Hallo,
... there's a German saying about practice making the master - but it looks that I have no chance to become a master because my Birgit has a different opinion on this topic... *sigh* And somehow I'm a little bit upset now... although I am so very happy because my Birgit gave me this piece as a gift:

Nun stellt Ihr Euch vermutlich zwei Fragen...
I suppose there are two questions now... Question 1: What is this? Question 2: And why should a gift from Birgit for her flutterybeary cause any trouble? Well, I should better tell you the story right from the beginning... It all started with a kit by Volker Arnold Birgit luckily won in an auction on a well-known website with four letters (beginning with an e, ending with a y and in the middle with a b and an a... *grin*).

Schaut mal:
An old-fashioned shop in scale 1:144 - with loads of tiny parts. Have a look:

In Worten: VIERUNDZWANZIG!!!
Each drawer consists of 5 tiny parts... somehow there are even 6 because there's also a cover for each drawer. I somehow asked myself why Birgit gets herself in this kind of trouble... and so I asked her why. She laughed and asked me if I would know how many drawers there were. Yes, I knew it, exactly 21 - 16 bigger ones and 5 smaller ones at the bottom. "And what is so special about 21 drawers?" I asked her. She grinned at me: "If you're adding the two compartments in the middle and on of the shelves standing on the side wall - what number do you get?" Wait a moment... 21 and 2 and 1 makes... 24! In words: TWENTYFOUR!!! And finally I understood - Birgit was building me my own Advent calendar!!! How great is that???????? Really, at this time I was the most happiest flutterybeary in the whole wide world. And all the effort Birgit had to put in this... let alone with fixing all these tiny drawers.

And Birgit also worked careful on the rest - now you can already see that this is related to Christmas...

Und so sieht mein fertiger Adventskalender aus:
And this is how my finished Advent calender looks like:

Isn't this gorgeous??? And for Christmas Eve there is an extra big compartment reserved... great! Nevertheless I knew one thing at once - such a wonderful piece needed to be treated with care! That's why I told Birgit that we should use the remaining time until Advent to make sure everything goes well in December and that we should practise during the next months from 1 to 24 how to open the drawers, find out what I need to consider etc. etc. And being the gentlebear that I am I wanted to help Birgit to prepare the August-practice and already opened drawer No. 1 so that she would be able to hide something nice in there for me - that's the only way to practise for December to make sure that everything will work fine.

But guess what?! Birgit laughed!!! To be more exact she was ROFL-ing!!! Really... this kind of shocked me... I needed to sit down for a moment!

Then Birgit muttered something like I would do anything to get me some gifts... Well, and that's where we're returning to the beginning of this post...
So here I am now, a small flutterybeary with a wonderful Advent calendar... and I'm really worrying if everything will turn out well in December with the Advent calendar and me... *sigh* And all of this just because Birgit refuses to understand that it would be important to practise a lot during August, September, October and November - her part being the one to fill the drawers and my part being the one to get the gifts out. And it's always said practice would make the master... it's really hard to understand human beings... And honestly speaking - isn't it somehow a sin using this fantastic piece for just 24 days in the year??? Birgit always says everything should have its own time... but practice would have been very important, too, don't you agree? Well... at least I tried... ;O)
Liebe Grüße / Hugs
