4. Advent

Hallo,

 

so, nun tickt die Uhr des Weihnachtscountdowns aber so richtig laut... und sagt uns mit ihrem Ticken, dass es höchste Zeit ist für einen schönen Adventssonntagskaffeeklatsch am 4. Advent.
… my, now the clock of the countdown to Christmas is really ticking loudly… and tells us with her ticktack that it's really time for a nice Adventsunday-"Kaffeeklatsch" at Advent 4th.

 

Leider hört man bei uns nicht nur das Ticken des Weihnachtscountdowns, sondern auch ein häufiges Räuspern und Schnauben von Birgit. Und das hat ausnahmsweise mal nichts mit Rosey und mir zu tun, sondern liegt daran, dass Birgit von jetzt auf gleich eine starke Erkältung bekommen hat. Ein wirklich tolles vorzeitiges Weihnachtsgeschenk - leider nicht umtauschbar. Wir werden uns daher heute etwas kürzer fassen und vom Weihnachtsmarkt nur Bilder zeigen. Wir beginnen wieder mit den Geschenken von Ilona, die wir am 3. Advent auspacken durften. Und das waren auch vorzeitige Weihnachtsgeschenke - aber die würden wir um nichts in der Welt zurück geben!
Sadly around here we not only hear the Christmas countdown ticking but also Birgit snorting and clearing her throat very often. For a change this has nothing to do with Rosey and me; in fact Birgit caught herself a bad cold in a wink of an eye. Indeed a fantastic early Christmas gift - sadly one that can't be changed. So we're going to make it a bit shorter this time and will only show pictures of our Christmas Market. But we're starting once more with the gifts from Ilona for Advent 3rd. And these were also early Christmas gifts - but of the kind we would never give back anymore!

Sooooooo schön! Eine weihnachtliche Platte von Cocky Wildschut - die jetzt in den Miniaturisten-Ruhestand geht, um so mehr sind wir aus dem Häuschen, dass wir jetzt stolze Besitzer dieses handbemalten Meisterwerks sind. Unnötig zu erwähnen, dass das einen Ehrenplatz im Weihnachtshaus bekommen wird. Außerdem erreichte uns die wohl größte Weihnachtskarte, die wir je erhalten haben - vielen Dank an Véronique für diesen wunderschönen Gruß.
Soooooo beautiful! A Christmas plate by Cocky Wildschut - who is going to retire from miniature making that's why we're even more over the moon being the proud owners of this hand painted masterpiece now. Needless to mention that this is going to get a place of honor in the Christmas House. And we also received the probably biggest Christmas card ever - many thanks to Véronique for this beautiful greeting.

Und auch Birgit hat ja einige Weihnachtsgrüße verschickt, von denen die meisten inzwischen angekommen sind. Unsere liebe Freundin Betsy hat dieses Jahr ein Extra bekommen aus Gründen, die hier nichts zur Sache tun, das wir aber natürlich hier noch zeigen müssen. Wir freuen uns, Euch endlich das neueste Mitglied unserer BiWuBärentruppe zeigen zu dürfen: Cloude! Nur echt mit dem "e" hinten! *schmunzel*
And Birgit too has sent some Christmas greetings; most of them have reached their destination in the meantime. Our dear friend Betsy got an Extra this year for reasons that don't matter here but of course we need to show it. We're happy that we finally can show the newest member of our BiWuBeary gang: Cloude! With an "e" at the end! *smile*

Selbstverständlich gab es für Cloude vor seiner Abreise noch einen schönen Abschiedskaffeeklatsch - sogar noch im Garten von Strawberry Cottage.
Of course Cloude was invited to a nice goodbye-"Kaffeeklatsch" before his departure - still in the garden of Strawberry Cottage.
 

 

Und ein gemeinsames Fotoshooting mit Ginny gab's auch noch - hier kann man wieder deutlich sehen, dass auch Birgits Schneewesen alle ihre eigene Persönlichkeit haben.
And he also had a photo shooting together with Ginny - here you can see very clearly that all of Birgit's snow beings have their own personality too.

Aber nun kommen wir endlich zum Besuch auf dem BiWuBären-Weihnachtsmarkt - mit jeder Menge Besuchern (wobei alle Keramikengel von Goebel und die Verkäuferbären einfache Steiff-Bären sind - mit Ausnahme von Teddy, der von Teddy Hermann Original stammt) und natürlich Beleuchtung. Versprochen ist versprochen!
But now we're finally going to visit the BiWuBeary Christmas Market - with many visitors (with all ceramic angels made by Goebel and the sales bears by Steiff - with the exception of Teddy who was made by Teddy Hermann Original) and of course with the lights on. We're keeping our promises!

Sehr stimmungsvoll, oder? Aber weil man so nicht allzu viel erkennen kann, machen wir doch noch ein bisschen mehr Licht.
Quite a nice atmosphere, isn't it? But because it's hard to discover the details we're going to have a little more light now.

Und nachdem Ihr nun wisst, wo wer und was ist - Zusatzlicht aus!
And now that you know where everybeary and everything is - additional lights out!
 

 

Ach ja, es war auch dieses Jahr wieder herrlich auf unserem Weihnachtsmarkt! Es wird wie immer traurig, wenn die Buden in ein paar Tagen wieder schließen - aber wie jemand, der mir sehr, sehr nahe steht, immer zu sagen pflegt: Alles hat seine Zeit! *lach* Und wir werden die verbleibende Zeit richtig gut nutzen, das könnt Ihr mir glauben. Aber natürlich erst nach einem schönen, gemütlichen Adventssonntagsnachmittagskaffeeklatsch mit ein, zwei Tässchen leckerem Adventssonntagsnachmittagskaffee und ein, zwei, drei, vier Stückchen oberleckerem Adventssonntagsnachmittagskuchen - und natürlich vier brennenden Kerzen am Adventskranz.
Oh my, it was once more wonderful at our Christmas Market this year! And as always it will be very sad when the booths are closing in a few days - but as someone I'm very related to always uses to say: Everything has its own time! *LOL* We're going to enjoy the remaining time to the maximum, trust on me. But of course we're going to have a nice, cozy Adventsundayafternoon-"Kaffeeklatsch" first with one, two cups of tasty Adventsundayafternooncoffee and one, two, three, four pieces of yummy Adventsundayafternooncake - and of course with four burning candles at the Advent wreath.
 

 

Aber zu unseren Posts am 4. Advent gehört ja immer auch die Geschichte von den vier Kerzen - hier ist sie:
But to every post from us for Advent 4th belongs for sure the story of the four candles - here it is:

 

Die vier Kerzen (von Elsbeth Bihler)

Vier Kerzen brannten am Adventskranz. Es war ganz still. So still, dass man hörte, wie die Kerzen zu reden begannen. Die erste Kerze seufzte und sagte: "Ich heiße Frieden. Mein Licht leuchtet, aber die Menschen halten keinen Frieden, sie wollen mich nicht." Ihr Licht wurde immer kleiner und verlosch schließlich ganz.

 

Die zweite Kerze flackerte und sagte: "Ich heiße Glauben. Aber ich bin überflüssig. Die Menschen wollen von Gott nichts wissen. Es hat keinen Sinn mehr, dass ich brenne." Ein Luftzug wehte durch den Raum und die zweite Kerze war aus.

 

Leise und sehr traurig meldete sich nun die dritte Kerze zu Wort. "Ich heiße Liebe. Ich habe keine Kraft mehr zu brennen. Die Menschen stellen mich an die Seite. Sie sehen nur sich selbst und nicht die anderen, die sie liebhaben sollen." Und mit einem letzten Aufflackern war auch dieses Licht ausgelöscht.

 

Da kam ein Kind ins Zimmer. Es schaute die Kerzen an und sagte: "Aber ihr sollt doch brennen und nicht aus sein!" Und fast fing es an zu weinen. Da meldete sich auch die vierte Kerze zu Wort. Sie sagte: "Habe keine Angst! Solange ich brenne, können wir auch die anderen Kerzen wieder anzünden. Ich heiße Hoffnung." Mit einem Streichholz nahm das Kind Licht von dieser Kerze und zündete die anderen wieder an.

 

The Four Candles (written by Elsbeth Bihler, told in poor English by us)

 

Four candles were burning at the Advent wreath. All was silent. So silent that you could hear the candles beginning to talk. The first candle sighed and said: "My name is Peace. My light is shining, but the humans don't live in peace, they don't want me." Her light grew smaller until she went out.

 

The second candle was flickering and said: "My name is Faith. But I am superfluous. People don't want to hear about God anymore. There's no more reason for me to keep on burning." A breeze of air blew across the room and the second candle died.

 

Silent and very sad the third candle started to speak: "My name is Love. I have no more strength left to burn. People are pushing me aside. They only care for themselves and not about those they should love." And with a last flickering this light also faded.

 

Then a child entered the room. It was looking at the candles and said: "But you should be burning and not be faded away." And it almost started to cry. Now the fourth candle started to speak. It said: "Don't be afraid. As long as I am burning, we can lit the other candles again. My name is Hope." With a match the child took the light from this candle and lit the other candles again.

Genießt die wenige Zeit bis Weihnachten - wir tun das in jedem Fall. Und wir sehen uns hoffentlich noch mal an Heiligabend! ;O)
Enjoy the remaining time until Christmas - we will do this for sure. And I hope we're seeing each other again at Christmas Eve! ;O)
