Zurück zum Bärchenhaus / Back to the Beary House

 Hallo,

und da haben wir schon wieder März - höchste Zeit, dass wir uns hier mal wieder melden. Und wenn ich jetzt so darüber nachdenke... schon der 3. Monat in 2021 und es gab noch keinen Beitrag unserer *hüstel* beliebten Reihe "Und schon wieder jede Menge Fotos von BiWuBärchen im Garten"! *lach* Auch das müssen wir dringend ändern - vor allem wird es aber Zeit, dass endlich mal wieder am Bärchenhaus gearbeitet wird! Genauer gesagt am Dach des Bärchenhauses - und das Erste, was wir dazu benötigen, ist ein Sticker. Und zwar so einen:

... and now it's already March - and really time for us to appear on our blog again. And as I'm reflecting this now it occurs to me that it's also already the 3rd month in 2021 and so far we did not even have a contribution to our *ehem* beloved series "And once more many pictures of BiWuBearies in the garden"! *LOL* Another thing we really need to change - but most of all it's time to finally go to work again at the Beary House! To be more exact we're heading to the Beary House's roof - and the first thing we need is a sticker. One of this kind:

Der wurde bereits auf starke Plastikfolie geklebt und mit blauen Permanentmarkern bemalt. Das Praktische an diesen Stickern ist, dass sie auf der Klebeseite silbern sind - perfekt für das, was Birgit damit plant.

This was already attached to a solid plastic foil and was painted with blue permanent markers. The good thing about these stickers it that they are silver at their back - perfect for what Birgit is planning with them.

Aber erst einmal ein bisschen Auffrischung für Eure Erinnerung - denn es ist ja schon eine Weile her, dass das Bärchenhaus hier zu sehen war. Das war der Grund für die Renovierung...

But first of all we should better give your memory a little update - because it's been quite a while ago when the Beary House was shown here. This was the reason for the makeover... 

... und das war in der Zwischenzeit aus der Fassade geworden:

Eine Seitenwand ist auch schon komplett fertig, die andere in Arbeit. 

One sidewall was also completed, the other one still in progress.

Es fehlte aber noch die Gaube...

But the gabled dormer was missing still...

... also hat Birgit auch hier ihre "Ziegel" (aus Holzstücken) angebracht und den Fensterrahmen in dem gleichen Blau gestrichen, das auch für die übrigen Fenster verwendet wurde. 

... so Birgit attached once more her "bricks" (made of wood sticks) and painted the window frame in the same blue she had already used for the other windows.

Aber damit nicht genug, denn auch die Schindeln auf den Dächern (also inklusive des Verandadaches) sahen recht schäbig aus und brauchten einen neuen Look. Also hat Birgit ihre Pinsel erneut rausgeholt:

But this wasn't all yet because the shingles on the roofs (including the porch roof) looked somehow shabby and needed a new look. So Birgit took her brushes once more:

Wie Ihr seht sind zum neuen Farbanstrich für die Schindeln noch ein Paar Leisten, ein Muschelornament und der schon vorgestellte Sticker dazu gekommen.

As you can see here next to the new coat of paint for the shingles she also added a pair of wooden strips, a shell ornament and the sticker we already introduced you to.

Jetzt fehlt außen nur noch der Rest von der zweiten Seitenwand. Und weil das wieder mit jeder Menge "Ziegel" verlegen verbunden ist, hat Birgit sich erst einmal mit einem anderen Problemfeld beschäftigt: Der Küche! Auch hier erst mal wieder ein Erinnerungsfoto von der alten Küche:

Now the only thing missing still on the outside is the second side wall. And because this means gluing once more many, many "bricks" Birgit decided to concentrate on another problem first: The kitchen! Again we're showing a photo of the old kitchen for your memory first:

Bisher hatte Birgit nur dem Schrank und einem Beistelltisch einen neuen Look verpasst:

So far Birgit had only given a new look to the cupboard and a side table:

Das war einfach... der Rest aber nicht. Ihr glaubt nicht, wie lange Birgit überlegt, getestet und wieder überlegt hat, wie sei am Besten vorgehen soll. Wie sollen Boden und Wände gestaltet werden? Welche Farben passen am Besten? Und der absolute Härtefall: Die alten Küchenmöbel aus Plastik.

This was easy... but the rest wasn't. You would not believe how long Birgit was thinking this over, made tests and reflected again which way might be the best. How to decorate the floor and the walls? Which colours would be the best? And the hardest issue of all: The old kitchen furniture made of plastic.

Dabei handelt es sich um ein Komplettset, das insgesamt natürlich sehr einfach und billig rüberkommt (und auch gar nicht so weiß ist, wie man erwarten würde - einige Teile haben einen leichten Rosa- oder Mauve-Stich), das andererseits aber durch seine überraschend naturgetreuen Küchengeräte besticht.

This was a complete set which of course appears to be very simple and cheap (and btw isn't as white as one would suppose it to be - some pieces have a tendency to a touch of pink or mauve) but on the other hand comes along with surprisingly realistic kitchen appliances.

Hoffentlich habt Ihr Euch die Waschmaschine gut angeschaut - die werdet Ihr im Bärchenhaus nämlich nicht wiedersehen. *lach* Und auch bei den anderen Teilen hat Birgit lange überlegt, ob sie die verwenden oder doch lieber in etwas Neues investieren soll. Aber Birgit hat sich schließlich entschieden, ihrem Vorsatz treu zu bleiben, die Renovierung möglichst ohne Neukäufe durchzuführen. Was also tun... Bemalen oder Bekleben gestaltet sich hier sehr schwierig. So vielleicht?

We hope you've had a good look at the washing machine - because you won't see it again in the Beary House. *LOL* And with the other pieces too Birgit thought a long time whether to use them or to invest into something new. But finally Birgit decided to keep up with her intention to realize the makeover without buying something new whenever possible. So what to do... Painting or covering appeared to be very difficult here. Perhaps like this?

Immerhin sähe das Hochregal damit etwas maritim aus... genau so lange, bis man es füllt. *grins* Und die silbernen Griffe sind nun auch nicht der Bringer... So gesehen vielleicht ganz gut, dass Birgit sich im Laufe der Küchenrenovierung auch von den Hochschränken verabschiedet hat. *kicher* Blieb also nur noch die untere Küchenzeile - und nachdem Birgit sich nach langem Suchen und Probieren für eine Gestaltung der Wände und des Bodens entschieden hatte, fiel endlich auch die Entscheidung in Sachen Küchenmöbel.

At least this upper cabinet would look somehow maritime... well, as long as one would start to fill it. *grin* And the silver handles are far away from being a game changer... Regarding this it might not be that bad at all that during the kitchen makeover Birgit said goodbye to the upper cabinets. *giggle* So there was only this left - and after a long time of searching and trying Birgit finally decided what to do with the walls and the floor and then she was finally able to decide about the kitchen furniture too.

Wenig spektakulär... aber sie stehen ja hinten an der Wand und zusammen mit dem übrigen Look der Küche wird das hoffentlich so gehen - wovon Ihr Euch dann demnächst überzeugen könnt. Heute zeigen wir Euch noch schnell, wie der Küchentisch inzwischen aussieht, nachdem die Tischplatte abgeschliffen und lasiert wurde und die Schubladen neue Griffe bekommen haben.

Not spectacular at all... but as their place will be the back wall and together with the whole look of the kitchen they hopefully will do - you will be able to decide about this on your own soon. For today we still want to show you how the kitchen table looks now after the top was sanded and dyed and new handles were attached to the drawers.

Außerdem wurden die Küchenstühle hinten gekürzt, was Ihr mir einfach mal glauben müsst, weil wir das Vorher-Foto vergessen haben. Obwohl - Ihr könntet Euch die Stühle in ihrer ursprünglichen Form ja auf dem vorher gezeigten Bild der alten Küche anschauen. Eine derart hohe Rückenlehne wäre allenfalls für Dirk Nowitzki praktisch gewesen... jedenfalls sehen die Stühle jetzt so aus: 

The next thing was making the back of the kitchen chairs shorter which you need to just believe me because we forgot to take a before-photo. However - you could have a look at the original chairs at the picture of the old kitchen we've shown above. Such a high backrest would only be comfortable for Dirk Nowitzki... anyhow, the chairs look like this now:

Und damit genug vom Bärchenhaus und Problemen in der Küche für heute - hier ist wie angedroht (*grins*) Folge 93919 von "Und schon wieder jede Menge Bilder von BiWuBärchen im Garten".

And that's enough about the Beary House and problems in the kitchen for today - here is as threatened (*grin*) volume 93919 of "And once more many pictures of BiWuBearies in the garden".

Unsere rote Christ- bzw. Lenzrose blüht so prächtig, dass wir Euch unbedingt noch mal eine Nahaufnahme zeigen müssen:

Our red helleborus aka lenten rose is so beautifully in bloom that we really need to show a close-up too.

Im Moment das Einzigste, was im Garten blüht und sich "Rose" nennen darf. *schmunzel* Trotzdem kommt unser Sprüchekalender in diesem Monat mit einem Bild daher, das vielleicht nicht unbedingt zum März passt, andererseits aber zu jeder Zeit wunderschön ist und diesmal eine Weisheit aus England zeigt: "Tagträumen ist nicht verlorene Zeit, sondern Auftanken der Seele".

At this time the only garden plant in bloom which may refer to itself  as "rose". *smile* Nevertheless our wisdom calendar is coming along in this month with a picture that doesn't somehow belong to March; but on the other hand it's beautiful at any time and this time it brings us a wisdom from England, they say daydreaming would not mean lost time, it was for refueling the soul. (We hope we've used "refuel" right here to express the meaning well as in German "auftanken" = "refuel" has a double meaning for filling petrol into your car but also for regaining mental or physical strength)

Wir finden, das könnte man genau so gut über ein kreatives Hobby wie Eures sagen. In diesem Sinne: Viel Spaß beim Auftanken Eurer Seele - und noch einen schönen März!

According to us this could also be said about a creative hobby like yours. So regarding this: Enjoy refueling your soul - and have a wonderful March!
