauf, dieses Buch in der nächsten Adventszeit zu genießen. Vielen Dank, liebe Ilona! Von Jennifer haben wir eine ihrer wunderbaren Karten bekommen, leider hat sie das Bloggen ja schon vor Jahren aufgegeben - trotzdem auch von dieser Stelle aus vielen Dank!

Mit zwei (wie immer wenn Pilar sie macht) wunderschönen lesbaren Weihnachtsbüchern, einer Schachtel mit Tarotkarten, einem Ouija-Brett und herrlichen Decals. Darüber haben wir uns schon riesig gefreut - aber dass wir einmal die folgenden Miniaturen, die wir bereits ausgiebig auf Pilars Blog bewundert hatten, in Händen/Pfoten halten würden, damit hätten wir nicht mal im Traum gerechnet!

With two stunning and readable Christmas books (perfect as always when made by Pilar), a box of Tarot cards, an Ouija board and fantastic decals. We were already absolutely happy with this - and we never expected not even in our dreams to once hold the following miniatures in our hands/paws which we already admired at Pilar's blog!

Wunderschön, oder? Das handgestickte Kissen ist natürlich einfach nur perfekt für das Bärchenhaus, aber auch die wunderschöne Alice-Theaterbühne wird dort einen Ehrenplatz bekommen. Aber das war noch nicht alles... und die letzte Miniatur hat hier echt Augenschweiß ausgelöst:

Und damit kommen wir zu Véronique - deren Weihnachtsgruß hier auf ganz besondere Weise ankam. Um Birgit eine besondere Freude zu machen, hat Vèronique nämlich eine ganz tolle, superwinzige Weihnachtsmann-Miniatur bei Georgia Marfels gekauft und sie gebeten, diese direkt an uns zu schicken (Georgia ist ja eine deutsche Miniaturistin). Doppelte Überraschung sozusagen - und einen Bärchenanhänger gab's noch als Geschenk dazu!

Perhaps somebody recognizes it - we have used it for the photo of our Christmas greeting post. Thank you so much, Ulrike! And with this we're coming to Véronique - and her Christmas greeting arrived in a very special way. For making Birgit extra happy Véronique bought a stunning, teenytiny Santa miniature from Georgia Marfels and asked her to send it directly to us (as Georgia is a German miniaturist). Somehow a double surprise - and on top we received the beary charm as an extra gift!

Vielen Dank, liebe Véronique. Und damit wäre unsere Geschenkeparade eigentlich beendet... wenn, ja wenn wir uns nicht noch ein ganz besonderes Geschenk für den Schluß aufgehoben hätte. Und dieses besondere Geschenk haben wir von Ilona zum 4. Advent (!) bekommen - obwohl es für mehrere Weihnachten und Geburtstage zusammen gereicht hätte. Irgendwann letztes Frühjahr hat Ilona Birgit gefragt, ob sie Interesse hätte an einem Bett, das Ilona vor Jahren aus Spaß gemacht hat, für das sie aber keine Verwendung hatte. Birgit ist eigentlich nicht gierig, aber als sie die Fotos gesehen hat, war es Liebe auf den 1. Blick! *lach* Dieses besondere Bett ist aber auch wirklich wie gemacht für das Weihnachtshaus - und wenn Ihr die Bilder seht, wisst Ihr sofort, warum Birgit nicht widerstehen konnte und Ilonas mehr als großzügiges Angebot angenommen hat:

Thank you so much, dear Véronique. And with this our parade of gifts would actually be over... if, yes if we wouldn't have kept a very special gift for the end. And this special gift was given to us by Ilona for Advent 4th (!) - although it would have been worth to be a gift for many Christmasses and birthdays combined. Sometime last spring Ilona asked Birgit if she was interested in a bed Ilona had made a few years ago just for fun without having any use for it. Usually Birgit is not greedy but when she saw the photos it was for sure love at first sight! *LOL* But indeed it seems that this special bed was made just for the Christmas House - and if you're looking at the pictures you will know at once why Birgit couldn't resist and accepted Ilona's more than generous offer:

... oh... oops... okay, Rosey guckt mich zu Recht schief von der Seite an, mir fällt gerade noch rechtzeitig ein, dass ich ja letztes Jahr auch ein wunderschönes neues Bett bekommen habe... *flöööt*... schneller Themenwechsel... Auch wir haben ja viele Weihnachtsgrüße verschickt - von denen leider immer noch einige unterwegs sind und hoffentlich, HOFFENTLICH noch ankommen werden. Die kleinen Häuschen, die Birgit gemacht hat (übrigens aus einem Bausatz für ein Vogelhaus von Artofmini *lach*) waren ja schon auf einigen Blogs zu sehen...

... oh... oops... okay, Rosey is right giving me this certain look now, just in time I remember that I've already received a wonderful new bed last year... *tweet*... quick change of topics... But we too have sent many Christmas greetings - and sadly some of them are still on their way and will hopefully, HOPEFULLY still arrive. The little houses Birgit has made (btw using a kit for a birdhouse by Artofmini *LOL*) could already be seen on several blogs...

Diesen Türkranz hat Birgit der stillen Blogleserin zu Weihnachten geschenkt - unnötig zu erwähnen, dass die selbstgemachten Schneemannköpfe bei unserer hauseigenen Schneemannliebhaberin seeeeeehr gut angekommen sind. Was Birgit aber von der stillen Blogleserin zu Weihnachten bekommen hat, das zeigen wir Euch hoffentlich beim nächsten Mal. Birgit muss nämlich noch ein bisschen daran werkeln und sie sagt auch, auf's Fotografieren der sehr winzigen Teile freue sie sich jetzt schon. *grins* 

Birgit has given this door wreath as a Christmas gift to the silent blogreader - needless to mention that the selfmade snowman heads were absolutely to the likings of our in-house snowman lover. But what Birgit received from the silent blogreader for Christmas we are hopefully going to show the next time. Birgit still needs to put a bit of work and time to it and she also said she would really look forward to taking pictures of those tiny pieces. *grin*

Weihnachtsgruß / Christmas Greeting

 Hallo,

wie versprochen (oder wie angedroht - je nach Sichtweise *lach*): Hier sind wir schon wieder, denn natürlich lassen wir es uns nicht nehmen, Euch noch einmal zum Beginn von Weihnachten bärsönlich zu grüßen. Und natürlich auch um Euch daran zu erinnern, dass ein schöner Kaffeeklatsch immer eine gute Idee ist - und an Weihnachten sogar noch mehr. Ihr wisst ja... mit ein, zwei Tässchen leckerem Weihnachtskaffee und ein, zwei, drei, vier Stückchen oberleckerem Weihnachtskuchen.

... as promised (or perhaps as threatened - depends on your point of view *LOL*): Here we are again because it's for sure a question of honor for us to greet you bearsonally when Christmas begins. And of course we would like to remind you that a nice "Kaffeeklatsch" is always a great idea - but even more at Christmas. You know by now... with one, two cups of tasty Christmas coffee and one, two, three, four pieces of yummy Christmas cake. 

Und eigentlich wollten wir nur ganz kurz frohes Fest wünschen, denn ganz ehrlich... der Post am 4. Advent hatte ja selbst für uns Überlänge. *grins* Aber dann fand Birgit, dass es vielleicht ganz schön wäre, angesichts dieses merkwürdigen, außergewöhnlichen und herausfordernden Jahres doch noch einmal eine Geschichte zu erzählen, die (zumindest finden wir das) gut in diese Zeit passt. Zugegeben, wir haben sie erst vor zwei Jahren erzählt, aber schließlich war damals auch Heiligabend... *schmunzel*

And we had intended to do just a short Christmas greeting because honestly... our post for Advent 4th was even for us a XXL-version. *grin* But then Birgit thought that it might be nice regarding this strange, extraordinary and challenging year to re-tell a story which fits quite well in these times (at least according to us). We must admit that we've already told it two years ago; however... back then it was Christmas Eve too... *smile*

Und daher erzählen wir noch einmal diese wahre Geschichte, die sich genau heute vor 202 Jahren am 24. Dezember 1818 zugetragen hat. In Europa erlebten die Menschen damals harte und beängstigende Zeiten, die Napoleonischen Kriege waren zwar vorüber, aber überall herrschten Zerstörung und Armut und die politischen Verhältnisse waren instabil. Auch im kleinen Ort Oberndorf in Österreich litten die Menschen - und sie sehnten die Weihnachtstage herbei... mit ihrer Festlichkeit, mit Ruhe und Frieden und natürlich der feierlichen Messe. Das war auch dem Pfarrer des Ortes bewusst - der deshalb noch verzweifelter war, als die Orgel seiner Kirche kaputt ging und nicht mehr rechtzeitig zum Fest repariert werden konnte. Um das Weihnachtsfest zu retten, bat er einen befreundeten Lehrer um Hilfe. Sie nahmen ein Gedicht, dass der Pfarrer vor Jahren geschrieben hatte, der Lehrer schrieb in Windeseile eine einfache Melodie dazu und sie trugen es gemeinsam zum Weihnachtsgottesdienst vor. Der Pfarrer sang die Tenorstimme und spielte Gitarre (was übrigens bemerkenswert ist, denn damals gehörte eine Gitarre in eine Kneipe oder Spelunke aber sicher nicht in eine Kirche), der Lehrer sang Bass... Und ihr Lied, aus der Not geboren, berührte die Menschen in der St. Nikola Kirche sofort. 

So we're telling once more this true story which happened exactly 202 years ago at December 24th in 1818. The European people in those days had to face hard and terrifying times; although the Napoleonic Wars were over there was still destruction and poverty and the political situation was unstable. Also in the small village Oberndorf in Austria the people were suffering - and they were longing for Christmas time... with its festivity, the peace and tranquility and of course the church service. This was also pretty clear to the village's priest - and made him even more desperate because the organ of his church was broken and could not be repaired in time for the Christmas service. To save the Christmas celebrations he asked a friend of his, a local teacher, for help. They used a poem the priest had written some time ago, the teacher wrote in a wink of an eye a simple melody and they performed it together during Christmas service. The priest sang tenor and played guitar (which is btw remarkable because in these times a guitar belonged into a tavern or pub but for sure not into a church), the teacher sang bass... And their song, born in distress, touched the people in the St. Nikola Church at once. 

Seit diesem Heiligabend vor 202 Jahren hat dieses Lied die Welt erobert, es ist inzwischen immaterielles UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe und es wurde in so gut wie jede Sprache übersetzt. Ihr kennt es alle und wisst bestimmt auch, dass der Name des Pfarrers Josef Mohr war und der Lehrer Franz Xaver Gruber hieß. Und ihr Lied beginnt so:

Since this Christmas Eve 202 years ago this song has conquered the world, in the meantime it became an intangible cultural heritage announced by the UNESCO and was translated into almost every language. All of you know it and we suppose you even know that the priest's name was Josef Mohr and the teacher was called Franz Xaver Gruber. And their song starts like this in English:

Silent night, holy night,

All is calm, all is bright.

Round yon virgin mother and child.

Holy infant, so tender and mild,

Sleep in heavenly peace!

Wir alle haben in 2020 ein Jahr erlebt, das wir noch am letzten Weihnachten nicht für möglich gehalten hätten. Und wir wissen schon jetzt, dass 2021 zumindest in den ersten Monaten nicht besser werden wird. Immerhin gibt es Hoffnung, dass der Impfstoff die Pandemie beenden wird. Und alle von uns, die bis jetzt einigermaßen durch diese globale Krise gekommen sind - ohne am Virus zu erkranken, ohne geliebte Menschen zu verlieren oder sich um sie sorgen zu müssen (aus welchem Grund auch immer) und ohne Angst um den Job oder sogar die Existenz in die Zukunft schauen können - haben mehr Grund als je zuvor um dankbar zu sein. Und vielleicht können wir von Mohr und Gruber auch heute noch lernen, dass es wichtig ist, einfach das Beste aus allem zu machen. Auch wenn wir unsere Lieben dieses Weihnachten weder umarmen und noch persönlich treffen können - seien wir dankbar, wenn wir wenigstens per Telefon oder Videochat mit ihnen Kontakt haben können. Ein Hoch auf die virtuelle Umarmung - und genau die bekommt Ihr jetzt auch von uns! 

All of us experienced in 2020 a year which none of us would ever considered to even be possible last Christmas. And we already know by now that 2021 won't become much better, at least not during the first months. However there's hope that the vaccine will end the pandemic. And all of us who made it somehow well so far during this global crisis - without getting sick from the virus, without losing dear ones or without having to worry about them (whatever the reason may be) and being able to face the future without any fear about the job or even the existence - have even more reasons to be thankful. And perhaps Mohr and Gruber can still teach us today how to make the best out of a bad situation. And although we aren't able to hug or personally meet our dear ones this Christmas - let's be thankful that we can still stay in touch via telephone or videochat. Here's to the virtual hug - and that's what you'll get from us right now!

bevor wir loslegen mit unserem Post zum 4. Advent vorweg zwei wichtige redaktionelle Hinweise:

1. Ein Becher mit Kaffee oder Tee und ggf. auch ein paar Weihnachtsplätzchen in Reichweite beim Lesen dieses Posts wären keine schlechte Idee. Es schadet auch nicht, wenn der Becher so groß ist wie der, in den Rosey und ich heute für das Kaffeeklatschfoto geklettert sind. *kicher*

1. A mug filled with coffee or tea and perhaps a few Christmas cookies in reach wouldn't be a bad idea while reading this post. And it wouldn't harm neither if the mug was as big as the one Rosey and I entered today for the "Kaffeeklatsch"-photo. *giggle*

2. Wir hoffen auf sachdienliche Angaben, wo der Dezember abgeblieben ist!!! Kann uns irgendwer erklären, wie es passieren konnte, dass wir heute schon den 4. Advent haben??? Und Donnerstag ist schon Heiligabend... nur noch so beängstigend wenig Zeit, um Pluspunkte im Goldenen Buch des Weihnachtsmannes zu sammeln... *schluck*

2. We really hope to get serious information where December has gone to!!! Is anybody able to explain to us how it could ever happen that we're facing Advent 4th today??? And next Thursday is already Christmas Eve... only so frightening little time left to gain good points in the Golden Book of Santa... *gulp*

Ehrlich, die Zeit läuft im Dezember doch noch schneller als sonst, oder??? Wir sind uns ja eher selten einig, Rosey und ich... aber wenn wir heute am 4. Advent beim Adventssonntagskaffeeklatsch zusammen sitzen und diese Frage erörtern, sind wir ausnahmsweise mal einer Meinung. *grins*

Honestly, time runs even faster in December than it usually does, doesn't it??? We do not often share an opinion, Rosey and I... but when sitting together today at Advent 4th enjoying an Adventsunday-"Kaffeeklatsch" and discussing this question we do agree for a change. *grin*

Aber uns treibt auch eine weitere Frage um - warum läuft Abigail Gabble immer so aufgeregt hin und her?

But there's another question in our thoughts - why on earth is Abigail Gabble running up and down so nervously?

Wo bleibt denn da die weihnachtliche Besinnlichkeit? Wuff fragt sich auch schon, ob irgendwas nicht stimmt...

What about the Christmassy tranquility? And Wuff too is wondering already if anything could be wrong...

Flutterby: Äh... Abby... erwartest Du jemanden?

Abby: Ja, ehrlich gesagt schon... Ich habe da nämlich eine kleine Überraschung für Euch geplant, als Dankeschön, weil ich wieder die Weihnachtszeit bei Euch verbringen darf.

Flutterby: Eh... Abby... are you expecting anybody?

Abby: To be honest, yes, I do... See, I have planned a little surprise for you; as a "Thank you" because I was invited to spend Christmas time with you.

Rosey: Ach, Abby... das ist doch wirklich nicht nötig... wir sind doch froh, dass Du da bist. Die Weihnachtszeit wäre ohne Dich nicht die gleiche, stimmt's Fluby?... (*lauter*) Ich sagte, stimmt's, Fluby???

Flutterby: Wie... äh... klar... natürlich... äh... wie war das mit der Überraschung???

Rosey: (verdreht die Augen)

Abby (lacht): Ich glaube, die kommt gerade...Hört Ihr es auch?

Rosey: My, Abby... this is really not necessary... we're happy to have you here. Christmas time wouldn't be the same without you, don't you agree, Fluby?... (*louder*) I said, don't you agree, Fluby???

Flutterby: Huh... eh... sure... of course... eh... what did you say about a surprise???

Rosey: (rolls her eyes)

Abby (laughing): I suppose it is just coming... Do you hear it too?

Flutterby (sieht Rosey an): Ja... aber... ist das möglich?

Rosey (strahlt): Eindeutig... Silberglöckchen!

Flutterby (looking at Rosey): But... my... is this possible?

Rosey (beaming with joy): Sure... silver bells!

Abby (läuft zur Tür, die sich wie von Zauberhand öffnet, und ruft): Dancer! Dasher! Da seid Ihr ja!

Dasher: Hallo zusammen. Schön wieder hier zu sein!

Dancer: Und Christmas Cottage sieht noch schöner aus als beim letzten Mal... toller neuer Fußboden, Fluby!

Abby (running towards the door which opens magically and shouts): Dancer! Dasher! There you are!

Dasher: Hello all together. Nice to be here again!

Dancer: And Christmas Cottage is looking even lovelier than it did the last time... awesome new floor, Fluby!

Flutterby: Das ist aber wirklich eine tolle Überraschung! Danke, Abby! Herzlich Willkommen, Freunde!

Rosey: Schön, Euch zu sehen!

Abby: Moment, die Überraschung kommt doch erst noch... ich habe Dancer und Dasher nämlich hergebeten, damit sie Euch zum BiWuBären-Weihnachtsmarkt fliegen... Ihr habt ja heute noch ein wenig zu arbeiten, oder?

Flutterby (schluckt): Stimmt... das hätte ich vor lauter Adventskaffeeklatsch fast vergessen.

Rosey (nickt): Ja, wir müssen noch ein paar Fotos liefern... und Ihr wollt mitkommen? 

Flutterby: This is for sure a fantastic surprise! Thanks, Abby! A heartfelt welcome, friends!

Rosey: Great to see you!

Abby: Just a moment, the surprise is yet to come... I've asked Dancer and Dasher to drop by so they can fly you to the BiWuBeary Christmas Market... because you two have still a little work to do today, don't you?

Flutterby (swallows): Right... I had almost forgotten this with all this business of Advent-"Kaffeeklatsch".

Rosey (nodding): Yes, we still need to get a few photos... and you want to come along with us?

Dancer (schüttelt den Kopf): Nein, wir fliegen Euch nur hin (*grinst*) Wir wollen doch keinen Aufruhr unter den BiWuBärchen verursachen.

Dasher (lacht): Wenn da plötzlich zwei Rentiere des Weihnachtsmannes auftauchen, fällt Euren Kumpels noch der Glühweinbecher aus der Pfote. Aber wir bringen Euch hin, als Euer bärsönliches Rentiertaxi... schnell wie der Wind... kann's losgehen?

Dancer (shaking her head): No, we're just giving you a flight. (*grins*) We don't want to cause any rampage among the BiWuBearies.

Dasher (laughing): If two of Santa's reindeers appeared there all of a sudden we would risk "Glühwein"-mugs dropping out of the paws of your buddies. But we're bringing you to them, as your bearsonal reindeer taxi... as fast as the wind... can we start?

Na, was glaubt Ihr wohl? So schnell könntet Ihr gar nicht gucken, wie Rosey und ich auf Dashers und Dancers Rücken geklettert sind. Wann hat man schon mal die Gelegenheit, auf einem Rentier des Weihnachtsmannes zu fliegen? Gut, bei mir ist es sogar schon das zweite Mal... immerhin habe ich vor Jahren Dasher schon einmal dabei geholfen, Weihnachten zu retten... aber glaubt mir, so ein Erlebnis ist echt der Hammer!!!

So, what would you expect now? You wouldn't even have managed to watch Rosey and me climbing on Daher's and Dancer's backs. When does anybody ever get the chance to fly on one of Santa's reindeers? Well, for me it's already the second time... regarding that I've helped Dasher to save Christmas a few years ago... but believe me, such an experience is a true burner!!!

Und da sind wir auch schon... und die Beiden sind schon wieder auf dem Weg zurück zum Nordpol. Schade, dass sie nicht noch bleiben konnten.. aber gut... wir haben ja nun auch zu tun... oder in anderen Worten: Herzlich Willkommen auf dem BiWuBären-Weihnachtsmarkt!

And here we are... and the two reindeers are already on their way back to the North Pole. So sad that they couldn't stay a little longer... but okay... we still have work to do... or in other words: A cordial welcome to the BiWuBeary Christmas Market!

Zusätzlich zu uns BiWuBärchen tummeln sich hier wie immer auch ein paar Goebel-Engel als Besucher. Außerdem begrüßen wir dieses Jahr auch wieder Sunflower, Bruni und Angie, drei BiWuBärchen im Besitz von Birgits Tante, die extra aus unserer Landeshauptstadt Kiel angereist sind, um mit uns Weihnachten zu feiern. Die Verkäuferbären sind von Steiff - und der legendäre Teddy stammt von Teddy Hermann Original. Und nur für Megan (Winkewinke nach Südafrika!), die weder Tod noch Teufel scheut und ihre Deutschkenntnisse ausgerechnet mit Hilfe unseres Blogs verbessert, markieren wir alle Bärchennamen - so wird's hoffentlich etwas einfacher für Dich. *zwinker*

Next to us BiWuBearies there are also a few angels by Goebel visiting our market. And this year we can also welcome Sunflower, Bruni and Angie once more, three BiWuBearies being owned by Birgit's aunt who traveled from our capital Kiel to spend the holidays with us. The sales bears were made by Steiff - and the legendary Teddy was made by Teddy Hermann Original. And because some of the BiWuBearies' names might give trouble to those who are using a translator we're going to mark them in the English text.

Für unseren Sunny gibt es auf dem Weihnachtsmarkt jedoch nur eine Art von Spaß: Drachenreiten!!! Nur gut, dass Tschang so gutmütig ist... und wir anderen die Hoffnung, auch mal dran zu kommen, längst aufgegeben haben. Es ist Weihnachtszeit - und wenn Sunny glücklich ist, dann sind wir es auch! ;O)

But for our Sunny there's only one kind of fun at the Christmas Market: Riding on a dragon's back!!! It's a relief that Tschang is so good-natured... and that the rest of us gave up all hope by now to ever get a chance for a ride too. Well, it's Christmas time - and if Sunny is happy we are happy too! ;O)

... während Holly und Angelina sich wie in jedem Jahr nicht einigen können, ob es nun rot-grüne oder doch weiß-silberne Kugeln sein sollen. Bruni an der "Glashütte" ist vom Angebot noch so überwältigt, dass sie noch nicht einmal die Farbe eingegrenzt hat. *lach*

... while Holly and Angelina have their annual discussion whether to get red and green baubles or white and silver ones instead. And Bruni is so overwhelmed from the offer at the "Glashütte" that she isn't even able to decide for a colour scheme. *LOL*

Ele war wie immer schnell mit seinen Weihnachtseinkäufen und denkt jetzt darüber nach, sich und seinem kleinen Freund Fant etwas Leckeres vom Hexenkarren zu gönnen.

Ele was as always very fast with his Christmas shopping and is now thinking about spoiling himself and his little friend Fant with something yummy from the Witch's Cart.

Auch in diesem Jahr hat sich das Goebel-Engelchen eine Lebkuchenkette gegönnt - und Lucky ist wie in jedem Jahr begeistert.

And in this year too the Goebel angel treated herself with a gingerbread string - and as in every year Lucky is really admiring it.

Auch Azurro findet die Lebkuchen lecker... aber er wird sich hoffentlich gleich besinnen, dass Kuchen noch leckerer ist. *grins*

Azurro too thinks the gingerbread looks yummy... but hopefully he will remember soon that cake is even yummier. *grin*

An diesem Tisch treffen sich Mon Chéri und Erdbärchen zum gemütlichen Plausch... und Herzbube schaut wie immer seinem Lavendelinchen tief in die Augen.

At this table Mon Chéri and Erdbärchen meet for a nice chat... while Herzbube gets lost as always in the eyes of his Lavendelinchen.

Amselino investiert gerade sein Geld in etwas, das zugleich süß und lecker ist (Eigenvermerk: Nachher Amselino begrüßen in der Hoffnung, dass er mir was abgibt... *höhö*)

And Amselino is about to spend his money for something being sweet and yummy at the same time (Note to self: Say hello to Amselino later on hoping that he will share his treats with me... *teehee*)

Und am dritten Tisch finden wir Granny Smith mit seinem langjährigen Engelfreund, Ruby Fourty und auch zwei Blogbärchen, die gerade eine wohlverdiente Pause machen.

And at the third table we're finding Granny Smith together with his long-standing angel friend, Ruby Fourty and two blogbearies enjyoing a well deserved break.

Und natürlich finden wir auch Sabienchen auf unserem Weihnachtsmarkt - und nein, sie hat sich auch in diesem Jahr noch nicht entscheiden können, ob sie ihr Geld nun in einen Schwibbogen, eine Krippe oder etwas anderes Schönes investiert. Wir haben das Wetten ja schon vor Jahren aufgegeben - aber Mysteria de Spell und ein Engelchen haben sich trotzdem bereit erklärt, Sabienchen beratend zur Seite zu stehen.

And of course we also find Sabienchen at our Christmas Market - and no, also in this year she was once more not able to decide whether to spend her money for a Schwibbogen, a nativity or another beautiful piece. We gave up placing bids on her years ago - but Mysteria de Spell and another angel still stand aside to Sabienchen offering advice.

Sally und Angie holen gerade Punschnachschub an Teddys Bude - und Ihr wisst ja: Teddys Punsch gebraut nach dem Rezept seiner Schwiegermutter ist der Beste! *schmunzel*

Sally and Angie are in charge for gettig us more punch (mulled wine) - and you know by now: Teddy's punch brewed using a recipe from his Mother-in-law is the best! *smile*

Ja, und auch ER ist wieder da... er lernt es einfach nicht... *seufz* Und wir legen natürlich wie immer Wert auf die Feststellung, dass dieser ungezogene Kerl KEIN BiWuBär ist! *grins*

And yes, HE is back again too... no chance for him to learn it still... *sigh* And of course as always we really need to point out that his nasty chap is NO BiWuBeary! *grin*

Borthud Skullington hat wie immer ein Auge auf seinen Drachenfreund Tschang - und genießt dabei einen guten Plausch mit Mikey.

Und während der Engel noch überlegt, wo noch Platz für einen weiteren Stern wäre, überprüft Igor seine Theorie, dass sich Vampirfledermäuse genau so gut in Weihnachtsbäumen machen wie Rauschgoldengel. *grins*

Äh... ach... okay... falscher Alarm... war nur ein Missverständnis, der Schwibbogen ist schön, die Krippe aber auch und die Pyramide erst... alles klar... wir werden ihr wohl auch im nächsten Jahr wieder einen Stuhl hinstellen müssen. *lach*

Eh... my... okay... false alarm... this was just a misunderstanding because the Schwibbogen is lovely but the nativity too and let's not start to talk about the pyramid... now it's pretty clear... we will have to place a chair in front of the booth for her next year too. *LOL*

Aber die stille Blogleserin hat auch von Ilona ein Geschenk bekommen - eigentlich ein Weihnachtsgeschenk, aber nachdem Birgit vorab Bilder davon gesehen und vor allem ausführliche Instruktionen zum Auspacken erhalten hat, hat Birgit nachgefragt, ob es in Ordnung wäre, wenn unsere Oma das Geschenk schon zum Nikolaustag bekommen würde. Klar war das für Ilona in Ordnung... und es passte ja auch, weil der Nikolaustag in den Niederlanden viel wichtiger ist als bei uns - und weil es schade gewesen wäre, dieses Meisterwerk erst an Weihnachten aus dem Karton zu befreien. Mit großer Freude und Dankbarkeit dürfen wir Euch vorstellen: Mr. Snowpion!

But the silent blog reader also received a gift from Ilona - which was meant to be a Christmas gift but after Birgit saw some preview pictures including a long instruction list how to unwrap it from its box Birgit asked if it was okay if our Granny would receive this gift already for St. Nicholas Day (Dec 6th). Of course Ilona gave us her okay... and it matched so well because St. Nick's Day is so much more important in the Netherlands than it is here - and because it would have been a shame not to free this masterpiece from its box before Christmas. With big joy and plenty of gratitude we may now present: Mr. Snowpion!

UNFASSBAR!!! Der Oberhammer! Und dann hatte er noch eine ganz besondere Lichterkette im Gepäck, die hat Birgit um das Schneemannglas gewickelt, das wir Euch im letzten Post gezeigt hatten.

INCREDIBLE!!! A true burner! And he even brought a very special light chain with him which Birgit decorated around the snowman jar we had shown to you in our last post.

 Perfekt! Aber auch Birgit hat in der Zwischenzeit ja Ilonas Geschenke für den 2. und 3. Advent auspacken dürfen. Diese wunderschönen Teile hat Birgit am 2. Advent bekommen:

Perfect! But in the meantime Birgit had been allowed to open Ilona's gifts for Advent 2nd and 3rd. Birgit received all these beautiful pieces for Advent 2nd:

Dabei hat sich Birgit ganz besonders über den Hirschkopf gefreut - weil sie nämlich schon mal einen ähnlichen von Ilona bekommen hat. Nun gibt es ein wunderschönes Paar für das Weihnachtshaus! *freu* Und die Geschenke für den 3. Advent haben uns aus den Socken gehauen - und das, wo wir BiWuBärchen gar keine Socken tragen! *lach* Und besonders gerührt hat mich, dass Ilona sogar an meinen Wuff gedacht hat!

The deer head even brought an extra dose of joy for Birgit - because she already received a similar one from Ilona some time ago. Now she owns a beautiful pair to go into the Christmas House! *beams-with-joy* And the gifts for Advent 3rd knocked us out of our socks - and please keep in mind that BiWuBearies don't wear socks at all! *LOL* And I was touched the most that Ilona even thought of my Wuff!

Was für Schätze - unfassbar schöne Hyazinthen, wunderschön gerahmte Orchideenblüten und Spielzeug, das meinen kleinen Freund zum glücklichsten Hund auf der ganzen weiten Welt gemacht hat. Aber das war noch nicht alles... 

My, these are treasures for sure - incredibly beautiful hyacinths, beautiful framed orchid blossoms and toys which are turning my little frined into the most happiest dog in the whole wide world. But this wasn't all yet...

Dieses Prachtstück wird natürlich einen Ehrenplatz im Weihnachtshaus bekommen. Wo allerdings diese hier hinkommen ist noch nicht entschieden...

This gem will get a place of honor in the Christmas House. But so far it's not decided where these will go to...

This is beyond belief... so many incredibly beautiful white peonies!!! Filigree masterpieces in perfection!

In solchen Momenten bin ich immer etwas neidisch, dass meine kleine Schwester einen Magnet in der Pfote hat und ich nicht... *seufz* Aber zurück zum Wesentlichen: Ist das nicht der Hammer??? Das sind eigentlich Weihnachtsgeschenke - und so was finden wir in den Päckchen für den 3. Advent!

In moments like these I'm always a bit jealous that my little sis' has a magnet in her paw and I have none... *sigh* But back to the important things: Isn't this a true burner??? These are in fact Christmas gifts - and we're finding these in a package for Advent 3rd!

Dearest Ilona, once more from this place - thank you from the bottom of our hearts (and "our" includes for sure the silent blog reader). Words can not express our gratitude... oh... and btw... did we ever mention before that you are da*n crazy spoiling us this much??? ;O)

Aber auch von anderen Blogfreunden sind inzwischen Weihnachtsgrüße eingegangen - die aber leider noch nicht aufgemacht werden durften. Und ja... ich musste mir wieder Birgits legendären Vortrag anhören zum Thema "Alles hat seine Zeit und die Zeit für Weihnachtsgeschenke ist am Abend von Heiligabend" *stöhn*. Das hier kam von Alex...

But we've also received Christmas greetings from other blogfriends in the meantime - but sadly we were not allowed to open them yet. And yes... I had to listen once more to Birgit's legendary lecture about "Everything has its own time and the time for Christmas gifts is in the evening of Christmas Eve" *groan*. This came from Alex...

Und auch von Ricardo haben wir ein Überraschungspäckchen bekommen - und das war nicht eingepackt. Hurra! *happy-dance* Ricardo ist wirklich einer der großzügigsten und nettesten Blogger überhaupt. Nicht nur, dass er immer großzügig seine wunderbaren Bücher verlost, er hat auch jetzt zur Weihnachtszeit viele Blogger bedacht und darunter auch uns... mit einer wunderschönen Box gefüllt mit 3 Büchern und 2 bärigen Buchstützen.

And from Ricardo too we've received a surprise package - and this one wasn't wrapped. Hooray! *happy-dance* Ricardo is for sure one of the most generous and kindest bloggers around. He's always generously giving away his stunning books but now at Christmas time he spoiled many bloggers and among them us... with a beautiful box filled with 3 books and 2 beary bookends.

Wir sind alle total glücklich, aber am glücklichsten war Birgit. "A Christmas Carol" ist eines ihrer Lieblingsbücher - und es war nicht nur ein spanisches Exemplar dabei sondern auch die Box ist entsprechend dekoriert. Und neben einem Buch mit niedlichen weihnachtlichen Illustrationen fanden wir auch eine spanische Ausgabe über "Die Weiße Rose", was Birgit besonders gerührt hat. Ricardo hat nämlich kürzlich ein Buch über "Die Roten Rosen" vorgestellt, spanische Widerstandskämperinnen während der Franco-Diktatur. Und da hat Birgit ihm in einem Kommentar erzählt, dass wir hier in Deutschland in der dunklen Zeit eine studentische Widerstandsgruppe namens "Weiße Rose" hatten, deren prominenteste Mitstreiter Hans und Sophie Scholl waren... beide von den Nazis hingerichtet. Ricardo hat diesen Hinweis von Birgit zum Anlass genommen, sich mit den Scholl-Geschwistern zu beschäftigen und ein Miniaturbuch zu machen. Das wir nun auch ein Exemplar davon haben... das ist echt was Besonderes!

All of us are totally happy but the happiest among us was Birgit. "A Christmas Carol" is one of her favourite books - and there was not only a Spanish version included but the box itself is also decorated with this theme. And next to a book with cute Christmassy illustrations we also found a Spanish version about "The White Rose" which touched Birgit very much. Some time ago Ricardo introduced a book about "The Red Roses", Spanish resistance fighters during the Franco-dictatorship. And in a comment Birgit told him that here in Germany during our darkest times there was a group of students forming the resistance group "Weiße Rose" (= White Rose); their best known members were Hans and Sophie Scholl... both executed by the Nazis. Birgit's notice made Ricardo do some research about the siblings Scholl and turn the book about them into a miniature version. Receiving our own copy... that's for sure something very special!

Toll, oder? Ehrlich, es ist noch nicht Weihnachten und trotzdem ist diesen Advent schon jede Menge Augenschweiß geflossen... *schmunzel* Übrigens - der Weihnachtsmann saß früher im Schaufenster im Geschäft von Birgits Eltern. ;O)

Awesome, isn't it? Really, it's not even Christmas yet and still this Advent already caused loads of eyesweat... *smile* Btw - the Santa used to sit in the store window of the shop of Birgit's parents years ago.

So, und nach all dem haben wir uns unseren Adventssonntagsnachmittagskaffeeklatsch ja wohl mehr als verdient. Obwohl... eines gibt es noch zu tun... kein Post von uns zum 4. Advent ohne die Geschichte von den 4 Kerzen. Hier ist sie:

My, and after all of this we really earned ourselves our Adventsundayafternoon-"Kaffeeklatsch" indeed. However... there's still one thing left to do... no post from us for Advent 4th without the story of the 4 candles. Here it comes:

Die vier Kerzen (von Elsbeth Bihler)

Vier Kerzen brannten am Adventskranz. Es war ganz still. So still, dass man hörte, wie die Kerzen zu reden begannen. Die erste Kerze seufzte und sagte: "Ich heiße Frieden. Mein Licht leuchtet, aber die Menschen halten keinen Frieden, sie wollen mich nicht." Ihr Licht wurde immer kleiner und verlosch schließlich ganz.

 

Die zweite Kerze flackerte und sagte: "Ich heiße Glauben. Aber ich bin überflüssig. Die Menschen wollen von Gott nichts wissen. Es hat keinen Sinn mehr, dass ich brenne." Ein Luftzug wehte durch den Raum und die zweite Kerze war aus.

 

Leise und sehr traurig meldete sich nun die dritte Kerze zu Wort. "Ich heiße Liebe. Ich habe keine Kraft mehr zu brennen. Die Menschen stellen mich an die Seite. Sie sehen nur sich selbst und nicht die anderen, die sie liebhaben sollen." Und mit einem letzten Aufflackern war auch dieses Licht ausgelöscht.

 

Da kam ein Kind ins Zimmer. Es schaute die Kerzen an und sagte: "Aber ihr sollt doch brennen und nicht aus sein!" Und fast fing es an zu weinen. Da meldete sich auch die vierte Kerze zu Wort. Sie sagte: "Habe keine Angst! Solange ich brenne, können wir auch die anderen Kerzen wieder anzünden. Ich heiße Hoffnung." Mit einem Streichholz nahm das Kind Licht von dieser Kerze und zündete die anderen wieder an.

 

The Four Candles (written by Elsbeth Bihler, told in poor English by us)

 

Four candles were burning at the Advent wreath. All was silent. So silent that you could hear the candles beginning to talk. The first candle sighed and said: "My name is Peace. My light is shining, but the humans don't live in peace, they don't want me." Her light grew smaller until she went out.

 

The second candle was flickering and said: "My name is Faith. But I am superfluous. People don't want to hear about God anymore. There's no more reason for me to keep on burning." A breeze of air blew across the room and the second candle died.

 

Silent and very sad the third candle started to speak: "My name is Love. I have no more strength left to burn. People are pushing me aside. They only care for themselves and not about those they should love." And with a last flickering this light also faded.

 

Then a child entered the room. It was looking at the candles and said: "But you should be burning and not be faded away." And it almost started to cry. Now the fourth candle started to speak. It said: "Don't be afraid. As long as I am burning, we can lit the other candles again. My name is Hope." With a match the child took the light from this candle and lit the other candles again.

Und nun leuchten auch bei uns in Christmas Cottage alle vier Kerzen und wir werden jetzt einen schönen, gemütlichen Adventssonntagsnachmittagskaffeeklatsch genießen. Ihr wisst ja - mit ein, zwei Tässchen leckerem Adventssonntagsnachmittagskaffee und ein, zwei, drei, vier Stückchen oberleckerem Adventssonntagsnachmittagskuchen. Und bekanntermaßen können ein paar Plätzchen hier und da auch nicht schaden... *zwinker*

And now also here at Christmas Cottage all four candles are shining and we're going to enjoy now a nice and cozy Adventsundayafternoon-"Kaffeeklatsch". You know by now - with one, two cups of tasty Adventsundayafternooncoffee and with one, two, three, four pieces of yummy Adventsundayafternooncake. And it is well known that a few cookies here and there can't do any harm neither... *wink*

Genießt die letzte Zeit bis Weihnachten - und wenn Ihr Lust habt, dann sehen wir uns Heiligabend noch einmal. ;O)
