Ein Bett für Orlin

Hallo,

... I'm sure you still remember the lovely family Magictree I've introduced to you lately. Well, after all of this Birgit couldn't stand any more leaves... at least not of that sort she had to make all by herself from paper. *LOL* But I have already told you that Birgit didn't manage to leave the leaves behind... and this was all my little sister's fault.

It all started one lovely day when I happened to meet Rosey together with Gertie Gumthrop - and the two of them on a very special garden bench made of metal I had never seen before. Well, being the blogbeary it's my duty to be informed about everything that's going on around here... and I was also a teenytiny bit curious too... so I went to them and asked: "How do you do? And what about this garden bench?"

Rosey: Hallo Fluby! Ist die nicht toll???
Flutterby: Doch... ein schönes Stück... mal was anderes.
Gertie: Also wirklich, meine kleinen pelzigen Freunde...
Rosey: Hi Fluby! Isn't this awesome???
Flutterby: Sure... a lovely piece... very special indeed. I really like it... but do you really have enough space for this in Flower Cottage's garden... or is this meant for your roof garden, Gertie?
Gertie (smiling): Somehow... at least this will be this bench's place later on.
Rosey: Yes - because this is going to become a bed for Orlin McTwizzle!
Flutterby: For Orlin?
Rosey: Yes... see... I still wanted to find a way to thank Orlin for all his help when building my garden...
Flutterby: Ah... now I get it. Btw (grinning)... I've been helping you too!
Rosey (showing him a grimace): That's sooo you... in my opinion all those "Kaffeeklatsch"-invitations in the meantime were more than worth your little bit of effort when carrying chairs!
Flutterby: (starts to reply but gets interrupted)
Gertie: Calm down, my little furry friends... you shall not always argue with each other - otherwise I might start to think about brewing a "Be-kind-to-each-other"-potion!
Flutterby: Eh... no need for this... okay Rosey, you want to thank Orlin for his help, this far I've understood. But this here is far more a garden settee than a bed, isn't it?

Rosey (nickt): Klar, ohne Birgit-Touch geht ja wohl gar nichts!
Rosey (laughing): Yes - and that's why I was asking for Gertie's advice as an expert because I wasn't sure what would please a root gnome.
Gertie: Poor Orlin... his former master really treated him bad and kept him in a box he was only allowed to leave for work... he would already be glad and content with a pile of leaves.
Rosey: But it should be a bit more than a pile of leaves - and that's when this garden bench came to our mind.
Flutterby: I foresee trouble... let me guess... this will mean work for Birgit, doesn't it?
Rosey (nodding): Sure, it won't do without a bit of Birgit-touch!
Flutterby: Does Birgit already know how lucky she is?
Rosey (beams-with-joy): Oh yes... and she said she would be over the moon having the chance to make loads of leaves once more!
Flutterby (silently to himself): That's hard to believe...

Yes, this is how it all started... Madame Rosey decided to make Orlin happy with his own bed and Birgit found herself responsible for the makeover of a garden bench into a bed for a root gnome. And one thing was clear right from the start... once more many more leaves would be needed. MANY leaves... But one thing after the other - this is once more the original garden bench:

First Birgit covered everything except the seats and the decorative elements at the sides with airdry clay. It was the first time Birgit has worked with cold porcelain and she had to get used to this material because the handling is somehow different than with Fimo what is what Birgit usually uses. You can see this looking at the little branches Birgit has added... they turned out a bit too thick. Our buddy Sioux said they would look like huge, dangerous thorns...

Sieht wirklich nicht sehr einladend aus...
Doesn't look very inviting indeed...

... but Birgit stayed calm and carried on saying this would all get well in the end... *grin* Nevertheless it was now once more time for Birgit's brushes... everything was coloured brown and a bit of "moss" was added. But even more - a lovely soft foliage mattress was cut to fit the settee...

And now it slowly gets visible that this is going to become a very special bed for a root gnome.

But now the moment had come... once more time for Birgit's favourite job! Yes... now once more loads of leaves had to be made. And after the first portion of leaves was attached to Orlin's future bed it looked like this:

You can already guess how it will look in the end... but until then Birgit will need to make many more leaves because unfortunately she has decided that the leaf carpet on top needs to be very tight to protect Orlin even in bad weather. (As if there would ever be bad weather in Birgit's livingroom... *teehee*)

Well, now you know why Birgit couldn't get rid of making leaves after finishing the magical trees... And how it will continue with Orlin's bed and what Orlin himself says to all of this... well... this I'm going to tell you the next time! ;O)

Liebe Grüße / Hugs

Willkommen im Juli und einiges mehr

Hallo

... and Welcome to July! Honestly, I'm still not able to get this... JULY!!! Please tell me - where did the first half of the year go to??? Anybody able to give me some clues or hints? Ah... you don't know about it either and are also wondering how fast time flies by? Well, okay... *LOL* Looks like I should better tear up the fur on my arms once more to help Birgit with updating her numerous calendars. Because even though I don't understand how it comes that we're already finding ourselves in July - but this doesn't stop me from being the well-known gentlebear in July... *grin* Let's have a look what our wisdom calendar is offering to us this month... As usual a nice picture and this month a wisdom from the far East (and as always I'm not going to quote but try to say it in my own poor English), it says the most beautiful flowers are often blooming in secret.

Yes, sometimes we don't look close enough... there's a little poem (well, it rhymes in German) by Franz Wittkamp who said we are impressed by flowers we rarely see - we admire orchids and despise dandelions. Well, that's for sure a good opportunity for one of our most favourite sayings... coming from Pearl S. Buck who wrote the true art of life would be seeing the wonder in the everyday.

How true... and sometimes it's just right to enjoy the moment and do yourself something good. That's what Birgit has done lately... but I better should do some explaining first. Many, many years ago (And I do mean MANY, MANY YEARS AGO!!! *giggle*), when even my Birgit was still a child she had a very special pet - a small parrot... a rosy-faced lovebird. It's of course somehow animal torture keeping these birds single but Birgit's familiy didn't know it better then (yes, these were the days when there was no internet yet... hard to imagine... but as far as I am informed strawberries were already known, at least one comfort... eh... where was I...) - but luckily with this special little guy this went really well. He was a feathered friend, a family member, a clown... sometimes a nuisance... but until today unforgotten in Birgit's family. And somewhen Birgit happened to discover Fanni who creates awesome miniatures of birds and asked Fanni if she would consider doing such a rosy-faced lovebird in 1:12 - as a memory of a small friend back of childhood days. Well, and Fanni could...

Birgit is very happy with her miniature rosy-faced lovebird... but of course this little chap needed a lovely home now. And that's when our blogfriend Magda came to Birgit's mind who is offering very special birdcages in her Etsy-shop... well, what am I supposed to say... Magda worked a little miracle for Birgit and her tiny parrot! And even more - she also included a stunning gift for Birgit!

A second decorative cage! How great is that??? And the cage which Magda painted after Birgit's request is simply beautiful...

und wie Ihr jetzt sehen könnt...
... and as you can see now...

*lach*
... the new owner appreciates it very much, too! *LOL*

Dear Magda, thank you very much for creating this beautiful, beautiful piece just for Birgit and her miniature parrot!!! We are going to treasure it for always!

Speaking of "Thank you's" we don't want to forget about another one... Some time ago Birgit was the lucky winner of the Grandmommy's giveaway... and in the meantime our price arrived.

*hihi*
A great book, donated by the author herself (who's real name is Camille Minichino). We are really looking forward to reading it... but the story takes place during Christmas time so we will keep that for later so Birgit has something to read while I am enjoying a good time at the BiWuBeary Christmas Market... *teehee*

Dear Grandmommy and dear Camille - thank you very much for this wonderful giveaway price!

So, this was all from me for today - and now I'm wishing to all of you a great July! And in the end I have saved a lovely wisdom by Mark Twain for you who said summer is the time when it's too hot to do all the things that couldn't be done in winter because it was too cold. ;O)

Kaffeeklatsch (Nr. 255)

Hallo,

... it's me - Sunny! Somehow the sunbeam among the BiWuBearies! *LOL* And of course I'm really happy being your host of today's Sundayafternoon-"Kaffeeklatsch"... Nevertheless I've climbed the "Kaffeeklatsch"-cup with very mixed emotions today...

See, it's like this... today is not only the last "Kaffeeklatsch" in June but also the last before our "Kaffeeklatsch" summer break. Oh, don't give me that look... "Kaffeeklatsch" is not going forever, we will be back! But truth is that there aren't enough BiWuBearies around here anymore to fill the "Kaffeeklatsch"-cup 52 times. I'm the last one of the "normal" BiWuBearies... the ones still left belong either to the Witch Tower Crew or are Christmas bearies or snow beings. And let's not forget that it's always very quiet in blogland during the summer months...

Besides all of you know very well in the meantime what it takes to turn a Sunday into a nice and cozy Sunday. *smile* Nevertheless Rosey, Fluby and I are going to show this one more time just to make it pretty clear...

It's as simple as this - it just takes a nice Sundayafternoon-"Kaffeeklatsch" to make a Sunday nice...

And a Sundayafternoon-"Kaffeeklatsch" gets really nice with having one, two cups of tasty Sundayafternooncoffee and enjoying one, two, three, four pieces of yummy Sundayafternooncake! And for this we're wishing you loads of fun - for this and the coming Sundays until somewhen in Semptember the first of our magical bearies is going to check if you'll be still interested and in need for a BiWuBeary-"Kaffeeklatsch"... ;O) And let me point this out once more: Only the "Kaffeeklatsch" is going on a summer break... but not our blog, Fluby is still going to report about what's going on around here. Well, and now I'm wishing to you a great week and a nice start into July!

Liebe Grüße / Hugs

Blätter, Blätter... und noch mehr Blätter

Hallo,

*schmunzel*
... today we're going to continue with Family Magictree... and I can tell you: Never did a headline (Leaves, leaves... and even more leaves) fit better than this! O yes... Birgit had to make loads of leaves for her tree family... plenty of leaves... and then even much more leaves. And whenever Birgit was thinking by herself "Well... maybe this will be enough now"... see, after glueing them in place it showed up at once that this was once more the famous drop on the well-known hot stone. *smile*

So Birgit continued to make more leaves... and then even more leaves. And this isn't only about the mere quantity... also from the point of quality this was quite challenging because every single leaf needed many working steps until it could finally be glued in place. I'm going to show this to you:

It all starts with punching the leaves - Birgit is lucky to own a leaf punch in two different sizes. Then the leaf veins have to be drawn and afterwards the leaf is dyed completely - of course on both sides...

... and after punching/shaping it's finally done and ready to be glued onto the tree - as you can see at this picture showing the beginnings of Daddy Magictree:

And so Birgit has spent many weeks with making more and more and yet more leaves... but all of a sudden... yes, somewhen Birgit has decided that this amount of leaves will do. And you know it... when it comes to decisions like these Birgit is the boss around here... *LOL* So I may now introduce you to the finished Family Magictree!

Ladies first! Also... pssssssst...)
But of course I'm going to introduce every family member now on its own. And being the well-known gentlebear from top to toe that I am I'm going to start with Mama Magictree of course. Ladies first! (But first of some piece of advice... please come a little closer... I need to talk in a low voice... *whisper* Please - no comments about Mama Magictree's nose!!! She's quite touchy about this... and believe me: You really don't want to make a magical tree get angry about you! So... shhhhhhh...)

*schmunzel*
A true tree beauty - and her name is Blossom... no surprise Daddy Magictree is crazy for her... *smile*

Und hier kommt der Junior!
And here comes Junior!

Ein wirklich lustiger kleiner Kerl!
He's one funny little chap for sure!

Und damit kommen wir zum Familienoberhaupt - Barks!
And now we come to the head of the family - Barks!

As you can see I would have no problems getting shade from Daddy Magictree on hot days...

*grins*
Seems to be up to fashion with his 3-days-beard... *grin*

Was für ein schönes Paar! Bis dass die Axt uns scheidet... *kicher*
What a lovely couple! Until the axe do us part... *giggle*

Barks: *seufz*
Junior: When I'm grown I want to have a tree house...
Barks: *sigh*

Blossom: Halt Dich gerade, mein Sohn...
Junior: *seufz*
Blossom: Stand straight, son... You don't want to suffer from tree disc herniation when you're grown...
Junior: *sigh*

And at the end once more a family portrait - all say "Leeeaaaaaves" please!!!

Btw I can already tell you this - although Family Magictree is now finished - but Birgit is not yet through with making leaves, no way... She had no chance at all to get out of practise - but why she needed even more leaves... ehm... many more leaves... well... this I'm going to show you another time! ;O)

Kaffeeklatsch (Nr. 254)

Hallo,

*schmunzel*
... it's me - Mon Chéri! And of course I am very happy that it's my turn today to be your host of this Sundayafternoon-"Kaffeeklatsch". Because it's like with the cherry praline I got my name from - who would ever be able to say "No" to it? *smile* (And in case "Mon Chéri" should not be known in your place of the world... look here!)

*grins*
Yes, I am the cherry expert among the BiWuBearies - that's why I'm always keeping an eye on our cherry tree in the garden. You could say I'm somehow a guardian angel for cherries... *grin*

Well, you don't need to be an expert at all to tell that it will still need some time until our cherries are red and ripe. *LOL* And you also don't need to be an expert for knowing that a BiWuBearie is seldom alone to be seen in a garden... So I may cordially greet you to part 93875 of "And again many pictures showing BiWuBearies in the garden"! Yes, once more we are smoothly smuggling our garden pictures into a "Kaffeeklatsch"-post... *teehee* And because we still have June it's mostly roses you are going to see now...

Beautiful, isn't it? Mother Nature is for sure the most powerful magician of all... especially because she not only spoils our eyes but our noses too... hmmm... the scent of roses and peonies is exquisite for sure - as well as a nice cozy Sundayafternoon-"Kaffeeklatsch" (And you may believe me - I am somehow surprised myself how well I managed to switch over to this... *giggle*). And luckily it's Sunday today... and that's why I'm wishing to you loads of fun later on with one, two cups of tasty Sundayafternooncoffee and one, two, three, four pieces of yummy Sundayafternooncake. And of course I'm wishing to all of you a great week on top... and to all who are like us living at the northern hemisphere a great start of summer!

Die Anfänge von Familie Zauberbaum

Hallo,

... so far I've shown you the pieces of furniture Birgit has created for Gertie's retirement home as well as the first magical plants. Today it's about time for me to introduce you to Family Magictree.

*lach*
Yes, that's right - Family Magictree. And this family turned out to be a true long-time-project Birgit has started with many weeks ago. So don't be surprised when I'm wearing my scarf on some of the pictures we are going to show now... *LOL*

It all started with Birgit's decision there should be trees on Gertie's roof garden. But of course these needed to be special trees... magical trees with a good amount of Birgit-Touch. Well, there are several ways to create a miniature tree... Birgit developed somehow her own method and the first thing you need for this is a tree from Playmobil... just like this for example:

Knowing Birgit means knowing that she really likes Playmobil... although their scale is in general smaller nevertheless some items are suitable for 1:12 projects. Especially for those like Birgit who do not fear to use their brushes... Anyway those Playmobil trunks make a really good base. You've already met Family Magictree's Junior and this here is the base of Mommy Magictree:

Then Birgit glued some additonal branches to the tree trunks...

... and covered everything in the next step with her trustworthy structurepaste!

And because nothing should be wasted Birgit used a leftover from the building of the New Witch Tower being dyed in grey! *grin* Mommy Magictree looks quite spooky in grey... but not for long because as soon as the structurepaste was dry it was time for a paint cover in brown...

... and afterwards for a good amount of "moss" on the tree bark.

But even more... if you'll have a really close look you will notice that Family Magictree is able to look back at you... and they could even greet you... And perhaps they would like to remind me that I still need to introduce you to the head of the family... *smile* Well, as if I could ever forget Daddy Magictree...

As you can see there are even the first leaves showing up on Daddy Magictree... well, I can already tell you this: Birgit had to make many leaves for Family Magictree... every now and then inbetween... and when I'm talking of "many leaves" I really do mean many leaves! But how it looks like after all those many leaves were glued onto Family Magictree - well, this I'm going to show you the next time... ;O)
