Hallo,
... I'm sure you still remember the lovely family Magictree I've introduced to you lately. Well, after all of this Birgit couldn't stand any more leaves... at least not of that sort she had to make all by herself from paper. *LOL* But I have already told you that Birgit didn't manage to leave the leaves behind... and this was all my little sister's fault.

It all started one lovely day when I happened to meet Rosey together with Gertie Gumthrop - and the two of them on a very special garden bench made of metal I had never seen before. Well, being the blogbeary it's my duty to be informed about everything that's going on around here... and I was also a teenytiny bit curious too... so I went to them and asked: "How do you do? And what about this garden bench?"

Rosey: Hallo Fluby! Ist die nicht toll???
Flutterby: Doch... ein schönes Stück... mal was anderes.
Gertie: Also wirklich, meine kleinen pelzigen Freunde...
Rosey: Hi Fluby! Isn't this awesome???
Flutterby: Sure... a lovely piece... very special indeed. I really like it... but do you really have enough space for this in Flower Cottage's garden... or is this meant for your roof garden, Gertie?
Gertie (smiling): Somehow... at least this will be this bench's place later on.
Rosey: Yes - because this is going to become a bed for Orlin McTwizzle!
Flutterby: For Orlin?
Rosey: Yes... see... I still wanted to find a way to thank Orlin for all his help when building my garden...
Flutterby: Ah... now I get it. Btw (grinning)... I've been helping you too!
Rosey (showing him a grimace): That's sooo you... in my opinion all those "Kaffeeklatsch"-invitations in the meantime were more than worth your little bit of effort when carrying chairs!
Flutterby: (starts to reply but gets interrupted)
Gertie: Calm down, my little furry friends... you shall not always argue with each other - otherwise I might start to think about brewing a "Be-kind-to-each-other"-potion!
Flutterby: Eh... no need for this... okay Rosey, you want to thank Orlin for his help, this far I've understood. But this here is far more a garden settee than a bed, isn't it?

Rosey (nickt): Klar, ohne Birgit-Touch geht ja wohl gar nichts!
Rosey (laughing): Yes - and that's why I was asking for Gertie's advice as an expert because I wasn't sure what would please a root gnome.
Gertie: Poor Orlin... his former master really treated him bad and kept him in a box he was only allowed to leave for work... he would already be glad and content with a pile of leaves.
Rosey: But it should be a bit more than a pile of leaves - and that's when this garden bench came to our mind.
Flutterby: I foresee trouble... let me guess... this will mean work for Birgit, doesn't it?
Rosey (nodding): Sure, it won't do without a bit of Birgit-touch!
Flutterby: Does Birgit already know how lucky she is?
Rosey (beams-with-joy): Oh yes... and she said she would be over the moon having the chance to make loads of leaves once more!
Flutterby (silently to himself): That's hard to believe...

Yes, this is how it all started... Madame Rosey decided to make Orlin happy with his own bed and Birgit found herself responsible for the makeover of a garden bench into a bed for a root gnome. And one thing was clear right from the start... once more many more leaves would be needed. MANY leaves... But one thing after the other - this is once more the original garden bench:

First Birgit covered everything except the seats and the decorative elements at the sides with airdry clay. It was the first time Birgit has worked with cold porcelain and she had to get used to this material because the handling is somehow different than with Fimo what is what Birgit usually uses. You can see this looking at the little branches Birgit has added... they turned out a bit too thick. Our buddy Sioux said they would look like huge, dangerous thorns...

Sieht wirklich nicht sehr einladend aus...
Doesn't look very inviting indeed...

... but Birgit stayed calm and carried on saying this would all get well in the end... *grin* Nevertheless it was now once more time for Birgit's brushes... everything was coloured brown and a bit of "moss" was added. But even more - a lovely soft foliage mattress was cut to fit the settee...

And now it slowly gets visible that this is going to become a very special bed for a root gnome.

But now the moment had come... once more time for Birgit's favourite job! Yes... now once more loads of leaves had to be made. And after the first portion of leaves was attached to Orlin's future bed it looked like this:

You can already guess how it will look in the end... but until then Birgit will need to make many more leaves because unfortunately she has decided that the leaf carpet on top needs to be very tight to protect Orlin even in bad weather. (As if there would ever be bad weather in Birgit's livingroom... *teehee*)

Well, now you know why Birgit couldn't get rid of making leaves after finishing the magical trees... And how it will continue with Orlin's bed and what Orlin himself says to all of this... well... this I'm going to tell you the next time! ;O)

Oh darn it! Now I want that bed too! Well in my dreams of course for I am pretty sure the trees wouldn't fit in my room. :) Great work Brigit! Hope to see more soon!

Skiddi
Jöööö...... so herzig!
