Herbstfreude / Autumn Joy

hier sind wir wieder - und der September ist auch schon da. Nein, diesmal gibt's keine Anmerkung von mir zur Frage, wie es denn möglich sein kann, dass wir uns nun schon im September wieder finden, die Tage schon verdammt kurz sind und Weihnachten schon beängstigend nah, nein, diesmal nicht... Und auch wenn wir uns kalendarisch noch im Sommer befinden, seit 1. September haben wir ja meteorologisch schon Herbst. Bei uns in Norddeutschland zeigte sich das deutlich wie selten - Ende August hatten wir eine heftige Hitzewelle - und ab 1. September *puff* von jetzt auf gleich nur noch die Hälfte an Temperatur.
… it's us again - and September is already here too. But no, this time I'm not going to wonder about the question how it could ever be possible that we're finding ourselves in September now with the days being damn short already and Christmas scarily near, no, not this time... And although it's still summer according to the calendar it's autumn since September 1st according to the meteorological seasons. Here in Northern Germany this was showing more clearly than ever - August ended with a massive heatwave - and from September 1st on *bang* we had only half of the temperatures.

 

Der Jahreszeitenwechsel zeigt sich aber auch deutlich an einer von Birgits Lieblingspflanzen... dem Sedum "Herbstfreude", dessen Rotfärbung nun von Tag zu Tag zunimmt. Jetzt im Spätsommer/Frühherbst ist diese wunderbare Pflanze eine ganz wichtige Nahrungsquelle für Bienen - und ein schöner Verweilplatz für BiWuBärchen. Ich wette, Ihr seid nicht wirklich überrascht, dass das jetzt die Einleitung war für eine weitere Episode unserer *hüstel* beliebten Reihe "Und schon wieder jede Menge Fotos von BiWuBärchen im Garten". *grins* Hier kommt Folge 93910!
The change of seasons is also showing very well in one of Birgit's favorite plants... the sedum "Autumn Joy" which is now growing more and more red from day to day. Now in late summer /early fall this wonderful plant is a very important source of nourishment for the bees - and a great place to rest for BiWuBearies. And I bet you won't be surprised that this was the introduction for yet another episode of our "cough cough* beloved series "And once more many pictures of BiWuBearies in the garden". *grin* Here's volume 93910!

Rosey und ich hatten wieder ganz viel Spaß im Garten - und unser Sprüchekalender hat diesen Monat auch den passenden Spruch dazu. Luc de Clapiers hat gesagt: "Das schönste Geschenk an den Menschen ist die Fähigkeit zur Freude."
Rosey and I had loads of fun in the garden - and our wisdom calendar is offering just the right saying for this. Luc de Clapiers said the greatest gift to mankind would be the ability to feel joy.

Das gilt auch für BiWuBärchen - wir sind gut darin, Freude zu haben... *schmunzel* Und wie Ihr gesehen habt, habe ich meiner Birgit auch diesen Monat wieder beim Umstellen ihrer zahlreichen Kalender geholfen. Ich bin ja bekanntermaßen ein Gentlebär von Kopf bis Fuß - und es ist ja auch allgemein bekannt, dass ich auch ein Gentlebär bin, der jeden einzelnen Pluspunkt im Goldenen Buch des Weihnachtsmannes dringend brauchen kann. Ja, Weihnachten ist gar nicht mehr so weit weg - und deshalb fängt Birgit nun auch langsam an, sich damit zu beschäftigen. Den Startschuss dafür haben zwei kleine Bausätze gemacht, die sich Birgit von der stillen Blogleserin zum Geburtstag gewünscht hat.
And this is also true for BiWuBearies - we're very good when it comes to feeling joy. And as you have seen I've helped my Birgit once more this month with the update of her several calendars. You know me - I'm a gentlebeary from top to toe. And it's also well known that I'm a gentlebeary who is always in need of every single good point in the Golden Book of Santa. Yes, Christmas is not that far away anymore - and that's why Birgit is slowly starting to prepare for it. The launch was marked by two small kits which Birgit received from the silent blog reader for her birthday.

Diese Bausätze der Firma Noch sind für einen Weihnachtsmarkt im Maßstab HO bzw. 1:87 gedacht - werden sich nun aber auf einem ganz bestimmten Weihnachtsmarkt in 1:12 wieder finden. Normalerweise wird im Modellbahnbau ja mit Plastik gearbeitet - aber diese Bausätze sind aus Holz! Klasse! Das hier ist die Weihnachtspyramide (natürlich beweglich)…
These kits by the company Noch are meant for a Christmas market in scale HO (1:87) - but are now dedicated to go to a certain Christmas market in 1:12. Usually the material used in the model train buildings is plastic - but these kits are made of wood! Great! This is the Christmas pyramid (of course movable)…

Und wo wir nun schon einmal das Weihnachtsthema haben... *grins* Naja, ich hatte Euch ja schon im letzten Post erzählt, das Birgit nun mit der Arbeit am Weihnachtshaus beginnt. Zur Erinnerung - das Weihnachts"haus" ist eigentlich kein Haus im eigentlichen Sinne, sondern besteht aus 3 großen Roomboxes mit 6 Räumen.
And while we're already talking about Christmas... *grin* Well, in our last post I had already told you that Birgit is now starting with work on the Christmas House. You may remember - the Christmas "House" is not a house in the common sense because it consists of 3 big room boxes with 6 rooms.

Und was glaubt Ihr wohl, was Birgit als Erstes gemacht hat? Möbel für die Küche! Und während Ihr Euch jetzt vielleicht schon mal vorstellt, wie so eine Weihnachtsküche wohl aussehen könnte, zeige ich Euch ein Archivfoto. Birgit hat nämlich eine alte Roombox geplündert, die noch aus ihren Anfängen stammt - und die ihr nie sonderlich gefallen hat. Warum kann man leicht sehen...
Would you guess with what Birgit has started? With the kitchen furniture! And while you might start to imagine how such a Christmas kitchen could look like I'm going to show you a photo from our archives. You must know that Birgit plundered an old room box which she had made a long time ago - and which she never liked very much. It's easy to see why...

Das Ganze ist langweilig und fad. Damals hat Birgit sich noch nicht getraut, die Möbel einfach anzupinseln - und Wand und Boden bringen auch nicht gerade Pep hinein. Aber inzwischen hat meine Birgit ja jegliche Hemmungen verloren, wenn es um's Pinsel-Schwingen geht - und das ist auch notwendig, denn die Schränke sind mit der Zeit ganz schön nachgedunkelt. Man sieht deutlich, wo vorher etwas gestanden hat.
The whole thing is dull and boring. Back then Birgit did not have yet the courage to paint furniture - and ceiling and floor are not supportive for adding any interest. But meanwhile my Birgit has of course lost all scruples when it comes to waving her brushes - and this was in fact necessary because the wood is now a lot darker than it was. You can spot very well where things had been decorated.

Und - habt Ihr Euch unsere Weihnachtsküche in einem so frischen Look vorgestellt? *lach* Auch die übrigen Küchenmöbel kommen in weiß und rot-metallic daher...
And - did you expect our Christmas kitchen to come along in such a fresh look? *LOL* And the other pieces of furniture of this kitchen also got a finish in white and metallic red...

… also, ich bin jetzt schon gespannt, wie das alles weiter gehen wird. *grins*
… well, I'm already curious how all of this will continue now. *grin*
