Vier Variationen von "Willkommen"

Hallo,

... today's post is about four variations of "Welcome". And the first welcome is of course dedicated to the new month! Incredible... August is already here!!! And of course this month I have helped my Birgit once more with the update of her several calendars, you know it - I am a gentlebear from top to toe... *giggle* And of course there is once more a lovely picture waiting in August for us on our wisdom calendar and this month's saying is from Jochen Mariss (as always I am not going to quote but try to say it in my own poor English); he said at the tree of life many moments are growing and every single one of them is precious.

*lach*
Yes, that's true... nothing to add to this as far as I am concerned. As well as with a saying by Baseball player Jim Nelson who said long before growing into an adult a teddy taught him what love really means - being there when you're needed. *sigh* Really... I just love this saying! You couldn't say it any better... happy are those having a teddy as a friend - like my Birgit... She can be really happy to have me because I am a beary which means I am a teddy... and I am always there to help with updating her calendars... *LOL*

But now we continue with the second welcome... let me say it this way: Welcome to the 93876th episode of "And once more many pictures of BiWuBearies in the garden"! *teehee* Yes, it was about time for Rosey and me to go on a discovery tour in our garden again and this time Azurro was with us. Strange somehow, Birgit muttered something about "maybe my blue guardian angel beary can keep them away from arguing..." Do you understand how she meant this? As if Rosey and I would ever argue... *grin* But it was great having Azurro with us... and it fit well - because the first stop on our tour was our blue hydrangea who is in full bloom now. Great... and this doesn't need any further explanations...

*lach*
But as you would have expected when having Miss I-love-everything-in-pink around we also visited the pink hydrangea. And what am I supposed to tell you... also beautiful... and also very comfy! *LOL*

And now to the third welcome - and to a little crafting-along Birgit has made for Gertie's retirement home matching today's topic perfectly: Birgit has made door plates for Gertie's door - and in the future they will welcome every visitor (at least the invited ones).

*schmunzel*
This way they don't look very interesting at all - but it improves at once with a little colour. These guys look quite amazed, don't they? *smile*

*zwinker*):
And this is how they look attached to Gertie's door (okay, at least one of them... the other one is of course on the other side... *wink*):

And now we come the the 4th and last welcome for today - a really heartwarm welcome for the newest member of our BiWuBeary gang!!! *beams-with-joy* Yes, once more a BiWuBeary hopped from Birgit's needle... or to be more exact... a BiWuBeary snowman. Flocke is his name which is German for "flake" - and he looks like this:

Maybe our long-standing readers might be thinking by now... snowman in August?! Yes... as in every year also in 2015 today's the birthday of our silent blogreader aka Birgit's Mom aka my Granny aka the biggest snowman lover I know!!! And that's why Flocke is going to make the collection of snow beings (because there are not only snowmen but also some snow ladies) of Birgit's Mom bigger for just one more carrot nose - and Rosey, Flocke and I are saying now together:

Herzlichen Glückwunsch!!! Alles, alles Gute zum Geburtstag!!!
Congratulations!!! Happy Birthday!!!

To all of you we're wishing a wonderful August full with many precious moments!

Liebe Grüße / Hugs

Flatterbärchen mal ganz groß

Hallo,

*schmunzel*
... as most of you might know I am - like all BiWuBearies - about 9 proud beary centimeters tall. Well, okay... 9 cm don't make you belong to the big guys' club... and sometimes being small can even bring advantages... for example when visiting the garden I am able to sit comfortable in the blossoms... Nevertheless... sometimes it's admittedly quite nice being able to feel big somehow - which happens if by chance someone might be even smaller than you are... *smile*

And this is what I am able to enjoy today... because today I may introduce you to two very special ladies: Eusebia Featherstone and her Granny Mathilda.

*kicher*
Those two sure are cute, aren't they??? At this photo I look somehow like a puppeteer, don't I? *giggle*

Eusebia and Mathilda are two artist dolls by Adora Bella Minis in 1:48 scale made by British artisan Joy Cox who creates truly special and unique character dolls. Birgit was really happy being able to get these two tiny character dolls... to have some inhabitants for her future houses in 1:48... that's what she said... Well, this made me ROFL for sure... *grin* You must know this is some veeeeeeery far away future when Birgit is going to build houses in 1:48. Okay, she already owns two very nice kits by Petite Properties... but until she'll get to them there will be much time passing. First Gertie's retirement home needs to be finished... Bowler's Snowball-House needs a makeover... the Christmas House needs to be built... and Rosey insists on having her own apple tree... and not to forget the 1:48 houses are meant for the day when there will finally be no more space for another project in 1:12... I'm going to sum it up: It will take ages until Birgit is going to build a house in 1:48... but sure... one needs inhabitants for it... although... just a word between us... *whisper*... somehow I can understand why Birgit couldn't resist these two cuties. And I really agree with my Birgit who said she had no idea how anyone could be able to sculpt faces and hands as tiny as these being so full of character... not to forget the clothes... just look at this lovely cardigan... yes... somehow I can understand that Birgit wanted to spoil herself... and not to forget it improves my negotiation position when we're talking about the next raise of my allowance... *teehee*

But back to our topic... or to be more exact back to those tiny ladies... well, I enjoyed being a big beary for a change. And then I had an idea... and introduced Eusebia and Mathilda to Birgit's babydragons!

*lach*
Love at first sight! And they too were happy meeting someone matching their size for a change... *LOL*

Die haben ihre Streicheleinheiten echt genossen...
They really enjoyed their share of cuddles...

After this unit of cuddling with dragons I invited Eusebia and Mathilda to a Welcome-"Kaffeeklatsch" at Strawberry Cottage with kind support of my little sister Rosey... who got along quite well with little witch Eusebia right from the start... must be some kind of congeniality... *teehee*

Na???
And before I'm saying goodbye to you for today I still have a little riddle for you: What is red, juicy and aromatic??? Well???

* * *

Genau - unsere Johannisbeeren!
Sure - our red currants! (And to all of you who guessed strawberries: I didn't say anything about sweet, did I??? *LOL*) Birgit has just filled this bowl... and that's not all yet... not a bad result from just one single shrub.

*grins*
These will be used for a tasty sauce... just a dream together with vanilla icecream... *yummy* Almost as tasty as vanilla icecream with strawberries... I said almost... because of course there's nothing that can top red, sweet, juicy and aromatic strawberries... at least not for someone like me having a teenytiny weakness for strawberries... *grin*

For those about to rock...

... we salute you!!!

Hallo,

*grins*
... although the introduction might suggest something else - but today's post is not about rock music in general or about AC/DC in special... it's about the walls of Gertie's witch house - from the inside as well as from the outside. *grin*

As some of you know Birgit has some troubles with her arms and is not able to do some sorts of work or only with big difficulties... For example covering a facade with bricks made of egg carton is not really an option for Birgit because cutting so many egg carton "bricks" would be much too exhausting for her. But as always with Birgit... she's just doing it the Birgit-way somehow... and in this case her solution was not very surprising. Well, to say it once more with the gentlemen of AC/DC: Let there be rock!

Or to be more exact... rocks! Because Birgit's solution were rocks... as I said not very surprising because it's well-known that the facade of the 2nd Witch Tower is also made of rocks. And whenever Birgit is making rocks this means once more showtime for the aluminium foil! *LOL*  (If someone should be interested to read an earlier post where I've shown how Birgit created the rock walls of the 2nd Witch Tower - just click here). And here you can see the preparations for one of the window walls:

*schmunzel*
But there won't just be rocks on the outside walls... because Birgit decided the rocks are supposed to break through also in some parts in the interior - for example at half of the back wall and exactly in the area where the lights will be adjusted. But wherever walls and no rocks are visible Birgit decided to simply paint the walls - in a warm, light colour you would maybe not expect to find in a witch's house. But remember - when it comes to Witchy Chic even this works well... *smile*

But before the rest of the wall could be covered with aluminium foil Birgit needed to solve a little problem first - fixing the string with the lights. The drilling holes are meant to be filled with a simple LED-light-string - but this needs to be stuck into the holes... but not permanent because if the string might get damaged it should still be possible to remove it. Birgit spent some time thinking about this and then came up with an idea...

Yes, you're looking right - she glued pegs to the back!

The hole of the pegs appeared to have by chance the perfect size for the LED-lights and keeps them straight in the drilled holes.

And Birgit made this in a very clever way - she only glued one half of the pegs. So it's still possible to open the pegs - and if needed the lights could be removed. I've tried to make this visible for you:

Kleine Beleuchtungsprobe:
A little illumination test:

This works great - and now that Birgit was somehow satisfied with this it was time to use the aluminum foil next:

Also, ich wüsste schon, was ich darauf abstellen würde... *lach*
Birgit made sure to create some hollows and niches which can be used like shelves for storing things later on. Well, I would know for sure how to use them... *LOL*

And guess what - this made Birgit ROFL... saying why on earth I would need somehing for storing strawberry cakes... shocking... it's not alwasy that easy for me around here... just because I have this teenytiny weakness when it comes to strawberries... oh my... *sigh*... strawberries... sweet, red, juicy, aromatic strawberries... eh... back to our topic... After the aluminium foil it was time for the structure paste and then everything still needed to be painted and shaded. The painting part is still missing on the next two photos - although the back wall is otherwise done... whereas the side wall was only made partly because the fireplace still needs to be planned.

And although the colours are not done yet... but you already get an impression how this is going to look in the end. Nevertheless... I should better show you what happened to the window wall from the beginning:

This is how a rock wall à la Birgit looks like... although... there's still something missing... so this is how a rock wall à la Birgit looks like when its done:

However... if this is really done yet... well, for today it is... and everything else will show up... somewhen... in another post... ;O)

Ein Bett für Orlin (Teil 2)

Hallo,

... today we're going to continue with the bed for Orlin McTwizzle... well, you could also say Birgit had to continue with making leaves... many leaves... plenty of leaves... *grin* And besides of this Birgit kept thinking about a bedding for Orlin... A nice fabric was fast at hand - a lovely cobweb fabric by Julie/Weewovens.

*lach*
Here's once more a close-up just to make sure you're going to believe this cobweb thing... *LOL*

But now there was a problem that needed to be solved... because Orlin's bed was meant to be used as a seat at daytime... In other words - the bedding needs to disappear during daytime. And I was just about to suggest to Birgit to ask the Witch Tower inhabitants about a "Daylight-Disappear-Charm" when she showed her solution to me:

Yes, this blanket gets rolled up - somehow like a picnic blanket - and hangs on a branch. This is how it looks like:

As you can see Birgit was really busy and made plenty of leaves for Orlin's bed. And after Birgit made even more leaves and attached them somewhen she decided she was done with it. And believe me - the face she was showing when saying this made any denying impossible... *grin* But I have to be fair so I have to admit that the bed looked indeed finished now:

So it was time now for the big surprise... and guess what... after all the work was done suddenly my little sister appeared *cheeky-grin* und we were waiting together for the arrival of Gertie and Orlin.

We didn't have to wait too long until the well-known sparkling stars announced magical visitors and Gertie and Orlin were standing in front of us. Orlin being totally unaware looked at the bed in amazement...

... but when Rosey started to explain to him that this was HIS new bed being a thankyou from her for all his help with the garden of Flower Cottage and mentioned that she asked Birgit to create this bed just for him Orlin was saying...

NICHTS!
NOTHING! Not a single word came from his lips... he was staring speechless at the bed... But just when we intended to ask him if everything was okay and if he wouldn't like the bed... then all of a sudden he started to sob.

And he didn't stop with it anymore... you would never believe how many tears can come out of one single root gnome! We managed to softly place him on the settee and after a while he calmed down a bit and appeared to be open to conservation again... and all the thee of us started to talk to him at the same time.

Flutterby: Alles in Ordnung?
Gertie: Orlin, are you fine again?
Rosey: Say Orlin - don't you like your new bed?
Flutterby: Everything okay with you? Can we help you? Or don't you like the bed at all?
Orlin (sobbing): This is the most beautiful bed Orlin has ever seen!
Flutterby: But... why on earth are you crying?
Orlin: Orlin never had an own bed... and of course not a bed as beautiful as this... and whatsmore... (swallows)... never before anyone has done something as nice as this for Orlin.

And all of a sudden Orlin jumped to his feet and hugged Rosey and from this moment he only said "Thanks" and "Thank you very much" alternately to Rosey and also to Birgit and he sounded like a disc with a crack in it. But after his supply of "Thanks" and "Thank you very much" was emptied he sat down again on his bed and said: "Orlin is indeed the most happiest root gnome in the whole wide world!"

Well, this made us laugh... because somehow... well, somehow we all had a feeling that we had heard something in this style somewhere before... *grin* And now there's only one question remaining: What will Birgit do next now that she don't has to make more leaves anymore... Well, one thing is for sure... she will have some new ideas... and I am going to report about them! ;O)

Liebe Grüße / Hugs
