Es war einmal... ein BiWuBären-Weihnachtsmärchen

Hallo,

... tomorow the day has finally come - Chrismas Eve! Lights shining bright, Christmas meals, gifts, family... whatever it is that makes Christmas special to you... we would like to make it even more special to you today. Honestly speaking -  a beary Christmas tree about to read a story from a fairytale book isn't a sight you could find on every street corner, right? *LOL* Yes, I somehow live two lives - for 11 months I simply am Chris Kringle but during December I'm wearing my Christmas tree costume. And I am really glad that I shall read a very special "Once upon a time..."-story to you aloud now. Let's go...

Once upon a time... in a living room far far away and yet quite near to us there stood a small cozy cottage and inside there lived happily and content Flutterby, the flutterybeary. And because it was December and Christmas almost there his cottage was already fully decorated for Christmas. One Day - Christmas Eve was in only two more days - Flutterby was sitting comfy in his chair enjoying some cookies and a mug of coffee and was just thinking about how thankful he was for having a lovely home like this and about going to the BiWuBear Christmas Market later on to meet with his friends... when there was a knock at his door. "Oh, great" Flutterby was thinking. "Visitors! Who can it be?" He opened the door - and couldn't hardly believe his own eyes...

Nun war Flutterby, was ungewöhnlichen Besuch anging. ja allerhand gewohnt... Flutterby nickte. "Aber natürlich... "
Well, when it comes to unusual visitors Flutterby had made quite some experiences... dragons in the garden, unknown witches in the living room... all of this he experienced bearsonally so far. But even Flutterby was shocked to meet this visitor in front of his own entrance. "That can't be true" he thought. "A reindeer! A reindeer in front of my door!" The flutterybeary was still too bewildered to mutter just one single word - when suddenluy the reindeer was speaking: "How do you do, Flutterby!" And even if you wouldn't have expected this to be possible at all - but now Flutterby was even more bewildered than before and he corrected himself in his thoughts: "That can't be true - a TALKING reindeer in front of my door!" But then he found back his words and said: "Hello! Can I help you?" The reindeer answered: "Well, I hops so... may I come in?" Flutterby nodded. "For sure..."

And so the reindeer entered his cottage and looked around with interest. "Your house looks very lovely. But I think I should better introduce myself first. I am Dasher! Maybe you've heard of me somehow before..." The reindeer was grinning broadly and Flutterby's eyes were wide open now. "Dasher? But not that Dasher?" The reindeer was smiling. "Sure, exactly this Dasher. I am one of the reindeers pulling Santa's sleigh. Honestly speaking, without our help Santa would never be able to manage all of this at Christmas. But that's exactly the problem... and the reason why I came to see you." Flutterby was amazed. "So... you need my help? Really?" Dasher nodded. "Yes, indeed, your help... that's why Santa sent me to you. I must tell you he had no other alternative left because in the meantime I've been the only one at the North Pole that was still standing, although my throat is already sore, too..."

Flutterby konnte kaum glauben, was er da hörte.
Flutterby began to understand. "So this means all the others are sick?" - "Really sick... all the reindeers have a bad cold. It's all Rudolph's fault, he infected all the others... because he's always having this red nose noone noticed he had a cold... and now it's too late." Flutterby could hardly believe what he heard. "But... if all the reindeers have a cold... how shall Santa come to the children?" Dasher looked at him sadly. "See, that's exactly the problem. If there won't be a miracle then there will be no Christmas this year." Flutterby was shocked: "No, no... no way! That shall not happen! I will do anything I can... but how can I help you with that?" - "We need your contatcts to the Witch Tower, Flutterby." The flutterybeary beamed with joy as if someone had switched on a light. "But for sure... yes, Oberon's magical healing powers... that's a great idea. I'm going to talk with Magica de Spell at once... they're all at the Christmas Market now... but before I leave I still have an idea... wait a minute..."

Flutterby went to his shelf and looked into the drawers. "Ah, here it is!" he suddenly shouted. Dasher watched with interest as the flutterybeary was bringing a scarf to light. "Rosey forgot this one some days ago... and now you will get it to make sure your cold won't get worse."

And he wrapped the scarf around the reindeer's neck and Dasher truly enjoyed the warm scarf. Afterwards Flutterby tried to get some more space and put some carrots on a dish. "For you" he said. "A little healthy snack. And I am running now to the Christmas Market to inform Magica and the others. You just stay here... if one of Santa's reindeers would visit our Christmas Market it might get a riot."

Flutterby ran as fast as he could to the BiWuBear Christmas Market and directly to the sales cart of his magical friends. "Hi, Fluby" said Magica de Spell when spotting him. "But what's the matter with you?" And Arthud Skullington was asking: "Did you meet a bad ghost?" Borthud Skullington joined them and asked: "What's wrong, Fluby? Can we help you somehow?" And now the words just kept flowing out of Flutterby's mouth... and while he was talking and telling he noticed that the faces of the magical bearies became more and more serious.

Magica seufzte. "Wäre es... wenn er denn da wäre." Flutterby wurde heiß und kalt zugleich. "Was???"
"Yes" Flutterby ended his tale. "And now they urgently need Oberon's help at the Norh Pole. But why are you all looking like this... for Oberon that's some easy-going, isn't it?!" Magica sighed. "Would be... if he was around." Flutterby felt warm and cold at the same time. "What???" Arthud sadly shook his head. "Oberon and the Unicorns of the Rainbow are in South America at the moment... they need rainbows there, too. And until we would manage to contact him..." - "... Christmas woud already be over." ended Maginca gloomily. Flutterby noticed a nausea rising. "But... but what shall we do now? We can't allow Christmas to be canceled!" Borthud shrugged his shoulders. "Well... at least Halloween was great..."

But seeing Flutterby's horrified face he started to laugh and the other two were joining in. "Don't worry, Fluby... we still have an ace in our sleeve. When it comes to reindeer colds you still have other possibilites than a magical unicorn..." His brother went on: "A herbal witch with several centuries of job experience might be helpful here, too." The Skullington brothers grinned and Flutterby began to understand. "Gertie? Gertie Gumthrop? You say she really has a medicine against reindeer cold?" Magica smiled. "And so much more... we in the magical world don't know anything about colds and flu. And luckily Santa Claus also belongs to the magical world, so we're able to help him." Borthud nodded. "And we're also lucky to have Gertie already at our home because we didn't want her to spend the holidays in the Magicians Retirement Home. Just take Dasher to the New Witch Tower and we will contact the Magical Mirror in the meantime - this way Gertie can start right away to brew the medicine." Flutterby beamed with joy. "Oh, thanks to all of you... thank you very much! Maybe all will turn out well in the end now!"

And he hurried home and told Dasher what the magical bearies had told him. "Now we have to walk to the New Witch Tower fast to get the medicine." he ended his report. Dasher laughed. "But wy should we walk, Fluby? Flying is much faster... or did you forget who I am?" And so it happened that Flutterby found himself on the back of one of Santa's official reindeers and flew with him over the sky in a flash of light. A moment to remember...

... but gone much too fast, because they already landed at the New Witch Tower and entered the witch's kitchen where they were awaited by Gertie Gumthrop and Vincent, the house elf. "Now your finally here, dearies" Gertie was welcoming them. "Good to see you again, Fluby! And it's a pleasure to meet you, Dasher!" At first Dasher was shocked seeing all those strange things in the kitchen... there was even a frog in a flood of blood on a cutting board! But the warmth of the old witch swept away all worries. "I'm glad getting to know all of you. Thank you so much for helping us." Gertie didn't want to hear about this. "Well, it's only natural for us in the magical world to help each other. This mixture must only boil once more and then it's ready... this will work for sure... and fast. Don't forget to stir, Vincent." - "I do!" he replied and that was right, sweat was shimmering at his forehead.

And then the medicine for the reindeers was done and Gertie pulled it into a jar. She gave exact instructions to Dasher how and in which dosage the medicine should be taken. "With this your colleagues will recover immediately... just trust me." Gertie said when she was done.

Flutterby tied the jar with a strong knot around the neck of the reindeer and hugged him for goodbye. "My best wishes to you, Dasher! It was a pleasure getting to know you - and I'm keeping my paws crossed that all of you will recover just in time." Dasher winked at him. "All will turn out well. Thank you so much for your help, Flutterby! Thanks to all of you... and I'm going to tell Santa what you have done for us. Merry Christmas to all of you!" Flutterby, Gertie and Vincent shouted in one voice: "Merry Christmas!" while Dasher pranced out of the Witch Tower, lifted up in the air and wasn't visible anymore one moment later. Flutterby looked after him, but then Gertie laid an arm around him saying "You've been a very good boy, Fluby. But now come in, after all this excitement you deserve a good cup of tea."

When Flutterby returned from the Witch tower where he's been spoiled with tea and cookies ("baked like the human beings do, trust me... there are no spider and toad ingredients involved"), he had to reflect upon today's adventure for long. It all appeared as if it was only a dream to him...

The next morning... one day before Christmas Eve - it was knocking once more at Fluby's door. He ran to the door and opened it... but there was noone! But the dish with cookies and carrots he had placed there for Santa's visit was empty instead and a big parcel was placed in front of his door with a tag on it saying "For Fluby"... and from far far away Flutterby's sharp ears were able to hear the silent, gentle sound of silver bells...

Flutterby carried the parcel inside his cottage and opened it with trembling paws. Inside he found Rosey's scarf (cleaned and ironed) and a huge, yummy strawberry cake. And a card on which was written: "Dear Fluby, thank you very much for your help. Included the scarf back to you with thanks (Dasher and the other reindeers have fully recovered) and a little "Thank you" from all of us! Hugs and see you tomorrow!
Santa Claus"

Flutterby noticed floods of eyesweat rising. This was so nice... everything turned well in the end. Christmas was saved and he had helped to make that possible! And Flutterby thought by himself: "Well now - Merry Christmas!"

* ENDE / THE END *

*lach*
Well, that's still too early... it's not Christmas yet. But what a relief Santa will be able to start his sleigh and his reindeers will carry him to all the children who are awaiting him impatiently. *wink* We hope you've liked our Christmas fairytale... but we're not going to wish you Merry Christmas now - because that's the boss's business, our blogbeary will do this bearsonally tomorrow! *LOL*

Liebe Grüße / Hugs

Kaffeeklatsch (Nr. 182)

Hallo,

... I'm so glad that I am the one to host the "Kaffeeklatsch" today at Advent 4th - this way we finally can get to know each other! *smile* Yes, I had to wait until today to have my turn at the blog - Lady Doreen de Winter is my name and I am the newest Snow Lady made by Birgit as a gift for this year's Advent time for her parents. And in case you might be curious what im looking like in toto then you should have a look at our sideblog, the Homepage of the BiWuBears.  Btw you would meet another new member of the BiWuBear family there... ;O)

*zwinker*
Until now we've had a lovely time of Advent - but somehow time seems to run extremely fast these days... At least that's what they say around here, I myself am not long enough a part of this world to be able to recognize this. *giggle* But now Advent 4th is here and in two days it's Christmas Eve... and so we decided to tell you once more the story of the four candles like we did last year - although most of you might know it already - but that doesn't stop that story from being lovely, does it? *wink*

The Four Candles (written by Elsbeth Bihler, told in our own poor English by us)

Four candles were burning at the advent wreath. All was silent. So silent that you could hear the candles beginning to talk. The first candle sighed and said: "My name is Peace. My light is shining, but the humans don't live in peace, they don't want me." Her light grew smaller until she went out.

The second candle was flickering and said: "My name is Faith. But I am superfluous. People don't want to hear about God anymore. There's no more reason for me to keep on burning." A breeze of air blew across the room and the second candle died.

Silent and very sad the third candle started to speak: "My name is Love. I have no more strenght left to burn. People are pushing me aside. They only care for themselves and not about those they should love." And with a last flickering this light also faded.

Then a child entered the room. It was looking at the candles and said: "But you should be burning and not be faded away." And it nearly started crying. Now the fourth candle started to speak. She said: "Don't be afraid. As long as I am burning, we can lit the other candles again. My name is Hope." With a match the child took the light from this candle and lit the other lights again.

Btw Fluby has asked me if I would agree to show some more gifts here at the "Kaffeeklatsch" we received in the meantime... My, what a silly question - for sure! We start with a surprise packet we got from Monika...

... and a little gingerbread house being sweet in any way from Silke...

... Christmas greetings from Margriet and Anne (one of the cards was sent by Silke)...

... und einem Geschenk von Ulrike...
... and a gift from Ulrike...

... and a surprise mail sent by dear Tatiana. To Fluby's big relief it wasn't wrapped. Finally he could enjoy something immediately... and what a joy this was, have a look:

So many gorgeous pieces given to us by Tatiana who is as talented as nice. And we just have to show some of the handmade items a little closer - just look at this supercute snowman...

... und diese unfassbaren Blumentöpfe und die Geldbörsen. Einfach nur toll!
... and these incredible flower pots and purses. Simply breathtaking!

Dearies, to all of you once more a heartwarm "Thank you" from all of us!

And when later on all four candles are burning at the Advent wreath then you should simply enjoy... that there's still peace, faith, love and hope in the world... and dear, gentle people... and that we're able to enjoy once more a lovely Sundayafternoon-"Kaffeeklatsch". And for this I'm wishing you loads of fun later on when you're having a Sundayafternoonadvent-"Kaffeeklatsch" with one, two cups of tasty Sundayafternoonadventcoffee and enjoying one, two, three, four pieces of yummy Sundayafternoonadventcake. And of course I'm wishing you a great week on top - with wonderful days of Christmas!

Der BiWuBären-Weihnachtsmarkt 2013 - Teil 3

Hallo

... and welcome to the third and last part of our tour at the BiWuBear Christmas Market. After getting to know the first four stalls it's time for booth No. 5 today: Teddy's Booth.

Yes, it all started with Teddy's Booth some years ago, the whole Christmas Market began with just this single booth (both the teddy and the booth are from "Hermann Teddy Original", with additions by Birgit). But step by step stalls and pieces were added until it all became the BiWuBear Christmas Market as it is known today. But still you're getting the best mulled wine here at Teddy's - not surprising because it is made from a recipe of his mother-in-law... *grin* But to our Christmas Market there also belongs a small church - it shall always remind us of the origin of Christmas.

And in front of the church we're meeting Bowler who is responsible as in every year to shovel the snow away from the market place - and earns his mulled wine this way. And for sure it's all those little happenings and every year traditions that make our Christmas Market so special. And of course all the good friends you can meet here, like these for example:

As in every year a veeeeery worried Goebel-angel is talking seriously to Granny Smith that he shouldn't drink too much mulled wine. Every now and then even the very patient Granny gives in and invites the angel to a mulled wine to get some tranquility - and we all know that the angel had no other purpose in mind. In the meantime Ruby Fourty has a close look at the tree of the Ore Mountains Booth and says the tree would need some more decorations next year while Erdbärchen is pointing out that he can't understand why they don't sell hot strawberry wine... I totally agreee with him. But of course you don't only meet the ones who enjoy their mulled wine...

... there's also always a swot who's already done with Christmas Shopping. Looks like this year it's Mon Chéri's turn to wear the swot crown. Meanwhile the yearly drama is happening at the Ore Mountains Booth - because like in all the years before Sabienchen isn't able to make a decision whether to buy a nativity or a "Schwibbogen".

We had already started our bids... but we had to give up on that real soon -  we weren't able to find someone who wanted to bid on her finally buying something this year. *LOL* Just a few years more and she will have enough money saved to buy the whole stall. At the "Zuckerbäcker" I'm meeting Rolli, the goblin of the Witch Tower, who also has some difficulties to decide for something.

*schmunzel*
I can sooooo understand him - because everything is so tasty and tempting. And then Rolli said: "Well, to me this is also something very different from the usual spider legs and toad slime." Eh... yes... *clears-his-throat* I'd better go on the the Christmas Bakery. Here's another angel showing his purchase - very nice, such a garland with gingerbread... Lucky hasn't decided yet which cake to choose. For me that's no question at all, but I'd better have a close look if all the pieces of the strawberry cake do have the same size... *smile*

*grins*
As usual Lavendelinchen and Herzbube only have eyes for each other... while Rosey and Holly disucss once more whether a Christmas Tree should be trimmed in a traditional red-green-gold or if it might even be a little more fashionable, like pink for example... And you have just one guess to find out who is in charge for which alternative... *grin*

Meanwhile the big Christmas Tree on the market place get's its festive decoration, and as always the Goebel-angel thinks that there's still a space where a star is missing and in Jolly's general opinion there are many, many more baubles needed - but of course they're not done yet.

Time to test the illuminiation...

... beeeeeeautiiiiiiiful! This is also the opinion of Polus and Paula who can't get enough of looking at the tree. And this is somehow what's different about our market - that you're able to find dragons and other magical beings here. But of course our friends of the Witch Tower are here with their own sales cart. One side is for magical customers only...

... and the yummy side is for all bearies!

Sorry, we had to use a photo from the archives here... but we wanted to show you what special treats they're selling here. Btw without the use of toad slime or stuff like that, only with good ingredients... only when it comes to the presentation there's a little anti-gravitiy spell involved.

*zwinker*
Mysteria de Spell is responsible for providing her customers - here Amselino and Azurro - with yummy cookies and cakes while Magica and Arthud take care of the Hot Dragonblood. But don't worry, that's just an expression... *wink*

Once more Borthud Skullington and Tschang are offering Dragon Riding - Sunny has been looking forward to this the whole year long! And I - I'm looking forward to a lovely mulled wine after our tour. I've asked Sally to get us some.

My, what can be said about this shocking scene at the picture's edge still... The nasty pee-boy is back again... *tsssss* As always I would like to point out that this bad-behaving little guy is NOT a BiWuBear. But now I have something important to do, I had to promise this to the salesbear of the Ore Mountains Booth and to his nerves. "Sabienchen... just have a break! Sally got us some mulled wine... so come on before it starts getting cold."

Advent!
Yes, and that's the end of our tour of the BiWuBear Christmas Market for this year. I hope you've had a little fun here. And now I'm going to enjoy a nice mug of mulled wine together with my friends. I'm wishing to all of you a great time and a nice Advent 4th!

Adventskaffeeklatsch

Hallo,

... during Christmas season it's a common habit to think of all your dear ones, the closer and even the not-so-close-ones, be it with a gift, a card, a call or a visit. I for example have an appointment with my buddy Rubiel today who invited me to another Advent-"Kaffeeklatsch" in his Christmas Room like in every year.

But of course if you're a well-behaved flutterybeary that's still needing some more positive points in a certain Golden Book owned by a certain gentleman wearing a red suit and having a white beard it isn't a bad idea to get a gift as a "Thank you" for the invitation. So I thougt I'd buy something for him in our Christmas Shop. If one lives the whole year in a Christmas Room like Rubiel he's able to enjoy it the whole year long. Thinking was doing it... so I went to the Christmas Shop.

Well, honestly speaking, I always enjoy coming along here because there's always so much to discover and everything smells so tasty and tempting... Nevertheless it's alway better being on a simple "I-just-want-to-have-a-look-around"-visit. Because if you want to buy something for a friend like me now then it's getting quite difficult... The problem with the Christmas Shop is the huge variety of beautiful things - I'm never able to decide for anything! Not among the things on the left side...

neither among the things on the right side...

*seufz*
... and among the offered Christmas treats it's simply impossible to choose because everything looks so yummy and tempting. *sigh*

Decisions - neverending decisions! In moments like these I can truly understand our Sabienchen who can't decide since years whether to buy a "Schwibbogen" or a nativity at our Christmas Market.

But finally I've found a lovely gift for Rubiel which the friendly salesbear wrapped nicely for me. But now it's about time for me to make my way - to make sure my coffee won't get cold. *grin* Luckily the ways are not long around here and so just a moment later I was sitting comfy at Rubiel's sofa in his cozy Christmas Room.

He had already prepared one, two cups of tasty coffee and one, two, three, four pieces of yummy cake and on top cookies and then we enjyoed a nice Advent-"Kaffeeklatsch" and talked and laughed a lot.

Of course I've tried as always to find out if maybe one of the parcels under the Christmas Tree might carry my name on it. Could be, couldn't it? But Rubiel's dog is quite on his guard, Benny is usually a very friendly dog but before Christmas Eve he's guarding the Christmas gifts as if he was trained by Birgit.

When I start thinking this over - could even be true! *LOL* Well, I decided to cuddle Benny instead because that's nice, too... and somewhen after the last cake crumbs were eaten I went home to my Cottage which during December isn't a Strawberry Cottage anymore because it changes into a Christmas Cottage. And whenever I'm coming home - well, right at the entrance my flutterbearyheart gets warm because everything looks so lovely.

Coming home is for sure always nice. As first I'm checking the dish I placed in front of the door for Santa and Rudolph. But all the cookies and the carrot for Rudolph are still there... so they haven't been here. *sigh* My Birgit says anyway that I'm way too early with this and they would never come around before Christmas Eve. My, but now they're still having free time... and I would even invite them to come in and have a "Kaffeeklatsch" with me. Wouldn't that be great - having Santa and Rudolph for a visit? But somehow... it just came to my mind... Santa would not only bring Rudolph with him, there are all the others too... Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner and Blitzen. I somehow fear my Cottage wouldn't be big enough for all of them. And would a reindeer (or even worse 9 reindeers) feel comfortable in a Flutterbearycottage? Questions, so many questions... but one thing is for sure: Tomorrow I'm going to buy more carrots. I can't dare to take any risk, codeword "Golden Book".

But when I'm entering my lovely christmassy Cottage I don't care about decisions and questions anymore, then I simply enjoy having it so nice at home - and that we have Advent and that Christmas is near, yessir. And every time it's great to come into my Christmas Cottage.

And then I'm lighting my Christmas Tree to increase the festive mood.

Sooooo nice... I am so happy that I got my own tree this year as a gift from Birgit! Nevertheless... when I'm enjoying a nice mug of coffee with one, two, three, four cookies... then I prefer having a little more light...

... otherwise you can't see what kind of cookie you get... *teehee* And a good illumination is also important if you want to show the new gift we have received in the meantime, have a look:

So many exciting presents... and they were all sent by our dear friend Maria who sooooo kindly thought of us.

Dear Maria, thank you once more from the bottom of my flutterybeary heart - and from Birgit's heart, too!

;O)
Oh my... Christmas time is simply beautiful - but somehow also a bit exhausting sometimes. I just say: Decisions... so many decisions. And not to talk about the tempations... all the parcels that shall not be opened before Christmas Eve but are already whipering in my ear: "Fluby, open us... please open us..." *sigh* Well, I'd better overhear that - because Birgit claims Santa would see EVERYTHING - even a single flutterybeary paw on a single packet... and I can't take any risk... ;O)
