"Welcome to Flower Cottage"

Hallo,

... after I becam the happy owner of loads of flowers it was now about time to make sure that these flowers - or at least a part of them - would get a suitable place. Or in other words - it was about time for Birgit to start working on my porch.

Birgit already painted the side parts in a matching dark brown... next step was the floor. A first coat in grey was attached...

... and then Birgit came with these items here which she had bought ages ago - she even doesn't remember anymore where they were bought (And I'm not going to make ANY comment about age and memory... I do like my Birgit very much and whatsmore I'm not a fool so I'm going to avoid her getting angry about me... *teehee*).

These are originally roof shingles Birgit had bought as a try for the 1st Witch Tower but decided not to use them. Some of them were used for covering the garden wall of Strawberry Cottage - but there were still enough left to become paving stones for my porch. Birgit put them in place and then in looked like this:

*kicher*
Once more Birgit was cursing heavily in Old Babylonic because unexpectedly these thingies appeared to have different sizes so everything turned out a little bit crooked in the end... but I don't care - this is all handmade! *grin* Btw this picture was taken with flashlight which lets appear the stones a little bit more reddish than they really are. But that doesn't matter anyway because of course they were about to meet Birgit's brushes - and now the stones look as if I would already live in my cottage since decades... *giggle*

*lach*
That's quite shabby... and with a flower beary on it it even turns out to be Shabby Chic... *LOL*

But this is not all yet... Birgit bought a doormat for me which she liked very much because this piece is very polite whether you're entering or leaving (doormat from Arjen Spinhoven).

And after a little paint treatment it looked like this:

Somehow inviting, isn't it? But what Birgit did next confused me at the beginning. She started to cut out many squares from scrapbooking paper. Well, the paper was pink so this was way okay to me. But when Birgit started to glue them on a board my first thought was she was about to pave the porch once more.

But there I was mistaken... because these "tiles" were not meant for the floor but for the roof! I'm getting a porch with beautiful pink tiles under the roof! How great is that???

And although I already was totally happy Birgit made something very special for her Rosey next. Have a look - two door hangers and a bunting!!!

I'm over the moon with this - this is a dream come true! Btw - don't wonder about the attachment, this isn't permanently fixed so far... as well as on the following picture where Birgit arranged some of the items.

The decorative window shutters still need to be attached to the walls and sign and bunting will be fixed. Speaking of the sign... our dear friend Melli has found this in the internet for me and Birgit wrote a text in it and turned it into a sign for me.

And - do you want to know what's written on it or would you prefer to guess? *smile* Well, it's not that difficult to guess... do you remember today's post headline? *LOL* Sure... Flower Cottage will be for sure an inviting house welcoming every visitor, no doubt about it. And one thing more is for sure - I am indeed the most happiest flower beary in the whole wide world! Only my Birgit is not that happy now... because after finishing the porch it's time for the part of the house building Birgit dislikes the most... the roof. But as I know Birgit she will pull herself up to do this for her Rosey... no doubt about it. ;O)

Liebe Grüße / Hugs
Rosey

Neeeiiiin, was eine wunderschöne, gemütliche Veranda!!!

Melli
