 Hallo,

wir sind's - und wir sind echt erstaunt, wie weit das Jahr schon wieder fortgeschritten ist. Februar!!! *schluck* Wo bitte ist der Januar geblieben??? Höchste Zeit, dass wir Euch zeigen, was Birgit von der stillen Blogleserin zu Weihnachten bekommen hat. Vorweg aber eine Frage: Kennt Ihr das auch? Ihr seht etwas zum Basteln, was Euch gefällt, und denkt Euch "Toll... das krieg ich hin, da kann ich was draus machen" - und unmittelbar nach dem Kauf stellt Ihr Euch die Frage "Was habe ich mir bloß dabei gedacht???"

... it's us - and we are really amazed how many days have already passed in this year.  February!!! *gulp* What ever happened to January??? Well, it's really time that we're going to show you what Birgit got from the silent blogreader for Christmas. But in advance a question: Do you know this too? You spot some craft stuff which you like and you start thinking "Wow... I can do that, I can turn this into something" - and right after buying it you find yourself facing the question "OMG, what was I thinking???"

So ähnlich ging es unserer Birgit... allerdings mit der Variante, dass sie in ihrer Begeisterung der stillen Blogleserin davon erzählt hat und diese sofort sagte "Super - schenke ich Dir zu Weihnachten!" Und so hat Birgit also zu Weihnachten ein paar besondere Miniaturen-Bastelsets geschenkt bekommen - und sich wirklich unmittelbar nach dem Auspacken die Frage gestellt: "Was habe ich mir bloß dabei gedacht????" Nun, zum Teil lässt sich die Frage immerhin beantworten, wenn man weiß, worum es eigentlich geht. *grins* Also, insbesondere um dieses Bastelset für eine komplette Krippenszene von Nalladris.

Somehow this is what happened to our Birgit... but with the variation that she shared her excitement with the silent blogreader who said immediately "Great - I'm going to give this to you for Christmas!" And so Birgit received for Christmas some special miniature kits - and was facing right away after unwrapping them the question: "OMG, what was I thinking????" Well, partly this question can be answered if one knows about the thing we're talking all the time. *grin* Well, it's mostly about this kit for a complete nativity scene by Nalladris.

Es versteht sich von selbst, dass Birgit davon begeistert war, weil diese Krippe einfach perfekt für das Weihnachtshaus-Projekt wäre. Aber das war die Theorie... und in der erscheint es nicht weiter schlimm, winzigste Teile anzumalen, nein, wirklich nicht... Aber dann kommt die Realität mit breitem Grinsen um die Ecke und man starrt auf winzigste Teile, die es zu bemalen gilt und fragt sich... genau, Ihr wisst ja inzwischen Bescheid: "Was habe ich mir bloß dabei gedacht?????"

Needless to mention that Birgit was over the moon with this because the nativity would be just perfect for the Christmas House project. But that was in theory... where it doesn't seem to be difficult painting teenytiny pieces, no, never at all... But then reality comes around the corner showing a broad grin and you find yourself staring at teenytiny pieces which need to be painted and you start asking yourself... well, you know it by now: "OMG, what was I thinking?????"

Glaubt mir... wenn man diese aus dem 3D-Drucker stammenden Teile aus der Packung nimmt, erkennt man so gut wie gar nichts. Das wird aber sofort besser, sobald man ein wenig Gesso aufgetragen hat - was Birgit hier bereits getan hat.

Take my word... when taking these pieces made by a 3D printer out of the package you can hardly discover anything at all. But this gets better as soon as a bit of gesso is painted on - which Birgit had already done here.

Allerdings hat sich Birgit danach wieder gefragt "Was habe ich mir bloß dabei gedacht??????" Und um diese Frage nicht sofort beantworten zu müssen, hat sie erst einmal mit dem Tisch für die Szene angefangen und dann mit dem Stall und den Landschaftselementen weiter gemacht.

However after this was done Birgit asked herself once more "OMG, what was I thinking??????" And to avoid having to answer this question she started to make the table for the scene and continued with the stable and the landscape elements.

Danach noch etwas Schnee...

Nein, natürlich nicht... *lach* Da kann Bing Crosby noch so sehr von der weißen Weihnacht träumen, unserer bescheidenen Meinung nach ist die Wahrscheinlichkeit, dass es bei Jesu Geburt in Bethlehem dick eingeschneit war, äußerst gering... aber ein wenig Strukturpaste ist schließlich immer hilfreich beim Kreieren von Landschaften. Und während die trocknet, hat Birgit sich endlich an die Mitwirkenden gewagt - und das ist dabei heraus gekommen.

No, of course not... *LOL* Let Bing Crosby dream about a White Christmas but according to our modest opinion the possibility that Bethlehem was all snowed white when Jesus was born is very little... but a bit of structure paste is always helpful when creating landscapes. And while this was drying Birgit finally dared to start with the contributors - and this is the result.

Hat jemand eine Idee, welches Kamel zu welchem König gehören könnte? *kicher* Am Ende sieht der ganze Bausatz in der Birgit-Version jedenfalls so aus:

Und damit haben wir dann auch die endgültige Antwort auf die Frage "Was habe ich mir bloß dabei gedacht???????" - und die lautet eben: Birgit wollte eine ganz besondere Krippe mit ganz viel Birgit-Touch für das Weihnachtshaus haben. *schmunzel* 

And with this we finally have the answer to the question "OMG, what was I thinking???????" - and it goes like this: Birgit wanted to have a special nativitiy for the Christmas House with plenty of Birgit touch. *smile*

Aber damit nicht genug... Birgit bekam von der stillen Blogleserin auch Rohlinge für Nußknacker  (von Artofmini) und ein Räuchermännchen geschenkt (ebenfalls von Nalladris). Seht mal - einer davon ist sogar ein Kaffeeklatsch-Nußknacker!

But this isn't all yet... Birgit also received resins of nutcrackers (by Artofmini) and a smoker (also from Nalladris) from the silent blogreader. Have a look - one of them is even a "Kaffeeklatsch"-nutcracker!

Birgit ist sich aber noch nicht so ganz sicher wegen der Farben und will noch ein wenig abwarten, bis sie entschieden hat, wo die Nußknacker zukünftig stehen werden. Für einen von ihnen sowie für das Räuchermännchen ist die Entscheidung aber schon gefallen und der Anfang wurde bereits gemacht (ein bisschen fehlt noch zur Vollendung).

But Birgit isn't yet sure about the colours and will wait a little longer until she knows the final place for these nutcrackers. But for one of them as well for the smoker the decision was already made and so she made a start (they still need some finishing touches).

Beim Nußknacker hat sich Birgit übrigens von dem Miniatur-Nußknacker inspirieren lassen, den sie zum vorigen Weihnachten von der stillen Blogleserin bekommen hat. 

Btw Birgit took the inspiration for the nutcracker from the miniature nutcracker she received from the silent blogreader for Christmas in 2019.

Schon praktisch für unsere Oma, dass sie Birgit immer was für ihre Projekte schenken kann. *schmunzel* Und Birgit beschenkt sich sozusagen auch schon mal selbst, denn ehrlich... wenn man schon eine Bestellung aufgibt - wie in diesem Fall bei Nalladris - dann kann man ja gleich noch etwas mitbestellen und Porto sparen. Das waren in Birgits Fall Rohlinge für Teekannen. Sun Lemmens, der kreative Kopf von Nalladris, hat nämlich ein ganzes Teekannen-ABC aufgelegt und einige davon waren einfach perfekt für Birgits Projekte, schaut mal:

Our Granny is somehow lucky that she's always able to give Birgit gifts for her projects. *smile* And sometimes Birgit is giving gifts to herself too, because honestly... if you're already placing an order - in this case at Nalladris - it's just clever to order other pieces at the same time and save money for postage. In Birgit's case these were resins for tea pots. Sun Lemmens, the creative mind of Nalladris, designed a complete ABC presented by teapots and some of them were just perfect for Birgit's projects, have a look:

Wie Ihr seht, hat Birgit auch ihren Blogbärchen eine große Freude gemacht. Und wir machen jetzt ein kleines Rätsel - findet Ihr den Fehler im folgenden Bild? 

As you can see Birgit did not forget to bring some joy to her blogbearies. And now we're offering a little riddle  - are you able to find the mistake in the following picture?

Hoffentlich war das jetzt nicht zu schwer *kicher* - hier kommt für alle Fälle die Auflösung... *grins*

Let's hope this wasn't too hard *giggle* - but just in case here's the solution... *grin*

So ist es richtig! *schmunzel* Cupcake und Tannenbaum gehen selbstverständlich ins Weihnachtshaus - und der Oktopus ist natürlich wie gemacht für das Bärchenhaus.

This way it's right! *smile* Cupcake and Christmas tree will of course find places in the Christmas House - and the octopus is just perfect for the Beary House.

Und weil Birgit schon mal die Pinsel zur Hand hatte, hat sie auch gleich noch eine ganz simple Plastik-Teekanne aus ihren Irgendwann-für-Irgendwas-Kisten bemalt, damit sich die Oktopuskanne im Bärchenhaus nicht so einsam fühlt, hat sie gemeint. Vorher:

And because Birgit already had her brushes at hand she also painted a simple plastic tea pot found in her Sometime-for-Somewhat-boxes to make sure the octopus pot will not feel lonesome in the Beary House, that's what she said. Before:

Und nachher - nicht unbedingt überraschend, wenn man bedenkt, dass wir es hier mit Birgit zu tun haben.

And after - not very surprising regarding the fact that we're dealing with Birgit here.

Scheint Verwandtschaft von Madame Pottine zu sein. *lach* Und bevor wir für heute auf Wiedersehen sagen, beweise ich Euch noch ganz schnell, dass ich natürlich auch im Februar nicht aufgehört habe, der Gentlebär zu sein, der ich nun mal bin. Selbstverständlich habe ich wie an jedem Monatsanfang meiner Birgit mit der Umstellung ihrer zahlreichen Kalender geholfen! Es gibt mir aber sehr zu denken, dass meine kleine Schwester auch wieder zum Helfen zur Stelle war... ich bin wohl nicht der Einzigste hier, der ein paar leicht verdiente Pluspunkte im Goldenen Buch des Weihnachtsmannes gebrauchen kann. *grins* Für den Februar zeigt unser Sprüchekalender ein schönes Bild (hach... grün... so schön... uns hier hat derzeit der Winter nämlich so richtig im Griff, es ist eiskalt und draußen liegt dieses kalte, weiße Zeug...) und einen Spruch von Andreas Tenzer: "Das große Glück ist die Summer kleiner Freuden."

We assume it to be a relative of Mrs Potts. *LOL* And before we're saying goodbye for today I need to give you a quick proof that of course I did not stop in February to be the gentlebeary that I am. Of course I've helped my Birgit once more at the month's beginning with the update of her several calendars! But it makes me wonder that my little sis' was once more here too to help... seems I'm not the only one round here who is in need of some easily gained good points in Santa's Golden Book. *grin* For February our wisdom calendar shows a nice photo (*sigh*... green... so lovely... around here winter is reigning, it's icecold and outside we're having this cold, white stuff...) and a saying by Andreas Tenzer who said the big joy would be the sum of small pleasures.

Da können wir nur zustimmen - dieser Post zum Beispiel war ja auch voll mit kleinen Freuden, die Birgit in Summe sehr glücklich gemacht haben (obwohl sie sich zwischendurch mehrmals fragen musste "Was habe ich mir bloß dabei gedacht????????" *hihi*) Wir wünschen Euch für den Februar viele kleine Freuden und vor allem Gesundheit!

We can only agree with him - this post was for example filled with small pleasures which in sum made Birgit very happy (although in the meantime she had to ask herself several times "OMG, what was I thinking????????" *teehee*) We're wishing to all of you a February filled with many small pleasures and above all health!
