Blogfreunde / Blogfriends

 Hallo,

... it's us again! Did anybody miss us??? Well, we're bringing a bit of visual spring along with us...

... coming along in the shape of the picture for March from Birgit's flower calendar. Btw Birgit was really in need for a little glimpse of spring because she lately had a few unwanted dates with her shovel, you know, the sort of shovel needed when dealing with cold, white stuff... and you might remember that this never brings Birgit into a good mood. And although we suppose that all of us are dreaming of spring we're dealing still again with winter today - or let's better say with a holiday at the end of the year which should not be named neither in March. Sadly we won't be able to avoid this because this post's subject is once more Christmas gifts. We had already announced the last time that all the fabulous miniatures which Jodi with the help of her 3D printer gave to uns deserved their own post. Et voilá - and here comes this post! For memory refreshment: We've shown this photo at the beginning of this year:

*zwinker*
A big bunch of the most awesome miniatures... and all of them are just waiting for Birgit and her brushes. *grin* However... some of them will have to wait a little longer to meet Birgit's brushes... simply because it still needs to show up which colours are meant to come onto the brushes. *LOL* And we're starting right away with these We-still-need-to-have-plenty-of-patience-miniatures. These are miniatures for the kitchen which Jodi created some time ago when she was thinking about selling her miniatures. We start with 3 canisters - of course with removable lids. Hey, we're dealing with Jodi here! *wink*

*grins*
Let's continue: A rolling pin, a sifter, 3 bowls with spatula, in fact 3 (!!!) honey pots (to make sure that Birgit's projects will also receive one as Rosey and I insist that two of them are carrying our names on them, yess... eh... where was I...) and a mixer which doesn't miss one single detail Even cord is included for the plug... of course, as I said... we're talking about Jodi here. *grin*

*lach*
And then we also found three lanterns in three sizes - once more a complete set because next to matching candles it also contained thread for making wicks and metal rings to become holders. Btw... did I already mention that it's sooooo typical Jodi to think of everything? *LOL*

Birgit promised Rosey one for her garden which is supposed to get a makeover and to become bigger in a far away future. And Birgit wants to use the other two for the Christmas project... however I did not give up hope yet being able to get my paws on one of them for Strawberry Cottage still. According to me one lantern would be enough for the Christmas project... *tweet*

And speaking of the Christmas project... now we're showing the miniatures which Jodi created and made especially for Birgit. This touched us very much... And Jodi had a wonderful inspiration for the things we're going to show next: A cookie decoration station at the BiWuBeary Christmas Market! What a great idea!!! Everybody around here fell in love with it at once... with one exception... and if you'd like you can guess now who it was. Some helpful hints: She's no BiWuBeary, apparently bigger than 10 beary centimeters and she pays all bills and even taxes around here. *broadgrin* Sadly she was somehow right with her veto.... in fact we don't have enough space anymore at our Christmas Market. But to our relief Birgit came up with a real good alternative at once. As she had always planned to have a big work table in the kitchen of the Christmas project where Christmas cookies will be prepared Jodi's idea will be honored at this place instead. And we really got everything one would ever need for this - but see for yourselves.

Ganze 24 (!) Plätzchenausstecher in verschiedenen Formen.
In fact 24 (!) cookie cutters in different shapes. We would even be able to fill an Advent calendar with them (Please remember that German Advent calendars have 24 doors *smile*)! Regarding this amount Birgit is wondering if she should use some of the shapes to decorate for example a wreath for the kitchen. And we bet you won't be surprised that where there are many cookie cutters there must be many cookies too.

In one bag we also found a baking tray with two more cookie cutters plus matching cookies (top row). And although Birgit is once more wondering if she should paint some of those cookies in colors to turn them into ornaments she still gave them their first coat of paint.

Far from being finished... however they already look yummy. And although all of this has already been more than spectacular you know well that it's always good to save the best for last... coming along in the shape of these incredibly beautiful 9 miniatures:

And they even have a little secret... giving Rosey and me the opportunity to raise the educational level of ths blog a bit... *ehem*...

We're now going to quote world literature... in fact the Queen of Hearts from "Alice in Wonderland": "OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!!!"

Is this a burner or is this a burner??? These are jars! Each one can be filled... because Jodi thought they might be used for storing the sweet decoration stuff for the cookie station. Simply gorgeous - and made for us... *sigh* Now we're going to show you these beauties a little closer... and of course also how they look now after Birgit granted them some paint, a glossy finish (for a ceramic look) and some details for example with pearls, paper and thread. *smile* We're starting with the snowmen in two sizes and the gingerbreadman.

Und so sehen sie jetzt aus:
And this is how they look now:

Next in line are the Christmas teddy, the gingerbread house and the penguin.

Btw Birgit gave the teddy a teenytiny BiWuBeary upgrade. Its shape is of course far away from a BiWuBeary but with the help of glue (also known as "the glue trick"... greetings to Betsy!) she turned the small pointy nose into something which reminds more of a BiWuBeary honey detector.... as well as the typical broad grin... which can hardly be seen at the picture because it looks more as if was the outside of the snout. Birgit also granted him a little bow around his neck and the penguin too received a little bow tie and some wire for his earmuffs.

And with this we're coming to the beautiful snowman, the Christmas tree and the incredibly detailed Santa.

And after meeting Birgit they look like this:

Zeit für ein Gruppenfoto!
Time for a group photo!

*hihi*
And we may repeat ourselves... off with their heads!!! *teehee*

*lach*
We are totally grateful for all these wonderful gifts. And regarding the Christmas project Birgit now already owns an All-inclusive-package for the kitchen's decoration. *smile* But we've received yet another Christmas greeting which arrived for good reasons as usual in this year... and now it should also be clear why this post's title comes along in plural. *grin* Once more in this year our dear friend Betsy spoiled us rotten with a very kind greeting - including our own copy of Betsy's legendary Christmas card. But we're starting with the gifts which will become remaining memories after being safely stored on the hips. *LOL*

Oberlecker!
Totally yummy! But Betsy did not just spoil us with yummy calories but also with three more "Secret Books" kits by Robin Betterley. How great is that??? And it gets even better! Betsy already gave us "The Gingerbread House" from the so called "Christmas Trilogy" - and now we got the other two editions coming along as "The Gingerbread Girl" and "The Gingerbread Boy" Now we own the whole trilogy... and one thing is already clear: These two new books too won't look as the kits suggests in the end. Birgit had already totally changed the interior of "The Gingerbread House" - we're showing it once more here.

Link zur kommerziellen Webseite von / link to the commercial website of Robin Betterley: https://www.robinbetterley.com/

The third kit which Betsy gave to us is meant to build a bigger book with two floors... meaning space for even more Birgit-touch. And the best thing: The title is "Frosty's - A Snowman's Christmas". My, the silent blogreader would have loved that...

*grins*
But now we're finally coming to Betsy's Christmas card... and the card for 2022 absolutely joins the line of in the meantime 40 incredible masterpieces which Betsy created over the years. By now Birgit is after all the very proud owner of 11 of them... and it's no secret that she has plans for them in the future which are related with the Christmas project. But enough words... here comes Betsy's card! Most of you will already know it... but so far not with two blogbearies by its sides! *grin*

And because Betsy's card is celebrating its ruby jubilee after 40 years her card which is as always brilliantly designed up to the smallest detail forms the letter "R" this time. And as always it shows events from Betsy's real life but also the miniature projects she worked on over the year. And in the center we can see the "Dollmaker's Studio" with both floors.

We have always so much fun discovering all those tiny details and remembering the story behind them.

- einfach in jeder Hinsicht beeindruckend.
Whether it's these two tiny elves holding the ribbon which forms the "R"... or the treasures at the table which Betsy bought last year at a fair... or the original reproduction of the stool and the chairs for which Betsy stitched the upholstery... or the project "Ravenwood" where even the stairs in scale 1:444 were granted a carpet... etc. - simply impressive in every way. And we can even spot the beginnings of a tiny reindeer which shall land one day together with 7 mates at the Secret Christmas House which can also been seen in all its beauty at the picture. Btw Rosey and I are convinced that this is already a glimpse into future *wink*:

But of course Birgit was touched the most from these details of the picture:

*schmunzel*
All fairy bearies from the Cloud Palace and snowman Cloude (or in other words: All BiWuBearies which found a home at Betsy's place) watch Betsy while she's stitching. Birgit is always touched whenever her BiWuBearies make their way onto Betsy's legendary cards... but this time even a bit more because this picture does not only show Betsy while she's stitching. If you look very closely you can discover what Betsy is stitching: Her first real own stitching design coming along in the shape of a medieval lady in addition to two bought stitching designs. And because Betsy's cards are composed in the most ingenious way we can see the finished stitchings hanging at the walls of Rose Thorn Cottage in the picture below... together with the Little Dreamers with the one on the left of the picture being Beth... Betsy's miniature Alter Ego. Btw - did we already mention how much fun we have discovering all these wonderful details??? *smile*

Dearest Jodi and dearest Betsy - once more from this place too: Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your wonderful, thoughtful and well chosen / well made gifts. But most of all for the biggest gift of all: Your friendship! You managed to send us so much joy and we are absolutely thankful and feel blessed. Thank you so much!

And with this we're saying goodbye for now - and we're wishing to all of you a great time for the days remaining in March... with hopefully plenty of time for miniature projects. And regarding the wonderful gifts we've received we would like to remind you of a saying the unforgettable Sans! made popular: Blogfriends are real friends! In this context - did you know at all that it was Sans! who gave me my nickname Fluby? *beams-with-joy* So sad she doesn't blog anymore... like so many others. That's why we would like to thank all of you who did not give up their blogs yet... and who still drop by at our modest blog. And that's why you're receiving some flowers from us at this post's end... coming along in a short edition of "And once more many pictures of BiWuBearies in the garden" (volume 93932 *grin*). Last Wednesday we suffered from plenty of this nasty cold white stuff while at Friday we we're enjoying a very nice spring day. ;O)

Dear Fluby and Rosey and Birgit too, This is a very good example of how it is somehow okay to bring up the "Christmas" word when the Holiday is nowhere in sight! Those gifts form Jodi are Astounding! There is such an amazing selection of everything you could possibly want in a Christmas kitchen! (Well... maybe with the exception of a Teapot or Gluhwine urn!:)) But I am sure Birgit will remedy that small oversight when she is building the room! The cookie cutters alone are a treasure horde! Not to mention the ready-made cut out cookies (I think there needs to be a tree decorated with Gingerbread cookie figures!) And those Jars are so original! (Jodi, you are a Wonder woman!!!) And Birgit has truly done them justice with the paint and decorations she added... (I am especially glad the "glue trick" has been helpful here!!! ) I am so looking forward to seeing progress on the Christmas House project! :):)
And as for my own small and as-late-as-can-be-tolerated gifts.... they are only what I think Birgit deserves in the realm of Blog-friend-dom! After all, she gives so much to so many.... and I include for myself the un-failing loving inspiration of you BiWuBearys! (And I know personally how much joy and creativity they inspire!) And here I must add that I Love Love LOVE the picture of you Bearys looking carefully at my card..... that touches me deeply! :):) As for whether the tiny "Gluey" (Hi Huibrecht!) will soon be up and flying with perhaps an "Elmer" and a "Bondo" or a "Aileen" .... that is something I cannot promise..... but you are absolutely right that the drawing is the Dream taking flight...! I am so glad you are still showing up here on your blog with pictures of beautiful smiling beareys among the blossoms of Spring!!! Even if we are still talking about Christmas! :):):)

What a wonderful post, dear fluby!

Both Jodi's and Betsy's christmas gifts are beautiful and thoughtful. I love the way Birgit painted the ones she did and am looking forward to seeing the rest. I love Betsy's card with all the fine details.
It's wonder to enjoy, along with you and Rosey, the first signs of spring.
Wishing you two, Birgit and the rest of the BiWuBaren a quick arriving spring,
Hugs, Drora

Ah March! The month that we eagerly greet spring and the promise of sunshine, warmth, new life and venturing out into nature again! This beautiful calendar photo captures the feeling perfectly! I love Birgit's arrangement of daffodils and her charming rustic table composition!

Seeing all the photos of the minis I sent has made me feel a little guilty. Boy did I saddle Birgit with a great responsibility! And believe me, I know what a commitment it is to paint so many 3D printed minis, one after another. But I am also feeling a bit like a sage - I knew that in Birgit's deft hands they could transform from obscure hunks of PLA into mini works of art! Wow! Those cookie jars look fantastic!

As for the lanterns, Fluby, you let me know what you need and I will send you your very own set. I could even include a strawberry lamp if it would suit you. 😜

I feel a little less rotten knowing Betsy also sent Birgit a good amount of homework. The payoff will be totally worth it, though, after these darling, teeny books get "The Birgit Treatment"! At lease both Betsy and I know to soften the blow with chocolate!

There are no fitting words to express the joy it is to see Betsy's astounding artistry poured into her yearly Christmas card! They seem to reach new heights each year in the level of detail and clever presentation! It seems to me if you are this talented you should be able to lay around all day and let people peel grapes for you. But sadly, only those of us in the mini blog world will ever fully know and be inspired by Betsy's real genius. We are so lucky to have her!!!

And I am so lucky to have such amazing and talented blog friends! You keep me inspired every day!

Birgit´s hands and paint brushes are just the right match to make Jodi´s miniatures even more wonderful, and Birgit has done it again, all this mini treasures look fabulous and can´t wait to see them in their perfect place.

The gifts from Betsy are also fantastic and her card is just a very precious piece of art. Birgit is very lucky and she deserves all these wonderful gifts as she is one of the most giving people I know in this miniature world. I wish you all a fabulous spring time. Loads of love xxx
